Cheap Mothra imitation [Perfect Great Moth]

Recommended Posts

One of my first cards ever, alongside Negate Attack and Riryoku (they were packaged in the GB game The Sacred Cards).

Card is beyond terrible and nearly impossible to bring out, probably even back in the day of slow formats.

- Requires the pathetically weak Petit Moth (300/200).
- Requires the mediocre Cocoon of Evolution (0/2000) in hand.
- Equip Cocoon to Petit with its effect. Petit's stats change to 0/2000 (so if you have Petit in Attack Position because you Normal Summoned it, it's in danger).
- Cocoon and Petit must survive for EXACTLY 5 entire turns, including the turn it was equipped, and on the following turn, you need this card in hand. Draw this too late, you can't Summon it. Have it too early, you still have to wait.

In exchange, you have a 3500 beater that does nothing else.

It's too slow, takes too long, is too vulnerable, and then doesn't even do anything aside from have 3500 ATK, which isn't even that impressive when facing removal options.

It's similar to why Larvae Moth is honestly considered THE worst card to ever exist: It has the exact same Summoning issue as this card, although it can be Summoned the following turn you equipped Cocoon. Except Larvae also has no other effect, and its stats are 500/400. Cocoon of Evolution itself jas better stats than Larvae Moth, and Petit on its own is only slightly weaker.

Reminds me briefly of its cameo in Season 3 of GX. Somehow, Chaos Sorcerer (one of Haou's duelists) managed to bring this out against Zane, who had Cyberdark Dragon out (at 3300 or something, no less). It was then beaten by Cyber End Dragon.

My question: How the hell did he bring this out without being crushed in an instant?

Gravity Bind? Then Heavy once this was out.
Maybe?
Card is horrible.

Seeing as Zane fusion summons roughly once each turn, I think it may in fact be statistically impossible.

I can see Weevil flying into the Earth's atmosphere, turn golden, and make Cocoon of Evolution hatch into Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. He would then attack Gaia the Fierce Knight for game.

Summoned Skull. Your argument is invalid.
