Steelswarm Roach, is it viable

Trying to get back into Yugioh again after a year and every game there was some high level beatstick fusion, ritual, or pendulum. Last time this card was even sorta useful was when Synchros were still big and Xyz's were a new thing (so like 2-3 years ago). Qliphort and Nekroz both bring out huge high level monsters (to my knowledge, whole new game to me), so I was wondering what was the communities' thoughts abotu this card.

Pretty much the same thing.

Ikr why do people even run #52 when Armored Bee and Injection Fairy Lily are things lol. Or Cairngorgon when Shift exists. Castel was never good because we have PWWB/Back to Square One. Big Eye is terrible because Mind Control and E-Con.

Srsfacetime: Being in the ED instead of the Maindeck is a major boon. You don't ever have to worry about dead-drawing Steelswarm Roach, while being available to you whenever you need it. It also has the added bonuses of not being mandatory and not offing itself for the effect, though Crusader does get to work against Special Summoning via effects.

Yeah, Roach has pretty much no use now. Does nothing against Nekroz, little against Qli, it is just a minor annoyance to BA. Not worth the slot. If the high level beatsticks of these decks are annoying you, try things like Vanity's Emptiness. Find ways to stop their plays before they make them. Mistake is a common Side Deck card (even being mained sometimes now) that stops combos in their tracks. Roach is definitely not the answer to this meta's problem cards though.
