If by "Work together" you mean "Have everyone charge in blindly whilst Lewis picks off enemies from a safe distance with his Bow" then yeah, no problems with working together.

Now that I think about it, everyone here is speaking in Japanese right?
So logically, no one SHOULD be able to understand Lewis if he were to speak in English.
Or am I completely wrong?

Exactly, so then Lewis will have no problem with "Working together"
Because he can just be safe and pick off enemies from a distance.
Whilst all those stupid close-combat weapon users charge in and get their asses kicked.

But I see what you mean, but someone may be able to, just make sure you specify when he's speaking in what language, or to make things simpler, just let everyone uinderstand everyone XD
