So...let me get this straight.
Konami realizes that Latin American and Eurpoean countries are missing out on the fun that the Americans and Japanese are having with JUMP Promos. They realize this is a problem. How do they solve this? By reprinting the cards for those regions so EVERYONE can have them?

HERP DERP WE'LL MAKE SURE NOBODY CAN USE THEM.

I'd like to hear the logic behin-wait this is Konami.

"SHONEN JUMP Magazine cards are NOT legal for play in Europe, Oceania, Central, or South America, as SHONEN JUMP Magazine is not officially distributed there. If a SHONEN JUMP and/or Graphic Novel card has been released through another method, then that card is legal for play."

"Yu-Gi-Oh!-related Graphic Novel cards are only legal for play in Europe, Oceania, Central, or South America if that Graphic Novel was specifically distributed there. (This is rare.)"

Read better guys. North Armericans don't have to care, it's importers who should be mad.

Doesn't mean I can't use this as evidence of the Hydrami theory.

What's Hydrami theory?

Screw you Konami.

Why!?

At least make a JUMP Promo booster for Oceania/Europe and stuff ;-;
...All they did was ban them in countries that didn't get them yet. I don't get what the problem is. North Americans are OK in terms of that.

Wouldn't this make it less of a money game in certain areas?
Yes, yes it would.

In full context, this is a smart move. Only allowing major areas/continents that actually have said cards released means eliminating the advantage to people who import cards from the US/Canada.

Could someone kindly explain why exactly this is a stupid move?

It's like OCG-only cards, the only way we have access to them is by importing them, which is just one of the reasons why we can't use them - it's unfair to those who cannot import the cards.

That same logic got applied to Duel Terminal stuff, since it's only available in 300 US stores and nowhere else but Japan.

The same logic applies here. If it hasn't been released yet in your continent/major land mass, why should it be legal for importers to bring in a card that you can't use yourself unless you import? Konami has no reason to care about the singles market in any case. It's no different, so saying that this is stupid is like saying the other two moves by Konami were stupid as well - which they honestly weren't.

My Epileptic Tree that simply states that the head of Konami is actually a sentient Hydra. Each time one of its heads is cut down, it's replaced by a more stupid one.

I regard it as such because Konami could just as easily print cards for all of the various South American and European regions (and thus show that they DO care), rather than take the easy way out and just ban them until they feel like it.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Even if they were to make them available outside the US, they'd likely still ban them until they were released.

It's still not a stupid move. It may be depressing, and annoying if you imported the cards, but it's an entirely sensible move to even things out in regions that don't have access to those cards yet.

its to benefit those who don't have access to sites such as ebay, trollandtoad etc...

so to make it "fairer" in that retrospect.

when in theory, it's a bunch a baloney.

if a player already spent the money on acquiring the cards, then he/she should be permitted to play them.
just cause 1 person might not be able (disregarding the fact they could get a friend to buy them) isn't enough to
justify illegalising all of those cards.....
