~British Soul~
Sometimes I wish Astral would say to Yuma before he summons Hope: "Yuma, wait! Hope may not be the best card to use in this situation." but Yuma would just be stubborn and say: "I'm using Hope anyway Astral." I know it's important for the main character of a series to win using their trump card, but they have to shake it up a bit more. I was watching the latest episode raw, and I keeping a close eyes on the silhouetted monsters, mainly the ones behind Alit and Gilag. That hand-like thing behind Gilag is obviously his Number card (Number 106) and the silhouetted monster behind Alit is his Chaos Xyz (A Rank 5 Burning Knuckler most likely) I liked the look on Gilag's face when he was forced to pair up with Yuma because of Shark's sudden "convenient" disappearance. Watching the preview for the next episode, and it seems that Misael attacks and duels Yuma near Roku's Duel Sanctuary.
But how in the world did they even get brainwashed in the first place?!? What were the circumstances of their brainwashing?
Gilag flashed Barian's Force in front of them.
Premier Alexander Romanov
OK. But do you want to know what pisses me off even more? There will most likely be no negative repercussions. Two of Yuma's friends just got brainwashed, and I bet he doesn't even get fazed. This episode is more pointless than Dog-chan's episode.

Premier Alexander Romanov
It seems like the ZEXAL writers really dropped the ball regarding Tori's cards. The other females in ZEXAL: Kathy: Cats that burn/stall and get out different Xyzs. Anna: Big-ass trains that make Rank 10s. Dog-Chan: Dogs with an awesome Xyz. Droite: Butterfly Assassins. Rio: Ice Birds. And Tori has...a little fairy, a cheerleader fairy, and a pallet swap of the cheerleader fairy. How original.

evilfusion
Okay, so ignoring my month-long absence from here, I haven't read this thread much. I watched up to like...episode 6 or 7, I don't remember which one offhand, but it was Rio's Duel. I'm currently PRAYING that the plot gets a point soon (although a skim of this page suggests that yes, it finally will). Now, because I have a lot to complain about with the episodes of this season so far, here we go. Episodes 1/2: I was okay with these, similar to how I was willing to give Season 1's episodes a chance despite a slightly rough start (The Dueling in the pilot episodes of Zexal 1 was so absurdly over the top, notably Yuma summoning Zubaba Knight). I liked them for the most part, but they're not as memorable as Season 1, which had Shark and Number 17. Episode 3: Okay, I hate the new character already. He's annoying. The plot of the episode was okay, and the Duel was actually not that bad, with a few issues. Summoning Terabyte turn 1 was unbelievably epic, considering that Terabyte was the unlucky early Number in Season 1, in that it was one of the few Numbers Yuma ever acknowledged owning/considered, that nevertheless never got played. (When Hope and Leviathan got swiped by Tokunosuke in episode 5/6, Yuma noted the only Number he had left was Terabyte. After Episode 14, Yuma never Summoned another non-Hope Number, and while Leviathan Dragon got referenced from time to time, the other Numbers he had were never used). The WDC final was the first time Terabyte got played since Episode 4, and this episode, it actually got PROPERLY Xyz Summoned (not the effect of Sphere Field). Episode 4: WTF is this?! This episode was dumb. And it's a shame, because I liked that council chairman at first, mainly because of his monologue at the beginning, made him sound kind of interesting, and gave him a reason to dislike Yuma. But the Duel...oh my god. That was dumb as hell. And at this point, I'm starting to find Barian's Force to be a very boring, uninteresting "twist" to each Duel. Episode 5: ARGH! Another stupid character. Why are all these episodes using uninteresting one-shot antagonists that have been brainwashed by the exact same card, and will cause some sort of conflict just to Duel with their completely uninteresting gimmicky Decks that will never be released because they're not even remotely developed as part of an archetype or theme? Thankfully, Shark's Dueling, but the Duel is dumb, the setup is weak, the character opposing him is bland, and I'm now officially sick of Rank Up Magic - Barian's Force because the Chaos Xyz are boring, and WHY is almost all of them focused on BURN DAMAGE?! Seriously, Rank Up Magic and Chaos Xyz are demonstrated to be able to destroy Numbers. The ability to destroy Numbers without a Number of your own takes away the broken advantage a Number holder has against a non-Number holder. Why do the Chaos Xyz also tend to be Burn Damage focused? Especially if the non-Chaos Xyz are Burn Damage focused? That said, Rio made the episode better because I was greatly amused by her remark to Shark when he was losing. It showed part of her personality, and I liked it. Episode 6: Episode was okay. Oh. My. God. STOP WITH THOSE DUELS! I'm bored as hell with one-shot antagonists with a dumb gimmicky Deck that has no RL potential, the obsession with Burn Damage, and the fact Barian Force is becoming a JOKE of a threat. Seriously, the last six episodes have focused on this powerful, brainwashing card that gives a player the ability to Summon a monster capable of ripping Numbers apart. But except for episode 1 and 2, they've been one-shot episodes created on flimsy setups to Duel against unmemorable characters with boring Decks just to showcase a Chaos Xyz which in itself is unmemorable and have no real significance to either RL or the plot of the show beyond "Barian is trying to kill us again". Rio dueling was cool, though. And I really like her personality, particularly her response to Yuma during the Duel when he kept calling her Shark's sister. Oh, and I agree with the male characters: She is inhumanly adorable. Okay, so I didn't watch episodes 7 or 8 yet. But I'm looking forward to maybe a purpose to the plot soon. Numbers in Season 1 were at least relevent, since obviously they'll all get released eventually, and Numbers are in themselves part of the plot, whereas Barian and Chaos Xyz are being shoehorned in to buy time or whatever. Being one-shot episodes, there's no real tension whatsoever, and all the antagonists are being brainwashed, so there's not even a real conflict. Jord200
Yeah. Really the only amusing things to happen in Zexal to are Yuma using 34, Rio becoming a important, even Shark thought the most recent episode was a waste of time, and finding out the Barrian World has boxing, based off Alit's cards. Also Misael looks like a girl. Worse than Rally in 5ds.
Imo, Rally was worse, at least Misael has some plot importance, so what if Misael has an earring on his left ear. The only noteworthy things Rally did was steal a computer chip and conceding a duel using Turbo Cannon's effect, also in the latin american spanish dub of 5Ds, Rally was always referred as a she. Sleepy
Rei is most likely going to be Antinomi from 5Ds. It's so odd that he is so easy to ship with Yuma. It's kinda sad but, he looks more promising than Kotori, being more proactive and probably about to get baddass in the future by teaching [s]accel synchro[/s] something.... or IDK.... evilfusion
Really, it's hard NOT to see at least something from Rei x Yuma, the same way it's almost impossible not to see something in Yusei x Bruno. It doesn't matter if you're a shipper or not, those two "couples" are the definition of Ho Yay. I don't necessarily support the idea, but I can see why some people see it as such. And darn about the episode. Ah well, watched episode 8 subbed. It was okay. Amusing in its own way, and there were at least 3 small parts I had to watch again purely because my aloud response was "...what?". For example, Kotori saying "Ka...ching" when insulted. Um...what?
