skyline777123
Hello! I am skyline777123! And I have come up with a new Card Mechanic: AMULET MONSTERS!!! They are like Pendulum Monsters, except they are the Continuous Trap Versions! If you are willing to go further, please read on. Now that I have your attention, let me first apologize, because I do not have a picture of the card and it's specs. But I do have a Description of what they look like, so bear with me. First off, and most importantly, they are always Monsters AND Traps, with the top half of the Border Effect Monster Orange and the bottom half of the Border Trap Card Pink. Secondly, they have 1 Amulet Scale Symbol that is upright (with the short half pointing towards the Amulet Effect and the long half pointing at the Amulet Scale just below it) and Yellow colored instead of the usual Blue and Red colors. Secondly, it's Scale is also indicated by 3 Numbers that are numbered 0-5 separated by 2 "/" symbols, with the first number representing Monster Card Zones, the second number representing Spell and Trap Card Zones, and the third number representing the Field Spell Card Zone. Lastly, the Symbol and Scale Numbers are in a Single Box between the Amulet Effect Text Box and the Monster Effect Text Box. Other than that, the Monster's CARD NAME, ATTRIBUTE, LEVEL/RANK, CARD PICTURE, MONSTER TYPE, CARD TYPE, EFFECT TYPE, EXTRA TYPE, ATTACK POINTS, DEFENSE POINTS, PACK IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, and PASSWORD are in the same places as a Pendulum Monster. For the rules: The Field now has the Amulet Scale Symbol Card Zone between the Spell and Trap Card Zones and the Monster Card Zones. Like a Pendulum Monster, they are set face-up, but only in the Amulet Zone. Then, they add to the appropriate Card Zones an extra set of Zones that depends on the number of the Amulet Scale Numbers (but only an equal amount to the ones that were already on the Field.). For example: Let us say that the Scale Numbers are 5/3/1. 5 (since it is the first Number on the scale) represents the number of extra Monster Card Zones that you can add to your side of the Field. But since it is the maximum number of extra Monster Card Zones that you can have, you cannot add any more Monster Card Zones to the Field (since it is equal to the ones already on your side of the Field that were already there at the start of the Duel). This rule also applies to the second number, which is 3, which represents the Spell and Trap Card Zones. But in that case, you have 2 less extra Spell and Trap Card Zones than you can have up to. It is the Field Spell Card Zone that you can only have up to 1 extra of (this is the maximum). 2 more rules: They can only be played if you have set your Pendulum Scales at least once, and only from a response to a specific action listed in the Amulet Effect (then, the effects activate again each time the same action is Repeated); AND They act (in every other aspect) just like Pendulum Monsters. Hope you all like it! Also like or dislike, and please post a reply!
Trebuchet MS
Hello, and welcome to YCM. A few things to note is that here in card-related parts of the forum, threads without cards have a tendency to get locked. However! Once you do finish designing your card images, you can then negotiate with a mod to get your forum unlocked so you can post up the card. The alternative is to post your cards' properties as a Written Card. This is for times when one just can't find a suitable image to use with the card. Finally, new card types or mechanics belong in the Experimental Section, which is a subset of Casual Cards. So expect this thread to be moved a little bit into the right position. While you have piqued my curiosity with this concept, I'm afraid I can't comment any further without knowing how else the Amulet Scales become relevant during play. Do elaborate a little more, perhaps once you finish designing your cards. Have a good day.
flowerviolence
I really like the concept, but what exactly are the scales representing? And do they work like pendulum monsters? Or are they monsters that activate like traps? Also a friendly welcome to YCM! :
skyline777123
Thanks! I will move the post to the right place! :) okay....how do I do that? :
Trebuchet MS
Give it a moment and a mod will do that for you soon. In the meantime, edit your opening post to contain and example card (it can be Written, as I mentioned) so that the thread doesn't get locked on the way. Flash Flyer - Sakura
As Gadjiltron mentioned, you need to post at least 1 card of this new concept, so we get a better understanding. In the meantime, I will move this to Casual Cards, but please have a card added to the main post within 24 hours.
skyline777123
How do I post the Card Concept Picture? I happen to be at a loss, in that direction. :(
Flash Flyer - Sakura
If you have a custom card template that's being used for this, upload it to another image hosting site and then copy the IMG code into your thread. Otherwise, you can simply type out the idea. I should note that you are not required to have a picture ready; just provide the basics (explanation of the card mechanic, the usual card requirements and a sample). Just one is fine for now, and you can add more later as you go.

Radiant F.U.R.Y.™
You have piqued my curiosity. I hope to see an example amulet monster soon. One thing, though: If you have the amulet scale on its own line between the 2 effects, wont that leave you a little pressed for space with regard to the artwork? Woloa
Well, now I know what card gimmick to use for my fanfiction. But, being serious, this is an alright (if hard to grasp) idea. It took me a wile to realize that the scale of 5 means you have 10 zones, the wording makes it kinda sound like it wouldn't do anything. I also decided to (try) to put together a written example amulet monster, more for my own reference than anything else Yellow Gem Eyes Doll Level 2, Spellcaster-Type, 1000Atk/1000Def No monster effect Amulet Scales: 3/4/0 Amulet effect: Once per turn, when an opponent's monster declares a direct attack wile you control at least 1 monster, negate the attack. skyline777123
I'm going to an example of an Amulet Monster today. I'm going to use the only Checkmate Monster that is online and remake it into the example Amulet Monster Card. Mind you, it will take a little bit of time for me to make it. So I would like it if you could all be patient. No rudeness intended.
skyline777123
I can't get the Amulet Monster POSTED! O=< (No Rudeness Applied! Just Frustrated!)
Dova
What's the problem? Maybe we can help.

skyline777123
To start off: STUPID COMPUTER! Now then: I now know that I need someone to post a picture of it for me. But to do that I need someone's E-Mail to send it to them so they can post it, but only 1 person is needed (Unless someone can tell me how to send it to my profile on this site? If so: Thanks in advance!).
Trebuchet MS
Or, you can create your own Photobucket account (it's free and won't expire - mine's been running since 2007 or so) to upload the image. From there you can post the image through a link. Everything is accomplished without needing the additional cooperation of a second person. Flash Flyer - Sakura
If posting images is problematic at present, then just write the card out.Remember that you are not required to have a card with picture. But yeah, if you're adamant about it, just make a Photobucket account (or Imgur, if you want to) and upload your stuff to there. There should be a guide to posting pictures in the announcements. No need for another person to post it for you. -----Just keep in mind that at present, you do not have a card in the thread.
skyline777123
Okay. Thanks! I'll just write it out. Keep in mind that it might be a little bit before I post it, as I am working on a new set called 'Holy Heroes', which feature the first 3 Amulet Monsters anyway. So this Thread will no longer have posts by me. Also: Can you unlock that Thread tomorrow? I'll have my first written set of cards up then. By the way: I'd like to give everyone a BIG Thank You for all of the LIKES, Points, & Views that you have given to me. Feel free to use my idea for any concepts that you may have! Thanks Again! Bye! :,(
