Monster Reborn

Recommended Posts

Monster Reborn, truthfully, punishes your opponent for graveyard overextension (mill mechanics that generate too much advantage), and I feel that it is necessary evil in this current meta.

Logic is a little obscure, really.
I mean, topdecking Reborn to revive whatever game-winner boss they "convienyently" have in their Grave, totally isn't a lucksack at all.

First of all, couldn't help but notice your awesome sig.

Second of all, though I don't like topdeck Monster Reborn, the card can stay where it is because at least requires some thought for full use.

Wait, it does?

Situation: Your opponent has Scrap Dragon in the Graveyard, 2800 LP left, has one backrow. You have 1 other card in your hand, plus Monster Reborn.

Monster Reborn can turn a game around in the blink of an eye. It doesn't require any more thought than Tour Guide to run properly.

I wish Konami would do remakes.

Monster Resurrection

[ Normal Spell ]

Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard. Its effects that activate on the field or in the Graveyard cannot be activated until your next Draw Phase. Only 1 "Monster Resurrection" can be activated per turn.

Well, lets break down the obvious for what it does:

1. Plow-Through-Backrow enabler. Keeps your combos going even if your monster gets killed by warnings!

2. Summon a monster, play Reborn, look through your Extra Deck and slam down an Xyz or Synchro monster (whats that again?) you need and proceed to win the duel!

3. Game lasted more then 2 turns? BETTER START TOPDECKING. Oh hey! Remember that one-of critical monster that was destroyed a few turns ago? HERE IT IS AGAIN LOLOLOLOLOL.

4. Destroyed your opponent's monster? NOT GOOD ENOUGH. SUMMON IT AND KILL THEM WITH THEIR OWN CARDS! Yeah, Grapha the immortal MY ASS !

5. Oh no, you milled my only 2 copies of Rescue Rabbit, how can I possibly win now............ *enable rage shield*

6. Gain ALL Normal Spell card support in the game!!!!1!!!!shift+1!!!!one!!!!

...Pretty much all those reasons are, more or less, luck-sack game gg

Everyone complains every format about the same cards

dark hole

reborn

okay, these cards are MILESTONES of yugioh. They won't go away.

Milestones of yugioh?

You mean like Pot of Greed?

No, that's not a reason at all to keep them. Them being well known doesn't mean anything in regards to the banlist.

This card brings back bosses at no cost as +0s, and has a lot of versatility on where the targets come from, what sort of restrictions must the monsters have to be revivable by it, and you always have various targets to choose from. It's easy and thoughtless. It was barely alright for it to be legal back when it was made, but now that the game has gotten so many more refined alternatives for specific cards, this could safely go away. It's one more card that reinforces the idea that the Graveyard is pretty much like a second hand to a player.
