Xyz Disappoint

Recommended Posts

Xyz and Synchros are a completely different mechanic. Xyz are very control based (for the most part) and definitely require more skill in some cases than Synchros do. You can't introduce a new mechanic and expect it to rule the game completely from the getgo. Even when Synchros were first released, a lot of them were far less good than the ones we have now.

The two are really virtually incomparable. They have different aspects of design for the most part, and they have different mechanics. They both, however, play a tremendous part in the metagame. They each have their own perks and downsides.

So far, though, I'd say the good Xyzs are almost as good as the good Synchros, if not just as good.

Good Xyz:

Rank 1: ... Galaxy Queen?
Rank 2: Gachi Gachi Gantetsu, Daigusto Phoenix, Black Mist
Rank 3: Leviathan Dragon (Some decks still like him more), Leviair the Sea Dragon, Wind-up Zenmaines, Wind-up Zenmaighty, Sacred Hyades (Read: Ptolemy Fodder)
Rank 4: The 5 Verz are at least okay, Sacred Beehive, Utopia, Vylon Disigma, Steelswarm Roach, Lavalval Chain, Daigusto Emeral, Armored Ninja Blade Heart, Utopia Ray (Sorta), Kachi Kochi Dragon, Conqueror of Color - Shock Ruler, Evolzar Laggia, Evolzar Dolkka, Evigishki Merrowgeist, Gem-Knight Pearl
Rank 5: Volcasaurus, Tiras, Keeper of Genesis, Sacred Pleiades
Rank 6: Inzecter Exabeetle (Sorta), SACRED PTOLEMYS MESSIER 7, Magi Magi (Star.JPG) Magician
Rank 7: Big Eye
Rank 8: ...
Rank 9: Non-existant yet
Rank 10: Super Dreadnought Cannon Express Gustaph Max

Of course they're not all splashable, but each and every one of these are, at the VERY LEAST, usable, at least in their own decks ._.

Forgot Black Mist btw. And yeah, I personally feel Xyzs have had a more positive effect on the game than Synchros had.
