[/quote] Interesting enough, some companies release the entire series after the DVDs go out of print. Marvel uploaded the entire X-Men Evolution series. Bandai uploaded all of Zeta Gundam and Code Geass. WEP uploaded Voltron and Golion. Manga uploaded some old movies. Funimation uploads some anime too. Killing the website was the best option for them. However, by introducing more opportunity costs (i.e. the hassle of creating your own website, learning to code, etc), this will raise the quality by reducing the amount of people who do not spend time/effort into their own productions. Youtube promotes people mindless "spam" videos that include a re-hash of "top" stories found on OTHER SITES and conclude by saying "rate/comment/subscribe" and "post to facebook, g+, twitter, etc." along offer prizes for doing so, because the ad money from said videos outweigh the cost of the prizes. This allows for subpar, decent content to be produced, because as long as you are popular, people will still watch your videos. Another thing he mentions is that the law itself is badly written. As for his other points, he does make good ones. Should the government be allowed to police the internet? I do not think they should. However, this isn’t such a clear cut case. By not protecting the producers of the content, you ignore their freedom as well. They have a right to use their own words, thoughts, expressions, etc and charge what they want for it (There are more economics involved here than I want to get into/know about). Let’s say and artist, A, produces an album, B. A pirate, C, sees B online, and instead of paying for A’s work spent on B, illegally downloads it for themselves. They’ve taken A’s intellectual property, and have used it for their own purpose. This infringes on A’s right to be rewarded for making B.
