Dragunity Knight - Trident

Recommended Posts

Someone on DN thought you discard from YOUR Extra Deck, to do the same to the Opponent.
Guy left, after I told him otherwise.

Anyway, it's effect is pretty original as far as Synchros go, and it can be a game breaker if given the right scenario.
Shame it was paired with an archetype that didn't need it >___>

Yeah, the most ''efficient'' way is to normal summon Pilum to special Militum and then unequip for synchro.

It  is ok for what it does and can easilly end games when played against decks that need any special extra deck monster in order to function properly.

It's pretty underwhelming.

It rarely does anything at all. Against something like, let's say, Rank 4 Decks, if this were to take out 3 of them, they'd still have around 11 more to go, and even if a key card at 3 was disposed of, you just -3 yourself for eliminating something your opponent has the option of not doing. Even if it is something like Level Eater that you sent for it's cost.

You can easily make this card a minus 1 upon the second use by combining call of the haunted + level eater. However, it does use up 2 monsters upon it's first summon (in which case you could attack (same as you would with black rose should you for some reason not want to use its effect) and then possible use it's effect by only sending itself).

Alector, Sovereign of the Birds + any of the dragunity level 2 tuners and 2 level eaters in your grave will get you a simple - 2 (or -1 if you used a dragunity to ss phalanx as the tuner) for its first use.
