  • Dokutah changed the title to [BLVO] Journeys Through The Desert Of Abyss | the saga of Dogmatika, Tribrigade, and new archetype?!

Cool concept, it has been a while since we had a desert focused theme.

The Sprigguns archetype seems to be very reliant on Vast Desert – Gold Golgonda, however they are not Normal Summon reliant and have an own searcher for it, so there is that.

Sprigguns Ship Exblower is a very interesting monster, being able to continuously dodge with its self banishing effect and being able to fire a shot hitting a plus shaped area (and due to the wording is non-targeting), from what I can tell this should even work if the middle zone would be empty, furthermore the gimmick of the archtype seems to be constant resupplying the Xyzs, which can dodge removals and be summoned with the Field Spell.

Sprigguns Captain Sargus (which can be summoned with Sprigguns Pede) and Sprigguns Blast! also add some additional interruption tools, given that the Xyz can only dodge during the opponent's turn.

The spelling on the Field Spell also heavily suggests that we will at some point get more Xyzs for Sprigguns (similar to the constant Dogmatika support and the new Tri-Brigade support).

A new Albaz Fusion (Splind the Steelexpress Dragon) should generally be a nice thing and the summoning requirements on this one are a lot more leanient than on the others, while allowing to tutor or search for the own archetype or Albaz.

The effect of Splind the Steelexpress Dragon is also interesting, given that it involves movement and a new incentive to look out for one's own placement on the board.

Tri-Brigade Kit seems very strong, considering that Tri-Brigade Oat is a target and this one thus also adds an additional Spell/Trap negation for the Fractaur -> Navel -> Kit playline.

The trap card Dogmatika Genesis looks bad, while being intended to halp resupplying the Extra Deck, alongside adding a negation I feel that the negation is a lot too resctricted, being mostly useless against Xyzs (and Synchros).

I just enjoy how they are maneuvering around targeting protection by targeting Zones instead of monsters with this.  Definitely interesting.  I am expecting at least 1 R4 for 'em (even if they wouldn't actually summon it conventionally).  They've got a couple monsters that can be Dupe'd, but not sure how much advantage that'd give.

The Fallen Albaz Fusion Dragon looks like it could work as pretty nice interruption if you can somehow manage to summon it on your opponent's turn.  That said, its effect is an ignition effect and it only works best when your opponent doesn't see it coming, so...

It feels like these would pair up extremely well with the Time Thief monsters.  These can get out and stock an Xyz without using the Normal Summon, but they focus a lot on board-breaking; they don't gain much advantage in and of themselves.  Time Thieves could use the free Xyz materials gained by the Sprigguns to trigger their effects and plus.  Most of the Main Deck Time Thieves are also Machine (for whatever support that gives).  Pretty excited to test the mix once these hit EDO.
