Masochistic Joker
Like the title discuss duels that you've had at school and what they use and whatnot. Three guys in my class have been trying to "perfect" an evil hero deck, a elemental hero deck with no main goal, and a neo-spacian deck. The even sadder thing is that these guys are the kind that go by the duelist kingdom rules which is really pitiful. I've been running Sephiroth's build on Lightsworns and they still think lightsworns are easy to beat >_> As said, discuss duels at college or in majority case, school. Toffee.
I'm going to assume they have decks that are loaded with B& cards, use a lot of 1s, and just generally throw cards in at random that they think are "good". Right?

~British Soul~
i used to know someone who's younger sibling watched the anime and wanted to run the main characters deck, in this case yugi, his friend wanted to run Kaiba's deck and another person they know wanted to run a joey deck. Legend Zero
I have to drive a ways for locals, but I don't know anybody else who plays in my city. =/ They sound like a friend of mine who thinks he knows everything about PC games, even if I show proof that he's wrong he won't sway. At my college I know people who play Magic and Pokemon, but no yugioh.
Mehmani
My school has a brilliant metagame with some surprisingly good decks: 40% 60CTH 10% Hopeless/Disaster Dragon 10% Exodia 10% Speed Synchro 10% Zombies 10% Machina 10% Endymion 10% Burn Census accurate as of last week. 10% = 1 person (I play Budget Zombies). Excluding all the 60CTH builds, everyone I've faced is at least decent. The Burn build was quite consistent and was lethal in a metagame where it was rare to win in 10 turns, Speed Synchro was very inconsistent but could kill in three turns, Exodia only ever lost two duels (both to me, thanks to siding Card Destruction & MJ [Michael Jackson Trolljar] in), Machina was a mediocre Machina build but decent and the Endymion build only ever played a couple of duels but won both convincingly. My Zombies are terrible (you can see an older build of mine here) but they get me by well enough. I'm probably the best player in my school (though that isn't saying much), so that helps compensate for my terrible deck.

If you offend new duelists then you are slowly killing the next generation of players. Keep cutting your own legs off like this yugioh and you'll have no game to play. on a side note: cool! HaouJudai
could we post some decent evil hero builds on this topic so 'masochistic' (wow there's your problem lolz) can help those poor souls out? I usually center my builds around the big 3 fusions Lightning Golem Malicious Fiend Dark Gaia and the Omni Heroes Shining Zero Gaia So you end up with this: 1 Clayman 1 Sparkman 1 Stratos 1 Ocean 1 BP Golem 1 Honest 1 Veiler 1 Gorz 2 Prisma 2 KoTs 2 Malicious Edge 2 Cyber Dragon 3 Neos Alius 3 Dark Calling 3 Miracle Fusion 3 Gold Sarc/POD 1 Future Fusion 1 Poly 1 Super Poly (thank you shining!!) 2 Mst 1 Dark Hole 1 Reborn 1 Book of Moon 2 Forbidden Lance 3 Decree 3 Absolute Zero 3 Shining 2 Lightning Golem 1 Malicious Fiend 1 Gaia 1 Dark Gaia 1 Terra Firma 1 Multipiece Golem 1 Cyber Twin 1 Chimertech Fortress Use Prisma here to mill a lot - remember he can also become cyber dragon for a quick poly of cyber twin - or if you're facing machina - change his name to cyber and suck them up with fortress' built in super poly (mwah haha) - prisma can also send ocean for zero and bp golem for either gaia or dark gaia and he can send malicious edge too - edge is an earth (NOT A DARK!) so it's build a yard workshop pretty much. Gorz can get stuck behind the decrees sometimes - you could put a caius there easily - oh and tell them to side 2 more super poly for maso's LS deck - the LS make awesome E Hero Shinings I hear
Tourmaline
Always play at school with my friends. We actually have quite a few people who play every, every day. My friends run: -Genex Synchro (Not that good) -Naturia -Aqua Beatdown/Neo-Daedalus hybrid that somehow works -Amazoness -E-Heroes -Cloudians (It isn't really complete) While I run Chaos, so it's a bit obvious that I'm the best there. I don't wanna go to my locals because it's 50% X-Sabers, 25% Six-Sams and 25% other stuff.
White Void
My college friends recently got back into the game and as I was the only one who knew what the hell I was doing, they often asked me for advice and stuff. Eventually I got them away from playing random 40 card Highlander, FIRE.dek, Black Luster Gadgets (which was amusing honestly), random Spellcaster, and Dark Blade.dek to stuff like Blackwings, Gravekeepers, Zombies, and Aliens. Big improvement, they actually argue about advanced rulings and follow the banlist now. I'm so proud ;_; I'm running Machina Gadget (going to change to Exceed Gadget which admittingly doesn't change the deck all that much besides 5 or so cards) at the moment so the match-ups are usually pretty good these days

Zauls
Well at my school, there are only a few people that play. The decks are: 1x Frognarchs (me, but I lend it to my friend when we duel because she is too poor to afford a good deck. Even Machinas is too expensive for her) 1x Burn (iHop) 1x Infernity (me) 1x Gravekeepers (without Recruiter or Royal Tribute XD) many 60CTH kids... So obv it's me and iHop that are the best. There is also one guy who is fairly good, but he's in 6th form and doesn't want to be seen dead with some kids playing children's card games... Shizuku Oikawa
I'm in a school with two lunch periods. The first one, has loads of epic meta players with a couple of fails. Second one, everybody, but one (best in school. Though, probably not anymore), are only less than decent at the game. Sadly, I'm in the second lunch period. And the best duelist doesn't even Duel during lunch, because he just spends the entire period hanging out with his girlfriend. I don't really talk to him anyways. Since he believes in false information. I once told him about the New Six Sams, and I said, "You don't even need any of the old ones, except Grandmaster", and he says, "Yea, you do. Because all the new ones are Level 5 and higher". And he said that monsters with ? ATK and DEF can be searched by cards like Sangan. Oh, and the worst part, is when I was up against his Naturia GigaVise, when I chained Seven Tools of the Bandit to his Solemn Judgment, and he says, "You can't do that. Solemn is faster and has a higher Spell Speed than Seven Tools." "How? They're both Spell Speed 3, and Counter Traps." "Unless Seven Tools said "Negate the activation of a Trap Card that targets a card you control", then it would work. The only thing that's fast as Solemn is Dark Bribe and (pretty much forgot what other card he said, so yea)." Though, one of my friends from the first lunch period, said that he traded his Glad Beasts for New Six Sams. Though, he doesn't believe me when I told him that he is supposed less than 15 monsters. All right, here is a possible list, from what I keep hearing people are running. The Players of the First Lunch Period 1 with Worms and Quickdraw Dandy Warrior (lol, he keeps asking for my Chevalier). It's funny, because he sometimes skips a period to my lunch period, by telling his teacher he has diarrhea the next day. 1 with Gravekeeper's and Naturia/same as above, but doesn't tell how me he manages to skip that period. 1 with Normal Six Sams, with couple of New Sams and Shien, because he couldn't get money for the pack, and got them by trade. 1 with New Six Sams, and Hopeless Dragon. There's more people, but I don't know them, so yea. People of my Lunch The best duelist, I'm not so sure of. Been forever since I played him. 1 with Beasts, who keeps telling me, "You should die", because he thinks it's funny. He also has no Synchros. 1 with a decent E-Hero Deck, but is inconsistent because it has 60 cards. And has, but doesn't run, or wanna trade Solemn Warning. Also, only has Gaia for generic EHero Fusion. The absolute worst one of all. Is. God, I'll even quote one of our talks. Me: Your Deck is horrible, what kind of Deck is that supposed to be? Guy: It's my Ritual Deck. Me: How? No Ritual searchers, no Advanced Ritual Art thing, no Djinns, its just a random Deck with Demise, Black Luster Soldier, and Relinquished, and you're using their actual Ritual Spells. And to him, a "good" opening hand for him, is, drawing 5 Spell/Traps, and Swift Gaia. Obvious first move is obvious. He's lucky that Heavy Storm is banned. Also, he trades a $20+(I believe) Mist Wurm from Hidden Arsenal, for a Malefic World, Blue-Eyes, and Malefic Blue-Eyes from the guy with the Naturia/Worms. Also, when he said he wanted to make a Yugi Deck, and we explained how much it would suck, he says "I'm only making it just as a collection set". There's alot more about this guy, but I don't wanna talk about this guy behind his back that badly.

wiithepeople
I'm the only duelist in the school. Nuff said. This Is because there's about 500 some farmer people, and about 25 tards/aspies (I fall in this category). The only other person I knew in the school played, of all things Quillbolt Loop. He was lucky on a daily basis. With the luck he had, I'm surprised he didn't move to Vegas or try to top a YCS. He's not much of a people person I guess. Just like me. HaouJudai
that so reminds me of King crouton's epic post, in the Shining topic
lol well you guys have turned the tone for the better - thanks for that - my point is that yes they are pw'n-worthy n00bs BUT they are buying konami's crap - for god's sakes don't discourage them from doing that! The more they buy the better it is for all of us. the first thing any of you should do - regardless of your social skills - is give them jank commons and encourage them to continue playing - I mean do you seriously think you'd ever lose to them? Focus instead on what konami does best - trolling for money my message is that sitting down and blasting them FTK with malefic cyber end only makes them mad and makes them want to rage quit. I don't care what anyone says - every rage quit hurts this community - well - TRUE rage quitting - most just say that and take a break for awhile and come right back - gambling is an addiction don't ya know? (yes - yugioh is gambling - another topic though lolz)

shadowferret
A lot of the people who play at my school are the same guys who I played during High School, so... yeah. Fredo runs an 86-card Elemental Hero/Neo Spacian deck that's inconsistent but can make cool plays, as well as a Fusion Gate Hero build with Chain Material and Macro Cosmos that he uses to enter tournaments (and does well with). George runs an X-Saber deck that's starting to become pretty good, a semi-decent Blackwing deck, and a deck I built for him that's built to summon Shooting Star Dragon/Majestic Star Dragon a lot. Bryant uses Lightsworns, FIRE, and Genex... possibly the worst player of us. James runs an old Crystal Beast deck, a Spellcaster deck, and a Trap Monster deck, but his Main is Six Samurai. He keeps bragging about the time he got 12th in Regionals with the Six Sam deck. >.> Then there's my girlfriend Marie who uses Fortune Ladies and Fabled, but she only plays for fun so she won't let me build her deck to be faster and stronger. ._. And then me, I run Infernity and Burn. After all that, there's random people at school, one who has an Infernity deck with Ccapac Apu in it, one who uses an Earthbound Immortal deck, and another that uses Plants.
