Maeriberii Haan
It's because many a relevant decks run a shitton of backrow removal, so it's a huge risk now.
Trebuchet MS
The fact that this card doesn't discriminate between both sides of the field makes for some interesting form of removal. Opposing MST targeting it? Chain it to the opponent's face-up monster and watch their face. Need something to blow up with Scrap Dragon? Same thing. Throw it into an Uria Deck for more hilarity. Zauls
I would probably play it in Scraps if I ever played the deck actually. No idea about the deck though and it might not have room. Honestly the best uses for it are with Key Beetle and to destroy your opponent's monsters when they hit it with an MST or whatever.

Armoire
It's pretty cool with Midrash, too. If it gets destroyed, Midrash won't.
Blake
It's pretty cool with Midrash, too. If it gets destroyed, Midrash won't. Please, go reread Midrash, right this second. Because you're incorrect. Safe Zone's currently a mediocre card with way too much drawback for not enough pay off. Only good if you can Key Beetle it, and even then eh because things can still target Safe Zone. Not to mention non-targetting removal.

%phil
there is nothing on midrash's text to stop it being destroyed by safe zone which is never an opponent's card.

The implication of the first post was that you use it on your own Midrash, which phil here also appears to have construed. So pointing out that they may have possibly been speaking in a completely illogical manner and saying the opp for soem reason targeted Midrash is moot. %phil
wasn't paying enough attention when i read the_engineer's point, sorry. fact remains safe zone is only good when there's something that can really abuse it and atm that's only key beetle. in a format with 3 mst it's not good enough to run unless you have something that really wants protecting/can stop safe zone beign destroyed. Neutrality Man
Make this field. Laugh whenever your opponent tries to destroy one of them. proceed to Power 66 up with the other 4 (Field)Spell/Trap zones
Blake
Make this field. Laugh whenever your opponent tries to destroy one of them. proceed to Power 66 up with the other 4 (Field)Spell/Trap zones wow a terrible 3 card combo relying on level 4 DARKs, which are overall shit, especially Evilswarm, a shit card like Imperial Custom that has no other use and is inconsistently live, and Safe Zone, a card that has losst almost all use modern day. Castel just utterly wrecks this. You're only going to have 2-3 other backrow and answering that isn't impossible by any means.

J-Max
Opponent tries to destroy your card? Activate this.... Getting annoyed with an opponent's monster? Activate this and then MST it. I Have 1 of these in my SIde Deck just incase I come up against said annoying monster..... How rude I think he was just trying to sum up a funny lockdown (not impossible to beat however) That's Black for you. Trust me you get used to it lol. Key Beetle + Safe Zone is captain obvious, including a shit card like Imperial Order is a mediocre addition to the lock that doesn't help it in any way. Toffee.
Guys, there is a difference between something being effective, and something being efficient. The above combo looks good on paper, but it's situational and typically slows you down in the process. I mean, yes, Beetle is always on-hand and you typically just need Safe Zone, but why do you need Custom as well? Zone is already iffy, given the context of the current metagame, and Custom would be a dead card outside of that(As previous stated).Speaking of Zone...Considering it's a 5D's-era card, it's likely going to appear in that 5D's pack thing, which would be very nice.
