Ra’s Disciple
Light Fairy / Effect
LV4 1100/600
When this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon up to 2 “Ra’s Disciple” from your hand or Deck. You cannot Tribute Summon monsters, except for Divine-Beast-Type monsters. You cannot Special Summon monsters, except with “Ra’s Disciple”.

Based on the article that comes with the pic, as said in the above link.

Wasn't there a rule on these forums that you can't CaC Divine-Beast-Type support?  Well if this is the actual effect of the card, so much for that.

As for the card itself, it's a nice instant 3-Tribute for the Gods, but it's missing some key features to really make the Gods more effective Summons, like a Double Summon and affording protection to the Gods.

FFFFFFFFFFF- You can't play this off Summoner Monk.

(You can, but you don't get the effect)

By the wording, it sounds like a continuous effect rather than a Pot of Duality restriction.

Might just be bad translating, but what we have says you actually CAN get it off with summoner monk.

I'm not too happy about that rule existing anyways so that's good.

Yes people make stupid things much of the time, but the excuse to make that move was that cards in the actual game don't have it so it's not "realistic". My problem is with the excuse, because as long as something is not a joke card, too much of a reference/pop-culture material, and covers the balance check it shouldn't have restrictions just because the IRL game hasn't done something. If discarding cards didn't exist in the game IRL it'd be unrealistic to try to step on that terrain as well... would that be restricted too?

OT:

I consider it an issue that the lock-down potential with Creature Swap might be more prominent than the God Tribute Summoning purpose it should be focusing on.

As is, either Double Summon or Photon Lead could help it, but it's an extra minus to take into account and I'm not too happy about that when you add it to the chance that you might draw more than one and Plaguespreader's trick would probably not work as nicely as with Malicious back in the TeleDAD build.

Oh hey, its an instant Number 102

Loving it.

Unless I am somehow misreading this.

Its either, You cannot summon monsters other than through his effect, or you can only special summon using them as the means to do it. So confusing~

You cannot Special Summon monsters, except with “Ra’s Disciple”.

how is it an instant anything other than divine beasts?

I'm just going to say, that at least from Lily and I's perspective when we were mods, we never said you couldn't support Divine/Divine Beasts.

Just that you can't make a NEW Divine/Divine Beast/Creator God, because they're quite clearly reserved for the 3 Gods and Horakhty.

See, thats the thing, it doesnt say with "THE EFFECT OF"

So, it can be inferred either way. Its unclear as to what it means.

There we go, on wiki it says

When this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon up to 2 "Ra's Disciple" from your hand or Deck. You cannot Special Summonmonsters, except "Ra's Disciple", and you cannot Tribute Summonmonsters, except Divine-Beast-Type monsters.

And, worst part, it doesn't seem to end, so you can't special summon ever again. lol. That better be a mistranslation

Think of it this way: If the effect implied that "You can't Special Summon unless you're using Ra's Desciple as a means to do so", then his effect to grab two more would be entirely pointless because that's not a special summon using Ra's Desciple as a means of summoning the other two.

What are you on? It's a continuous effect.

  1. Discard Obelisk, Special Summon Hardened Armed Dragon
  2. Crash Shining Angel to Special Summon this.
  3. Spam just 1 more with Ra's Disciple effect
  4. Monster Reincarnation, discard ____, recover Obelisk.
  5. Normal Summon Super Obelisk

Like Ra, this card would be better if they ditched Ra's 1000 LP pop effect and kept the Tribute Stats instead of what they did.

6. Your opponent Normal Summon Ra's Disciple, not activating its effect

7. He then activate Creature Swap, bye Super Obelisk
