evilfusion
Yuma's an idiot. His opponent not only gave him the MATERIALS to Summon Baby Tragan, but also suggested he Exceed Summon. Hmm...nope, not planning something. This card is absurdly conditional. It should have been activated against any Exceed Summon, not specifically Baby Tragan. Also, I'm not sure if Hope has the negative effect in the anime, especially since the anime's giving it the "Can't be destroyed except by No. monsters." Also, not even sure if the anime includes the "No materials, no direct attacks" effect for Revise Dragon, either. Yuma forgets Hope's effect because he's bad at the game and only had the card for 1 duel, only for it to disappear until the next No. Duel. At least in episode 2, he asked if Hope had an effect. In episode 4, Astral had to remind him. Which made me wonder about episode 5: Does his opponent have a No. Monster? If not, how was Hope even in the Extra Deck? Are they only available if Astral is present or, as previously thought, when a duel involving a No. is going on?

Premier Alexander Romanov
This shows how stupid Yuma is. 1. His opponent gave him a specific card before a duel. 2. His opponent gave him the materials needed to summon that card during the duel. 3. His opponent suggested that Yuma should summon that card. Didn't that seem in any way suspicious AT ALL?!? I mean, if my opponent didn't seem to have any other strategy other than getting me to summon a card HE gave me, Admiral Ackbar would be going off in my head!!!
Well, he got the card indirectly from him, so he didn't realize he was the source. Being harassed into taking the same card like 6 times in the same day and then receiving the card from another source would still make me suspicious. But hell, Yuma really wanted an Exceed monster. The other two points are so blatantly suspicious that the only explanation is Yuma is an utter moron. Yuma was going to end his turn and then was told "Wait, you're not Exceed Summoning Baby Tragan?" *alarm bell blaring in every intelligent player's mind* "Oh right, I can do that!" *proceeds to do it* I can't decide whether that's picking up the Idiot Ball or just in-character. Then again, Yuma deliberately sabotaged himself in the previous duel purely because doing so was ignoring Astral's advice, so it's more towards the latter. Dr. Cakey
I haven't seen this episode yet, but honestly, what the hell is with Yuma? It's possible to be bad at the game and not actually be attempting to sabotage yourself.
evilfusion
I haven't seen this episode yet, but honestly, what the hell is with Yuma? It's possible to be bad at the game and not actually be attempting to sabotage yourself.
He really finds Astral annoying. So when Astral tried to give him advice during his duel with Ukyo, he explicitly said "I'm not listening to you. If you say do something, I'll go the other way! You said Summon this, I'll Summon the other one!" Astral just started telling him to do the dumber move, and he promptly went with the smarter one without even thinking about it, purely because Astral told him either not to do it, or told him to do the other move. This included Astral saying "Don't bother Setting your Trap card" and "Don't use Hope's effect" against a game-winning attack.
Premier Alexander Romanov
So the key to Yuma's strategy is having some guy only he can see use reverse psychology on him?
evilfusion
Well, the alternative is he doesn't think his moves through at ALL. He sucks at the game, and hates advice. So it's like the My Deck section. Astral was just able to nudge him into not being an utter moron by...taking advantage of the fact he's an utter moron. Though the bigger question is why the hell is there a card that requires your opponent to run baby tragon <.<

It has no purpose in any practical sense because it relies on your opponent HAVING Baby Tragan, Assembling the material for Baby Tragan, and WANTING to Summon Baby Tragan. Yeah...and Baby Tragan is adorable, but horrendously mediocre.
Premier Alexander Romanov
I have lost all hope for ZEXAL. I initially thought it was a good idea to have a duelist who wasn't a prodigy, but they instead made Yuma have the IQ of tapioca when it comes to dueling. Don't they realize how much they have alienated their original fanbase?!? The Pokemon reboot at least kept most of its old players because it allowed backwards compatibility, but the creators of Yu-Gi-Oh! have decided to screw the following they had and try to market it to people with mental disabilities!!!
