DARKPLANT RISING
The power of Synchros was too destructive. It had been too late for Konami to say "okay, let's ban all of them", so they replaced it with this to stop the Pandora's Box. At least, they tried to. Note how Konami was as kind as to stop Stardust negotation as well. Or rather, evil. Discuss on this.

Maybe it's because I'm not a competitive player, but it seems like some pretty decent cards get under-appreciated by you pros. Isn't everybody spamming Synchros these days? Sylphiend
This reminds me of a Trap Card I have, called "Discord": Effect of "Discord":Neither Player can Synchro Summon. TechnoDoomedOne
This only serves to kill pure Syncro based decks, because otherwise it's pretty much unusable. Remember this card's only use is against Semi-Nomi monsters, and some Synchros (mostly LV9) activate their effects as soon as they hit the field. Whatever damage they do then, has already been done and cannot be repaired even if they return to the Extra Deck in the End Phase. And what then? They can be re-Summoned again. I would rather use "Compulsory Evacuation Device" (and in fact, I do run it), which is a Fusion and Synchro killer, than this card. The latter has much more uses, and also kills Tribute monsters (except for the Monarchs).

Return Blackrose Dragon if you need to clear a field. Resummon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier for that wonderful effect.(not sarcasam) and 5,001 other possabilitys. Point is that this card has a potenital to be limited if some one came up with the right deck for it.

And Compulsory Evac Device has exactly the same possibilities - it just works against non-Synchros, too. Konami doesn't know how to make type-killers. Discord > This. And that's terrible. I love giving myself a -2 that removes my strong monsters from the field in the hopes of being able to get it back next turn at a price when I could have just built my Extra Deck less badly instead. evilfusion
So this turns all Synchros to defense, but doesn't limit their ability to change battle positions, leaves them on the field, and then returns them to the Extra Deck during the End Phase. This affects both you and your opponent's monsters, only works on a specific class of monster, most Synchro spamming takes place after all f/d S/Ts have been eliminated (Mist Wurm). On the bright side, this card returns ALL Synchros at the End Phase, not just the ones affected by this card. However, it's still a very inconsistent card that can backfire on you, doesn't negate the effects of the Synchros (Junk Destroyer, Mist Wurm, Trishula, Stardust can still use its effect), and overall is just annoying. It's also a dead draw if the opponent doesn't use Synchros, doesn't need Synchros, or just doesn't manage to summon a Synchro. Compulsory can do the same thing (to one), isn't limited to Synchros, does it immediately, and is overall just more versatile than this. I would never use this card. Too conditional for too little of a benefit. If you want to make an anti-Synchro deck, sure, throw one of these in. Or use Discord.

Flame Dragon
If it also negated their affect then this might be worth something. And personally I like using Grand Mole for my anti-synchro purposes.

Mr. Judgment Dragon
Not worth the Ultra Rare spot This. I'd rather use something else to stop Synchros. -Griffin
It's not a type killer if it's targeted against a majority of Decks. That's like saying Seven Tools of the Bandit is a type killer because some Decks use more Traps than others.
~/Coolio Prime\~
Synchros, Fusions, and Rituals are all specific cards that go behind the basic Monster, Spell and Trap concept. Just because the Synchro concept is grossly overpowered and has resulted in their being spammed in many decks, that doesn't mean they aren't as deck dependent as other cards. Running this is an inconsistency since you will run into people that use no Synchros.
