(4000 ATK)

If you Tribute Summon this card, the Tribute must be Dragon-Type. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: This card gains ATK equal to your opponent's Life Points. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Normal or Special Summoned. This card cannot attack your opponent directly. If this card is destroyed: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK of this card

Dat Totem Dragon.

Discuss.

Umm... the wiki has the effect being a lot different. And arguably better:

Yeah, the anime effect must also allow for Special Summons, because Number 46 Summoned it.

Also, totally broken if released as is. It has 4000 ATK, so if it was Normal Summoned, even by requiring Dragons, and attacks an opponent's monster with 4000 ATK or less, you deal their LP as damage.

So the anime effect seems fitting if it can't attack that turn. But still...that's just broken and terrible design. If released outside the anime, it'd be nerfed badly.

Whatever happened to the Blue-Eyes barrier of ATK.

That effect would still be too good if it had 0 original ATK.

In the anime, there is less insentive for this to exist, looking at how it's ATK is twice the starting Life Points. Whoever designed this was trolling.

I thought the Blue-Eyes barrier was for Normal Monsters. Although now that I think of it, I suppose it's the barrier for monsters without Special Summoning Conditions or massively detrimental effects (Ultimate Obedient Fiend).

Yes it's mainly set for Normal Monsters. Though effect monsters with over 3000 ATK are for the most part either:

-Nomi/semi-nomi monsters

-Have a big drawback

-Only surpass the 3000 by a little bit (like Super Conductor Tyranno) and don't really have much support going for their spam.

This is Normal and Special Summonable, has good stats (Type, Attribute, Level, ATK, and even the DEF) that will give it lots of support, goes way over 3000, gains even more ATK, and has a drawback that is not really all that great looking at how you can trigger it yourself and it'll burn for 4000 in the anime, and 6000 IRL.

I consider the Blue-Eyes barrier not as an exact ceiling, but as an approximate to the sign that "beyond this point, you are mainly generating OTKs with that design".

Tachyon Dragon has over 4000 ATK?

Also, Tachyon wouldn't be able to negate the burn damage effect. Lastly, Number 46 is cackling at Tachyon and Photon Dragon.

I don't exactly mean under the duel's circumstances.

Just comparing their effects on paper.

>Tachyon can cancel this thing's ATK boost, and match its own ATK to 4000.

>Number protection would let this die and let it live.

>The burn effect would then kick in inflicting the 2000 it would currently have, and allowing Tachyon another attack.
