Temporal Machine God Metaion (OCG Effect Revealed)

Recommended Posts

Temporal Machine God Metaion
FIRE/Fairy/10/0/0/Effect:
This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck. If you control no monsters, you can Normal Summon this card without Releasing. This card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Battle Damage you would receive from a battle involving this face-up Attack Position card becomes 0. During the end of a Battle Phase in which this card battled, return all other monsters on the field to the hand, and inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each. Return this card to the Deck during your Standby Phase.

Better than the anime version actually since they added a self-summon clause, the only special summon restriction is against using him with UFO Turtle and Flamvell Firedog, kept destruction immunity, they took out the no other monsters could be summoned part. The return to deck part is kept and the amount of burn is the same but now it returns all monsters on both fields and does damage from both.

Not abusable whatsoever but may make nice tech in something and interesting card design. Beats Legal RA and Cubic in playability for a magazine boss promo at least.

So... in exchange for the in-ability to be Summoned through UFO Turtle/Chaos-EndMaster/etc, it has the ability to be Normal Summoned through a Zero Machine-esque effect?
..........
Interesting that it returns all other monsters, and inflicts 300 to the Opponent for each one.
So if you summon a bunch of monsters, they also contribute to doing more damage to the opponent. Nice.

Run it in some sort of swarm/direct attacker deck. That's the only reason I can think of to balance out the fact that you bounce the whole field of monsters. If you're not running that type of deck, you have no reason to swarm because Metaion returns them at the end of the battle phase, and if you're using this for the bouncing skill, you probably aren't going to be dealing battle damage outside of direct attacks.

What to run this in? As it stands, I find no real use for this card.

You could always use Solomon's Lawboook, Book of Eclipse, or Book of Moon, to prevent this card from returning to the Deck, since G.B. Hunter isn't really an option, since it's returned to the hand. I'm pretty sure a couple of Mist Valley Thunderbirds would also probably help. But I'm not sure. But it still looks fun to use, with all the constant returning, that's if you can manage to keep him on the field, with consistent cards that would prevent him from being returned to the Deck. Maybe a Compulsory. Also, it looks like it would work slightly well with some strange engines, like some weird-o-version of Mist Valleys, or something similar.
