lol we just cannot discuss this can we? allright I've learned my lesson. :P I humbly submit to moderation in this matter. :D One final note - I'm hearing that Solemn Warning is not played in multiples or hardly at all in the OCG like it is here.

That's because [s]they get all the good cards[/s] There are probably better cards.

DSF Was Lulzy. But Stay @0.

Refresh my memory slick. Which deck is that again? >_>

I'm not an expert of the deck, but I pretty much know it uses debris dragon with plants (dandy, tytannial, lonefire, glow up).

On what do you base your doubts?

... Not that I disagree. I'd just like to here where you got that idea from.

Partly from observation and Partly from listening to duelists who are more in tune with the competitive scene. What I've seen is that konami will ignore the game impact of an instant staple in favor of $$ and not that I blame them for doing it. They survived a global recession being that way.

If DREV boosters or DREV SE's are still being sold then they won't touch them. But if the sales are falling (I doubt it) then there's nothing stopping them from hitting the card. Also anytime I mention that they should be hit to most duelists they immediately fall to the ground and begin flailing their arms and legs in the air in a mad fit of toddler rage foaming at the mouth. (I could youtube that sometime)

POD reminds me so much of Charge of the Light Brigade and it survived a year before the SE was released and it went to 1. Solemn Warning is different. I keep wanting to compare it to solemn judgment. I just don't feel it will ever see a semi limit status. It will either be at 3 or 1 like solemn imo.

I view the banlist as tool for corporate profits more so than as a regulatory agency for game power cards and staples. And that's not entirely true either - there are very rare instances of logic and reason coming from konami. Those may be when the 11 yr old that dictates all decisions for the TCG falls asleep after playing all day with our future set rarities to pump us for dimes. I think banning heavy storm was a surprise step in the right direction in hindsight. It's been a really fun format - I'm in stall deck heaven.

Basically the formula I have come up with is this:
Konami = Eugene Krabs
Thanks Pika  Allright back to business at hand here on the topic. The OCG. They rule the banlist with an iron fist. I've touched on the financial factors that come into play in the random other wordly reasoning that konami employs.

For some odd reason whenever I use the words 'konami' and 'reason' in the same sentence I get a mental image of the scene from south park where major financial decisions are made in the govt by cutting the head off a chicken and where it lands is what they go with.

But there's another proven factor in our formats. The fact this is a Japanese card game and Our game is only distributed here from Japan. So the people who are making these decisions live in.... Florida. No. Japan. No wonder they care more about the tournament around the corner than the one on the east coast of the US.

Tournament results in the OCG aren't hidden - they're online and on rare occasion I will go to shriek and look. For some reason I'd rather see what Sephiroth and Evil Hero Neos are doing on here than anything going on in the OCG.

Hopefully your attention spans are longer than mine. My buddies are telling me that POD and Warning have fell from favor in the OCG. Why is that? Is it even true? Are legendary sams wrecking face?

IMO I can see them hitting.....

BWW- 0
Vayu- 2
MST- 3
Gateway- 1
PLZ- 2
Skill Drain- 3
Chain Strike- 3
Reborn- 0
Magicain of Faith- 1
Cold Wave- 0
XX-Saber Hyunlei- 2
Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn- 1

I don't even know if people still use Chain and Skill, and PLZ is not as good as it once was.

The Synchros aren't what breaks X-Sabers. It's Darksoul's search, Failtroll's spam, and Boggart Knight's insta-combo. Though, I doubt any of the sabers will get hit.

Heavy will stay banned. To be honest I thought that Dark Hole at 1 would seriously impact the game but I was wrong. Reborn will probally be swapped out for Premature.

If Call makes a comeback then Reborn will be banned again.

I do see Synchro support taking a hit soon, especially Tuners. Today's game seems to be who can Synchro first.

Call me insane but I predict DaD becoming Semi-Limited in the next Meta to try and tempt people away from Symchros :P

EDIT: Call is already Limited, but my thoughts on Premature still stands :P

lol They will never touch Mirror Force again. It can even reflect the banlist. It isn't called the Holy Barrier for nothing.

I honestly don't think they will touch Black Whirlwind. Just because they can keep topping doesn't mean they should be nerfed into oblivion. Just leave them alone; Don't buff or nerf them. Kill off Crow.

Put BRD back to 1. All the Starlight Roads in the world don't save you if you don't run them.

Put Oppression at 2 so Spaceships can come back. jk, I hate that card. I love Spaceships though so I'm torn.

I have a feeling that they will unban something. I hope that it's Tribe Infecting Virus.

OP updated. :P At this point cards like BRD, POD, Warning are jumping around our list like rabbits which is fine. I'm putting the list up for now and as people make their case for why a card may go to a certain position then I'll move it.

I don't know if BRD will leap back to 1 again although I do like it more at 1. Seph has made me think hard about warning. I put it at 1 for the list and I think it should be at 1 but will it go there in March. I'm saying no. but the consensus seems to be leaning that it will.

POD. No disagreements that if it's hit now, it goes to 2. Feel free to state your opinion and why you formed that opinion of where something will go to.

Still no import of information on OCG activities. I'm going to have to do the research aren't I? That's a lot like real work guys.;)

Magician of Faith, DAD - cards like that - I guess to include necro guardna and lumina - Are those more wish list than actual banlist prediction?

I could actually see konami easing up a little on LS. I left them up there.

DAD to 2. You don't want my opinion on that topic. It would take several paragraphs. I do like your reasoning - excess monsters - I can see that happening- but only if they put megadeath upon the synchro mechanic and this list suddenly includes several more tuners.

currently the entire banlist only includes 3 tuners.

ITT: banlist is made from TCG.

Only thing people have got right is Gateway to 1 IMO.

Konami won't ban it, they want people to still run six sams so they get money.

I could see shura but unlikely.

BWW maybe to 0, which sucks.

Reborn banned is a given because it happens every 2 formats.

But I'm not gonna call anything currently.

Also, DAD to 2, ARE YOU f***ing SERIOUS?!?!?!

I'm going to disagree. If he banlist were made based on the TCG X Sabers would have had hits. They have had flat nothing done to them. (rescue cat wasn't meant to impact them - he was being abused in OCG as well) Promoting a theme to move new product is one thing but acting as if Nats 2010 didn't exist is another. Banlist is made based on OCG. I'm sure Kevin Tewart does have limited input. When they have board meetings he's told to sit at the kiddie table and speak when he's spoken to.

I don't think DAD is going to 2. If anything he should go to 0. (were those flamethrowers I heard?) Rumors about the current state of OCG play that I've heard online are that the DREV staples have lost favor since the release of STOR. If that's true it's going to impact our next format. It could mean that Warning and POD will not be hit at all.
