Icy
Its a simple question(s) really. But I want you to talk amongst yourselves (and I may join in depending on time I have to spare). If you play a Card Game other than Yu-Gi-Oh!, what Card Games do you play? If you do, why do you like it and what about it makes it equal, worst or better than Yu-Gi-Oh! to you? Have you ever wanted to create your own Card Game? If so, detail it as you please but attempt to just summarize. Also, it might be worth noting that. If you wish to create cards from other card games, feel free to post them inside Any Other Cards. I have never once had a problem with it. However it was never brought up, so yeah. Answer any of them as you please.
Simping For Hina
For about a month I played MTG and I found it more constructive and ongoing thinking during the battles. But now I just collect.
Ieyasu Tokugawa
I've played Pokemon before, and one of the more enjoyable parts is that there isn't really such thing as an FTK or OTK. I haven't done it much, so sorry if I'm a little behind on it guys.
Tourmaline
I've played both MTG and Pokemon, although I have much more experience in Pokemon and very little in MTG. Now, since I'm assuming you're recruiting help for making a card game, know you have my absolute support and I will help if it is needed. I'd want to be a part. What I disliked about MTG was how the games felt less refreshed after a game. I mean how, in Yu-Gi-Oh!, every duel has so many paths it can go through. In MTG, it felt a bit more stale. More thought provoking, but stale nonetheless. Note this is absolute subjection.
Sunshine Jesse
might as well sneak in a post before I go to bed.
If you play a Card Game other than Yu-Gi-Oh!, what Card Games do you play?
I played the Pokemon TCG back when it first came out and dabbled in MtG a bit.
If you do, why do you like it and what about it makes it equal, worst or better than Yu-Gi-Oh! to you?
The Pokemon card game was rather fun but a bad deck matchup made games agonizingly slow. At least the problem is reversed in Yu-gi-oh in this day and age. It was definitely worse than Yugioh when I tried it but I'd love the opportunity to get back into it. When I tried MtG I decided to stop playing it because, as much as people deny it, it's basically the same as Yu-gi-oh in several ways, such as an overall lack of skill involved in the game, unless my girlfriend who has played for years is just flat-out awful >_>; I didn't feel like learning a game that was only slightly different to something I already knew and enjoyed, especially such an old one.
Have you ever wanted to create your own Card Game? If so, detail it as you please but attempt to just summarize.
I've imagined Yu-gi-oh with a better resource management system but as far as a totally new card game, no.

Althemia
I pretty much play no other card games beside this one, although I have been meaning to pick up Cardfight! Vanguard. I have been interested in creating my own card game, however I seem to lack the willpower to think of all the rules and mechanics of one on my own. Notable ones I've bothered to work on (That you know of, anyway.) are the Warlord board/card game and the MK one which I helped with.

I'm iffy on rotation system though, but seeing as it's once per yer now, it's not much a problem. .Rai
I've played Pokemon and Duel Masters (you know, that obscure Japanese TCG that no-one plays) before and quit after a week or so of them. Yu-Gi-Oh! is still my favourite TCG, simply because it's a very diverse game but also deceptively simple. Also is the fastest TCG with a worryingly big amount of FTKs and OTKs out there. The other 2 TCGs have their own quirks and advantages too. Pokemon is a slightly more faster version of MTG but is still not as fast as Yu-Gi-Oh!. Duel Masters is similar to MTG but has an extremely different and diverse playing-style. Defensive decks, unlike in the other TCGs are much more viable. MTG, never played but I'm interested in it after the Strategy section recently introduced the discussion of other TCGs. Any OTKs do take a lot of set-up as Klavier said. I don't actually play any TCGs IRL anymore but I'm still really interested in the concept and strategy of each TCG. Making a TCG myself? I've had ideas but it's hard to implement any truly original ideas without them being too complicated. Klavier, tell me what you're doing with Griffin Please? Icy
As for me. Ive played nearly every casino card game, Magic The Gathering for a year, Pokemon TCG dabbling, Duel Masters, the World of Warcraft and Neopets TCG, attempted to get into the Dragonball TCG, Digimon and Naruto ones. I want to get into Vanguard. As well as a few online ones. When I see a box, I'll be playing the AQW TCG. To save time, I won't say the individual things xD. But each has their own unique thing that I found interesting. Sadly not one stood out enough for me to focus on it over Yugioh. And yes I have, a couple actually. My current one however is the Mortal Kombat TCG.
Well, Griffin wasn't on for a long time, so we didn't have time to discuss stuff over, but so far, we have this: There is no Life Points or such. The only way to win is by deckout. When you would take damage from attack or effect, you get "wounds". Then, at the start of your turn, before you draw, you "bleed", AKA mill from the top of deck equal to the wounds. Most common cost for effects would be returning stuff from Grave to deck, so you're never on advantaging/losing position, as when you have many cards in deck, you can't use most powerful effects, and vice-versa. You don't make decks from individual cards. Instead, there will be card packs, let's say 10 cards each. When you build a deck, you just choose, for example, 3 packs and assemble them to form the deck. Also, we had an idea for funny mana system, but for now, I don't want to spoil it, as it's in alpha phase

.Nu-13
When a player is not able to draw a card, they lose. So the more you mill your opponent, the faster you'll win. However, at the same time, you fill their resources, so they can use the most powerful cards

I have wanted to try MTG, but alas I do not have the motivation or friends to do so with. If it doesn't have to be actual cards, but rather online card games, then it's the above plus Element, a browser-based TCG. I've played another one based on Castles, however, I didn't like it that much. I'll post the name here if I can remember it. The Maple Story TCG was completly different that what I have played. The Pokemon TCG was meh, I prefer playing the actual games over the TCG. Element felt like Yugioh and what I assume MTG would feel like, and the castle one was just lame. D.A._Sakuyamon
Lets see, I'v played Yu-gi-oh of course both online & off. MtG offline, a really epic game if I say so myself. Digimon, yeah digimon, still have the original starter Deck. I didn't care much for the Pokemon game and had only like fives games worth & that was when it first came out. Oh yeah & Naruto wasn't to bad. I have made my own card game before, all the cards were hand drawn & cut out (still have a few). It was basically like Yu-gi-oh but it had more of a gambling aspect to it.
J-Max
If you play a Card Game other than Yu-Gi-Oh!, what Card Games do you play? I often play Magic the Gathering using the Wagic program for my PSP. Have all the latest cards as well (Over 10000) If you do, why do you like it and what about it makes it equal, worst or better than Yu-Gi-Oh! to you? One thing I enjoy about Magic over Yu-Gi-Oh is the fact that Cards require a Mana Cost from 5 Different Pools (6 if you include Colorless) All Cards come with a Mana Cost rather then having to Tribute or play Spells & Traps to Special Summon monsters. Also Magic requires a bit more Strategy in leaving some Mana left in your Mana Pool before ending your Turn (Especially if you are running a Blue Counter Deck) My Current Deck consists of a White & Green Mix. White Spells & Monsters are used to Gain Life and to boost other monsters that I control. Green is all about Swarming anf most larger monsters come with a Trample Ability. Trampling to me is much better then Piercing in YGO. I sometimes play with Blue but am not a huge fan as it mostly revolves around Counter Spells. Have you ever wanted to create your own Card Game? If so, detail it as you please but attempt to just summarize. To be honest, every Card Game idea i've had seems to take ideas from YGO or Magic. I mostly work on making cards for the current Meta of YGO & love designing effects of my own that are playable yet very fair. I take great pride in my Field Chibi concept for example with the Ability to act as a Field Spell & Monster. If I was to design my own game? I would make it based on Dominoes. Where Cards are placed Sidewards or upwards against each other while comparing effects. COme to think of it, would be more like this! I would have a lot of fun designing effects for all sides of a card.

Master White
1st) I've played yugioh, pokemon, magic the gathering, and Weird & Wild Creatures with my Cousin, its very similiar to yugioh, I mean very similiar, except the ATK/DEF is 1-100 only.... 2nd) I played pokemon first and I didn't mind it. I played it b/c of the pictures....Then I moved onto the yugioh with my cousin....at first, i was like this is stupid b/c they didn't know how to play. Then after awhile, I got mad b/c I kept losing, even after they learned how to play the right way, and I went and got my own cards....Well, anyhow, list of likes and dislikes A: Disliked the Archetype part of yugioh and etc. B: Disliked the the summon requirements for MTG. Disliked the creation of White in MTG, as it should represent something other then what it does. C: Disliked the the Creature pictures in Weird and Wild Creatures game... A: I liked in Yugioh everything else except that people kept making decks you couldn't keep up with...same with all other games I'm sire. B: I liked the fact in MTG there was colors. I played white when I did, the friend taught me how to play, I picked up quickly. C: I liked that math was alot easier and no silly traps and spells to hassle with.... So My main thing is, I liked all 3 and couldn't choose, but If I had to, it would be Weird and Wild Creatures b/c it was alot easier then the other 2. 3) I've tried and still working on making a new card game, I have ll of it down, I just need really great graphic designers and figure out where I can sell my card game idea to, its actually like playing world of Warcraft, only with cards...Kind of a no turn basis card game.
