As you said, it does use elements from many other anime though. But hey - there's no such thing as an original story anymore. There are only original ways to TELL a story. I'm sort of like a sampler really, I like some episode from quite a few animes (Pokemon, yu-gi-oh, Naruto, Inuyasha etc.) The only ones I like EVERY episode is Fate/Stay Night and Trigun.
