When this card destroys an Opponent's monster as a result of battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can Excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is a Plant-Type monster, send it to the Graveyard, Otherwise, place it on the bottom of your Deck. If this card is excavated from the deck and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can add this card from your Graveyard to your Hand.

Issun, is that you?

OT:  It's a nice beater, but he should be able to excavate more cards in battle rather than just 1.  However, I do like how he adds hand advantage when excavated.

it need to excavate 3 or more cards to make it decent tbh, since it asking quite a bit for the conditions to be met.

In the end all they only replace is "reveal" with excavate. I thought it will summarize things a bit.

So...I was totally right. Excavate means "reveal the top card". It does shorten card text, though. Rather than "Reveal X cards from the top of your/your opponent's Deck" it says "Excavate X cards from the top of your Deck".

...that extra ink better be used for a good purpose.

Instead of "reveal the top card", it's more like just a replacement for "reveal", actually, since it still does mention "X cards from the top of your Deck" regardless.

Also, the word "reveal" is shorter.... =/

I could have seen it with replacing a whole phrase. Something like:

"Excavate 1" = "Reveal 1 card from the top of your Deck". That'd be more what I'd imagine.

I like the addition of key words, but this one better be just a sort of "beginner's lyrics". Just like MTG explains it's terms in the core set prints, but doesn't in the versions of other packs.
