The Seal of Orichalcos

Recommended Posts

I could actually see this being thrown in a few decks solely on the virtue of being rather difficult to get rid of. 500 ATK isn't exactly negligible, so any decent monster (i.e. Rai-Oh, Rush Rhino, etc) suddenly becomes a lot harder to run over, and getting rid of it might be considered a priority as a result. Given this takes at least 2 cards (with some exceptions I.E. Caius, Solemn or another Field Spell) to get rid of, I could see this being really good in a lot of decks that are particularly weak to the abundant S/T removal this game has (or the aforementioned Caius, but those are a lot rarer)

Probably just grasping for straws here but w/e

It just sucks in every good deck this format, but I wouldn't be surprised if it boosts a few of the worse ones up a tier.

And I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Konami was going for.
We also didn’t want to take Decks that were ALREADY winning, and make The Seal a “win more” card. (“Win more” cards are cards that, in theory, could help anybody, but in practice just help the people who are already winning.) If The Seal was able to give additional strength to the Xyz-heavy, Synchro-heavy, and Special-Summon-spam Decks that are all the rage these days, it would just drive independent Decks further underground. But what if, instead, we could use The Seal to give a boost to those independent Decks, instead?
