Herald of Perfection

You can Ritual Summon this card with "Dawn of the Herald". During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect: You can send 1 Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

 

Had it out since Turn 1, screwed over the Constellar deck. Next turn I drew Kristya and it was pretty much GG from then on.

Every deck has its twat card. If we banned everyone the game would severely suck, IMO. 

I mean this wipes out every deck on the planet, if you think about it. I guarantee you that every deck either has a consistent minor threat or a inconsistent major threat.

 

It's a great card, but only works in specific decks and is inconsistent as hell.

Being only usable in a single deck doesn't excuse it necessarily. If it's consistent enough to cause trouble, it deserves to be hit.

 

The one thing saving this is how the deck clogs with Vanillas and a hand that cannot bring this out turn 1 will probably just lose the game.

Which is a terrible deck idea IMO, and multi-chainability sucks.

Or it doesn't have sufficient ATK to stay on the field and run over things while in Attack Position, so you're obliged to run Kristya not only to stop all SPecial Summoning shenanigans but plow over anything your opponent can manage to summon or turtle.

 

tl;dr = It's a wall. If it were 2800 ATK, then sure -- but it ain't.

I still believe that HeraldOfPerfection.dek is one of the best decks in the game. I really need to rebuild it. Actually, I should try building it IRL. Maybe it'll spark my interest in lolcals again. When I was playing it awhile ago, I had more fun with it than any other deck i've ever played.

how is control bad for the game?

 

oh wow, I played a card that can't kill you, if you play true agro and don't rely on combos to bring out your giant creatures. this card can't win a game without help, and on top of that it's not super ultra consistent. it is stupidly easy to play around this card, if you actually think, instead of just paying derp derp combos all day long.

 

I have literally beaten this card over the course of 2 turns, doing nothing but summon a level 4. summon a second level 4, second one is a tuner. make red dragon archfiend. and ran it over. its so freaking easy it's not even funny. the issue is everyone is so effect crazy that anything that stops them repeatedly is "bad".

learn to adapt, or just accept that control beats combo, it's how these games work.

 

the very fact that a player would assume control is bad for this game, is what is wrong with this game.

You don't know how the deck functions do you?

It utilizes the Djinn for the ritual summon to also lock off Special Summons for your opponent only. Meaning, you don't get to use that precious RDA to run it over. More importantly, the main field generally also consists of Christia. When you have a hand of fairies, herald (summoned by Djinn) in DEF mode and a beater. its game. There isn't a single thing you can do to stop it.

Then explain how the deck functions, oh wise one. I'm sure we are all interested to know the secrets.

 

you use manju and sonic bird to grab advanced ritual art to go into herald

then with stuff like venus you fill up your grave with fairy stuff and get to summon krystia

then you have stuff like factory of mass production to recycle your fairies to use herald more or even to get another rank 2 from venus

trying to get a combo off tour guide+dawn+herald isnt that great

There is a very wide difference between "control" Decks and "you-are-not-allowed-to-play-this-game-because-I-sacked" Decks.

the same class I'd put bujin in, since both decks work around negating what your opponent wants to do while building a field able to finish off the opponent.

the difference is only that bujin use a bunch of cards to say no, while heralds use one.
