dat name change :( , i prefered Des Rabbit
Well Konami has to be consistent with their translations. Death Rabbit was Death Usagi, same deal as the frogs. Although, I wonder if there are any other Usagi cards.

Edit: Found one. Inaba White Rabbit is an Usagi card. Huh. Konami kind of screwed themselves with that one. Inaba White Rabbit was an obvious allusion of the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland so it should definitely be translated that way. Then Konami released cards who are explicitly named Rabbit in the OCG (Blade Rabbit, Rescue Rabbit and most likely Wind-Up Rabbit). Tricky tricky.

i was talking about the 'Des' part, even though the 'Des' cards have no synergy between each other, the kanji/katana was probably different for them to exclude it from the 'Des' archetype
It's not. They probably plan to retcon all Des monsters into Creepy monsters. As stupid as that is.

Where we see a face in the moon, Japanese tradition sees a rabbit making mochi. Which honestly is about 10x as awesome. But yeah, that's the origin.

Well, Konami knows that 'Death' isn't going to become an archetype. 'Desu' has been alternately transliterated as 'Des', 'Doom', probably some exceptional single cases, and now 'Creepy'.

tl;dr just don't think about it.

Inaba No Shiro Usagi is a completely different story of a clever rabbit who tried to cross the ocean across sharks' backs by lying to them that he will count the number of the pack. In the end they found out he was lying, and he was badly hurt by them, but he was saved by Yamata-No-Kami and helped him look for the perfect bride.

awks.

Konami can obviously mix and match legends.

Horribly nevertheless.
