“McDonald’s use of toys undercuts parental authority and exploits young children’s developmental immaturity — all this to induce children to prefer foods that may harm their health. It’s a creepy and predatory practice that warrants an injunction,”
I remember McToys...just the Power Rangers The Movie/Lightspeed Rescue and Beast Machines ones.

When I was a kid, I was hell-bent on getting all 6 six rangers and nagged and nagged for more Happy Meals until I got all 6.

Same thing happened with Pokemon when Burger King released those stuffed animal ones in the Pokeballs and the gold trading cards. I was nagging my mom everyday for Burger King just for the toys, and my family wanted McDonald's. On the bright side, Burger King is my fave fast-food place after Taco Hell.

The point of this story? The argument made for the toy ban makes sense. But, it should be the parent's responsibility to say "no" to their brat and make them eat a chicken salad over a big mac or a bacon double whopper.

EDIT: Also, not every kid is the same.

I agree, I was much the same. The only reason I ever ate that junk was because of the toys.

From what I read, even the people involved found it pretty silly <.<... So... WHY?!
Because, the government wants to control our lives. Next, they'll ban free refills on drinks because soda has too much sugar and is too harmful to human health for a free refill.

Here's the truth of the matter in this^^^ situation.

If it's too harmful for a free refill, what about a paid refill?

HAHAHAHAHA.

Well, I can see in 10 years time, there will be no more fat children carrying little action figures or Hello Kitty plush toys.

Sure, the toys have gone, numbers will drop a little. However, it will not change the fact that kids do not know what grease and fat is in these foods. The grease and fat melts on our tongue therefore make it more then satisfactory to our tastes, people will keep going to McDonalds regardless.

I always thought the Toys would have been banned due to small parts that could cause a choking hazard rather then encouraging people to eat fatty food. Saying that, with toys as pitiful as the ones in the video below in a way I understand.

Only in America...sucks to be you, guise.

If this were another country it wouldn't get the same reply. Frankly what country it is shouldn't matter, and if you READ it... Even the people in the whole process found it idiotic. Not to mention it only applies to one area.

If people really care about obesity to such extremity to pass such a stupid law, why not close down every fast food place in the entire country.

um but meester dark thatd would hurt ours economy right har

What economy? I'm sure that many people believe the food industry is less important than stopping litle kids from getting fat. Even though it is both the parent's fault for allowing their children to eat fast food and the children's fault for picking such calorie-and-fat-loaded foods.
