Althemia
I think it's about time we have another discussion on this card again, especially since it's felt like ages since we've actually brought this guy up. With the way that the game is being pushed, I can see this card coming back to 1 soon in the TCG. Seeing as how Konami is pushing a lot of S/T activation from the hand as of late with stuff such as Tachyon Transmigration and Maiden of Lost Paradise, it could mean they're attempting to alleviate the kind of impact that Heavy Storm would have on the game were it to come back. Not just that, but the lack of Heavy Storm has proven that pure hate decks can literally just win because they're playing purely hate and there aren't a lot of good counters to them other than stuff such as Heavy Storm. That's not exactly what we should consider healthy, especially since Heavy is far better for the game than the hate decks that it spawns in my opinion anyway.Of course, it could easily just not come back due to it being such a power card, but that's mainly down to personal opinion. What does YCM think about Heavy Storm?
Wildflame
I'd like it to return to 1. I've had my fair share of set 5 pass formats, this card forces smarter play than that. And maybe we can have more copies of the good Traps again (wishful thinking...)
Loyalist
You know what? I actually miss this card. Simply because people just mindlessly set their entire hand. It's like you don't even have to think about it anymore. When heavy was at 1 I would think carefully about what cards to set (usually if I have 3-4 I'd set 2 unless my opp had some cards set also). evilfusion
I remember thinking this card was a necessary evil, that needed to exist to promote a style other than "Set 5". But ever since its TCG ban, I've enjoyed games far more, simply because setting 2 or 3 cards isn't an inherently risky play. Granted, I rarely play with or against super-backrow heavy Decks, but I don't miss Storm. It just nets too much advantage and punishes your opponent for having backrow. S/Ts are much harder to recover from when wiped compared to monsters. That said, Artifacts will probably see GREATLY increased play if Storm comes back. Zauls
I think it should and will come back. Konami is definitely trying to decrease the impact it would have if it were back. Hysteric Sign, Artifacts, and that from-hand stuff. They are also pushing Evols with a card that makes Laggia by surprise and Laggia negates Storm. I think it would be best if this came back to 1 and they put MST to 2. I would quite like that ratio.
Toffee.
Way I see it, this card is basically in the same boat as Oppression. What I mean, is the fact this card will be used as winmoar, more so then 'Oh, hey, I'm just clearing your backrow because you set 5'. The whole dividing line between that, is because Storm will randomly be tossed out against like 1-2 Spell/Traps, just to make a game-winning push afterwords. Where as instead, the opponent would be getting punished for setting their whole hand all at once(Artifacts aside, of course).Or something like that. Dog King
If this comes back then it means either set 2 and lose them to heavy storm, or set 1 and lose it to mst and I didnt really like that and I feel like this being banned is fine. That's why I said this should come back only if MST goes to 2. Having all 4 of them would be too much and people would basically stop playing backrow, but 3 is fine. Your post is also implying that every time you set 1 your opponent has MST and every time you set 2 they have Storm, which is ridiculous. There's obviously the risk that your opponent does have Storm when you set 2, but it is against the odds and you just need to play your backrow smart and you should be fine. Or just play Artifacts or Harpies. Then there is the whole Starlight Road thing, which creates interesting mind games. The sheer existence of Starlight Road has meant that people have MST'd one of my backrow before Storming the other, even when they didn't know I was playing it! Neutrality Man
It's coming back. Set 5 is less vulnerable since a Set 5 open could be Artifacts now. I don't think you want to Heavy that
Slinky
Honestly, most balanced ratio imo was back in the Synchro Era. 1 MST 1 Heavy Storm Trunade was still around though >.> In that format, pretty much every deck had a sizable legit chance. TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
It shall not come back yet, due to Pendulum Summons being based on Monsters that are treated as Spells (like continuous) on the field. The state of the game is irrelevant; supporting the latest and greatest new cards for profit is the only goal. Then, after one more format, it can come back. Aerion Brightflame
I would love for them to print and then print and immediately limit a version of heavy that denies the OTK potential Heavy gave. Since without that, it was a skillful card as opposed to being degenerate. I mean, that was essentially the only deal with Heavy was that it just promoted OTK after OTK after OTK. Otherwise I never want to see it back again for good reason. I'd prefer grindy format to the general tends of Heavy formats.
Dr. Cakey
Christ no. Banning Heavy was one of the best things that ever happened to this game. I hope it doesn't came back for a long time, if at all. Although with the arrival of Artifacts, Konami might be considering it.
Solemn Silver
I'm the kind of guy who plays backrow heavy decks, so I'd hate for this to come back. Mainly because it would force me to run bribes or starlight in the md and I don't want to have to use precious space or lose consistency because of a card to counter one other card. imo, keep it banned. Sleepy
On the bright side, blind MST is virtually non-existent with Heavy gone. Though grinding through huge backrow is annoying. Rather than have heavy come back though, I'd appreciate a replacement that fixed what's wrong with Heavy, because as much as the current format can get to abuse backrow, Heavy is also not OK on it's own right. I'd personally like a limit to the amount of Set S/Ts you can do per turn, just like Normal Summons have a limit. It'd make one think about which one is best to set, even if all there is is good staples. That's how Battle City's manga worked actually, and it seemed interesting. As for conforming with what we currently have, choosing between Heavy or no Heavy without taking into account the chance of a future card for this.... The backrow is pretty generic, but it's not too much to handle, as annoying as it can get. Besides, we might get the new turn 1 rulings soon anyways so the first player with a chance to set all will have less stuff to do.

Like a more generic, "Destroy All" Dark Magic Attack, involving Life points or the face-up card count or something? Either way I prefer the TCG this way. Catterjune
The one thing I felt was "good" about Heavy Storm was that it stopped all that degenerate crap that slowed down the game. But honestly with Bottomless, Compulsory, Torrential, Warning and all that other generic stuff limited, I'm fine with Storm being banned forever.Regarding a "nerfed" storm, I'd probably like one that said something like "You can't Special Summon or attack the turn you use this card". goddamnit names are a pain
I think it should come back. Having to nit pick with which Continuous Spells/Traps to MST and stuff is kinda getting on my nerves. Also, the whole "I could MST this but it wouldn't do much" when Heavy would actually do something. I also reallllly like the card. I mean, people might be more cautious if it were to return due to things like Artifacts. But really, I am freaking butthurt to Fire Fists and Fiendish, though the latter is easily solved. 玄魔の王
I'm torn on Heavy. On the one hand, it's a card that opens up a ton of OTKs and generates a lot of advantage by itself. On the other, I hate grind games and set 5s, so...
goddamnit names are a pain
Also did I mention I am sick of the back row decks have access to? But then again they would just activate Tombs or Barrier anyway, so.... But the butthurt I have for Solemn and Bottomless is the main butthurt I have. Ban those 2 (among others) or bring this to 1.
