No, more then half of the worlds population are either idiots or emotional. idiots should die but as for the emotional even if they are it's not a big deal. Thing is people don't always think well and we must protect them.

Then again we should make stupid people suicide, someone should do so.....

Here are my thoughts...

If someone wants to commit suicide; let them. Don't even try to pursuade them not to. If they are going to, then they are. If they dont, then they dont. People worry too much about this. After a suicide takes place, i don't feel sorry for the family. They are the ones who put them through such protagonist torments before they ended it all.

Do people have the right to suicide? In order to answer that, one has to have someone to give them a said 'right'. There are no universal rights, thus there is no true answer. In many cultures of old and new, it's expected of someone for honor reasons. Who are we to assume that, that's the wrong solution? I've had some people close to me take their own lives, each for their own reasons, I was hurt by their actions, yes, but the pain I felt couldn't have been any more so then the pain the felt as they ended it all.

In the end, we are our own masters, it's just a matter of how quickly we wish to bite the bullet.

what if the reason's are byond the families control, what if it was trouble from school, work, spouse? What if the man was oversensitive because of certain things going on and then he got a bad news and just lost it? would it be fair to let them kill themselves when we can help them overcome this situation? No.

Allowing someone to commit suicide isn't homicide; it's a justice for them. If they want to; it's their life, so why can't they?

Besides, most suicidal people are provoked even further to commit suicide if you try to guilt trip them or tell them that their life is valuable.

If you want to convince someone to not commit suicide; tell them to look in a mirror and say "I want to die." If they can do that, then they will probably commit suicide anyway. If they can't, then they never really wanted to die.

More then 3/4 of the people who commit suicide funked up and did it when their hormones were high, they were high or they funked up at something and though they deserve to die. FACT. They don't deserve to die because a fat retarded kid kept annoying them about how week they were and how they were useless. FACT. The don't deserve to die because they got raped at a young age. FACT. They don't deserve to die because you think there life is worthless. FACT. They don't deserve to die because of stuck-up people like you who think it's fair for them to die because they abused and no one stopped their worthless life to do something good for a change and help someone when he needed too. FACT. They don't deserve to die because you wont help them when they most need to. FACT.

Why the hell do people wanna act like god's? Because it's easier? Because it fills up your ego meter? because you don't give a funk? because their better off dead?

I went through 3 years of comptemplating suicide. I overcame it on my own. Most people who are suicidal, aren't going to tell you that they are. The way you look at it is like this:

We are all murderers. We sit on our couch and watch a good tv show eating some chips or something, instead of going out and saving people's lives. That makes us all murderers because we have the option to be saving people's lives, and right now someone could be dying because we aren't saving their life.

Most people who are suicidal won't go through with it unless they really do feel like it's necessary to resolve their situation. Suicidal thoughts are what the brain experience when a situation is too hard for it to comprehend the solution to rationally.

It's selfish to assume that their situation isn't bad enough to put them to the thoughts of suicide. People take things differently. I might drive to a store I really wanted to go to and it be closed. I might react by saying "Damn I thought it was open." Someone else might react with "funk IM GONNA KILL MYSELF, NOOOO"

Undoubtably you do have points from your perspective that make a lot of sense. It's insensitive of me to wash my hands of someone suicidal status. But either way, you probably aren't going to prevent it. Ultimately it's up to them if they get to live or die; you might just be a stimulus to help provoke them. Either way, they get to decide for themselves..

Yes it's up to them, but i really despise people who are so arrogant who won't even try to understand the people and possibly help them. As you said in your example, it's an amazingly stupid reason to die. But if we actually take the time to just understand what they feel, maybe even ask them and let them vent it out then in my opinion it's only fair to do so and most of the time that will help.

Done.

All we would be is a cause. The effect is going to be random, from our point of view. However nothing can be random because somewhere in your brain these chemicals were adding up which parts of the argument make sense and which parts don't, and whichever one weighed down the other your brain decides on.

But thats off topic.

It's not our responsibility to help them. If you want to help someone who is suicidal, call the cops if you see them on a bridge. If they really care enough about their life and the decision they are going to make; they will go see a specialist. If their life isn't important to them, let them take it. It's their own decision and to not let them would be a major slap in the face for them.

Odds are they will seek help if they remotely care about their life at all; and if they don't seek help they were bound to do it anyway regardless of what you do to try and help them.

This is by far, my favorite topic to discuss.

You control your life. You control what you do, where you go, what you eat, and how you live. You can also control HOW you die. You can bomb yourself, shoot yourself, suicide. You control EVERYTHING about yourself. So why can't you control suicide? Why should the government be able to stop you from dying? "I hate life. I do not know why I was put here, or what I am supposed to do. Life brings be misery and pain. I want to die." I have heard that quote MANY times before. If you do not want to be here, you should be able to kill yourself. And it is not a murder, because you are killing yourself. You control EVERYTHING about you, including if you want to die.

It depends on the situation on whether or not suicide is acceptable.

If you are terminally ill, and you will not survive (like you are literally in the hospital on your death bed, hooked up to life support to survive) you should be able to decide whether or not you want to remain alive or not.

If you are a vegetable and cannot make a decision, I think your family has the right (if not specified by will) to determine, based off your best interests, whether or not you should survive or not.

If you are just depressed and tired of being alive, suck it up. Everyone's life is bad, everyone has a rough spot in their life, and everyone deserves the chance to live a full life.

Life is what YOU make of it. Just because you are depressed isn't everyone elses fault. YOU have to make the decision on how long you want to be despressed and what you have to do to make yourself happy again. If that means counselling, then go to counselling. If that means medication, then get on medication. But sitting there b****ing about how tough your life is and wanting to die does not give you the right to take your life.

There are people who would die to have your depressing life. Why? Because they live in third world countries where if they speak their mind they are dead. Where if they do something wrong, or try and steal food to feed their families, they are dead. There are people who would give their own life to give their child your life, just because of where you live and your chances of survival, and of making your life better.

Just because your life is bad, doesn't mean its so bad you can kill yourself. If there are people being tortured in third world countries who can find the will to survive when all hope is already lost of them ever getting into a better place while they are alive, then surely you can find the strength and the gaul to keep yourself alive and make your life better.

Quite obviously yes, if such thing as freedom exists. You see, if we are actually to be the masters of our own life, then we must be the masters of our death. To put it simply, humans think they must have control over everything in life, and that includes death, this meaning that we think suicide is a right, when in fact it is a privilege technology has given us. If we were still apes, would we feel any need to kill ourselves? No, of course not!

Technology has told us that we need to be in control, but in fact, trying to be in control means that we are losing our will to live, in the sense that we WANT to kill ourselves. Maybe I have overcomplicated things. To resume what I have said, technology is why we kill ourselves, and suicide is a privilege.

Suicide is anything but a privelage. It is an escape for people who do not want to deal with problems in their lives.

Society has told us that its easier to just die than to deal with issues that we are faced with, so now we have a weak society bent on, instead of solving problems, hiding, running and even killing ourselves in order to avoid being confronted by them.

Technology is not to blame for mankind's wanting to die. There have been ritualistic and cult suicides for centuries. Even Jesus committed a form of suicide we like to call, self-sacrifice. He willingly put himself to death in order to protect the human race from our own sins.

Suicide was not created by technology. Suicide was enhanced by society's desire to be a "perfect society". Perfect appearance, perfect intelligence, perfect boyfriend (or girlfriend), no problems, everything handed to you on a silver platter. Now when people see they aren't getting that, they are depressed because they cannot have what someone else has, and want to die because of it. Or something horrible happened in their life, and instead of taking the steps to deal with those issues and work through them, they want to die because they don't want to remember and they don't want to think about it.

I've been working with suicidal people for years and trust me, it is not technology that they want to die because of. Its because of jealousy, of deceit, of being severely hurt, and because of society.

But suicide must be a privilege, as not every one has access to that. However, you are right in that it is a escape from problems. But apes have problems, do they not? And I ask you, can they commit suicide? No, they can't. Only humans with technology can. This meaning and implying that we do not have the right to technology just by existing. We have the privilege of being smart, and knowing how.

It is society who has the damaged mind if we are to allow one of our own to kill themselves.

And as far as apes committing suicide, yes they can. They can drown, run off a cliff, etc.

Just because we do not understand how they think or know if they acknowledge the difference between life and death (beyond their own natural survival instincts) doesn't mean they aren't incapable of killing themselves, it just won't be on over-dose or with a pistol.

So you would rather the government force mentally unstable and dangerous people to live?

Apes aren't committing suicide. Apes do not have the ability to reason logically. Running off a cliff or drowning are accidents.

Suicide =/= accidental death
