Can you take the pressure? [Spell and Trap Removal]

So, there's a huge amount of Spell and Trap killing winds now, including cards like "Wild Tornado", "Double Cyclone", "Twister", "Chain Whirlwind", "Mystical Wind Typhoon","Tornado","Storm", "Dust Tornado"...

And then we have the real major players, Heavy Storm and "Mystical Space Typhoon".

With 3 MSTs running around, I find myself not even bothering to set traps as an opening, because almost all of the time they just get blown away.
How does the rest of YCM feel about the sharp decline in trap practicality?
Does MST need a hit so that non chainables aren't phased out?

Discuss.
Honorable Mention goes to Giant Trunade, A.K.A. Hurricane, but with 3 Calls that would be getting insane.

I do think there's a bit too much Spell/Trap hate this format.
Solemns, Torrential, and few times Bottomless, are about the only think I ever see set, and actually, I almost not see the non-Solemn ones.
Cards like Mirror Force are spotted on casual only so far (at least for me).

I'm not saying a format like the one with Heavy was good, but this is the other extreme.

Every deck cab run up to 6 f***ing continuous traps. Sometimes even more.

Inzektors and Rabbit would often play 10 or more traps.

What do you mean by "sharp decline in Trap practicality"?

Pretty sure very few of those actually resolve without getting MST'd/Beam'd/Heavied,and with laggia you have a lolbroke negator protecting them.

Set 1/2,get MST'd.
Set 3+,get heavied.

Just put MST to 1 or ban it,all of the best formats including everything pre-PTDN and post chaos and march 2010 pre-TSHD had 1 MST and 1 Heavy. I dont really think there's a problem with heavy, but there IS a problem with the plays that come after heavy like inzektors/whatever.

It just seems to me that anything set on the first turn gets killed the very next turn. But maybe I'm crazy.

Decline in Traps?

Heroes run 10+ along with numerous quick-plays, Dark Worlds run 10+, Inzektors run 8-10, Rabbit runs 7-10, Wind-Ups run 5-10, heck the only deck in the big 6 that doesn't run them is Dragons. 3 MST is healthy as f*** for the format, and it's not like running a card @3 means you'll always get it, in fact odds are against a player opening with either MST or Heavy.

Inb4admiralackbar.
Even with the variety of S/T hate, people mostly play Typhoon and Heavy. That's ok, but back when those were lacking, it was interesting to see what alternatives people found helpful for their decks. I miself, as the regular opponents included Morphtronics and Six Samurais, decided for Fairy Wind, as they run several face-ups. Only remarkable moment was when I chained it to Backs to the Wall.
In my current deck I run Heavy, a couple Typhoons and Fenghuang.

Is playing conservatively without worry that your Opponent can counter really considered a healthy gamestate? That's the only vibe I ever get from these gorz set-5-and-pass format arguments. Though I do agree that Gorz is a bit too much of a pick-me-up-outta-the-bowels-of-hell-and-kill-my-opponent.
