It's still unclear how exactly it went down, but the police union did not make things better as they called the protesters a "lynch mob."

Flash Flyer - Sakura
We know the National Guard had to be called in to keep order, in conjunction with imposing 10 pm curfews. Yeah, I can understand why they're upset over the issue; but this is no way to solve things. (Then again, Ferguson wasn't that long ago) That being said, it did result in 15 cops getting hurt among other things. In a nutshell, the situation is basically crap in Baltimore, and deja vu from the last incident involving police brutality against African Americans. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
So I just saw this on the news. And dammit it's messed up. Even the guy's family called for peace and yet there's a group of idiots who refuse to listen and keep up the violence. That's just extra terrible. T. Sankara
Dude was cool. But apparently, despite him not resisting arrest, he "mysteriously developed a spinal injury" after being taken into custody. That's fishy as fuck. I don't agree with rioting, but damn if they don't protest.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
This is purely hypothesizing on his injury, but I suspect it's due to either the officers in question throwing him in the back of the patrol vehicle with brute force, or they beat him somewhere during the short time frame after the mobile video. For now, those seem like probable reasons as to how Freddie Gray got injured. But again, I'm not a medical expert so can't say with absolute certainly (the most this will be is just a guess). Hopefully, they figure out the real cause later on. Indeed, they need to make their voice heard (because this isn't the first time a black man has gotten into scuffles with police); but property damage and other unlawful behavior certainly isn't going to get results; at least, not positive ones at that. Actually it's kinda cool but the ABC news story I saw before posting focused a lot on the people who were gathering to promote peace, it was nice. Especially as they showed off several people who looked like stereotypical "thugs" but focused on how they were some of those who were gathering to stop the violence. That's precisely it. I'd say roughly 40% of them are protesters, and the other 60% are rioters.

I Hate Snatch Steal
quote myself: Since it appears that the black rioters are ready to use lethal force and act like complete savages, even against innocent people and property, I hope the armed forces are ready to hold nothing back and be just as ruthless when dealing with them until order is restored (by "them" I mean the savages who are attacking police and innocent people, NOT anyone who is peacefully protesting or not involved). Those savages chose to escalate this into anarchy & riots. Lets hope its their last mistake. I hope Baltimore is ready to fight back and not hold back. edit: If we have the technology to stop all these people without killing on the scene them then that works too. I don't know if such things exist though. On the subject of police "reform", white people do get unjustly killed by police officers, undoubtedly some of them black, but it never makes the national news. edit: Since some people like to twist words, I will clarify: When I use the descriptors "white" and "black" in this post, I am NOT trying to describe or stereotype an entire race I'm merely describing the race of the people involved in whatever that sentence is. See my next post for details.

ihop
There must be something wrong at the heart of the US police force because far more people, white or black, die than should be normal. Over 600 people were killed in the US by law enforcement officers last year, which is an awful lot considering that in the UK there were 26 and in Germany there were 8 in the last two years. There may well be racial issues in the US but one has to look at it as a waste of life above all.

First and foremost, I'm starting with you. You wanna race bait, fine. But this isn't the fucking place for it. Let's look at some of the bolded points and why it makes you look stupid, shall we? BLACK Rioters - Do you honestly understand what you just wrote? Clearly you don't so allow me to ask a different question. What does the color of skin of the rioters have to do with them being rioters? In what twisted little world do you live in that the color of a person's skin defines their actions? Because right now, ya done fucked up. Regardless of who these scumbags are, black, white, hispanic, alien, dinosaur, it is irrelevant what their race is. Because they are people (except the dinosaur, as far as I know). You don't need the adjective to describe the person. They already have a description. Rioter. Looter. Miscreant. Pointing fingers at their race is uncalled for, and pretty fucking low. by "them" I mean the savages who are attacking police and innocent people, NOT anyone who is peacefully protesting or not involved - You just contradicted yourself, dumb dumb. First they're only black rioters, but there's no blacks peacefully protesting or not being involved? Stop straddling the fence and tell us how you feel. Either label everyone, or stop labeling people. If you were a decent human being, it would be the latter. WHITE people - There it is again. You're labeling people. You're putting a brand on a life. And that's the fucked up part. Killing someone unjustly is already an issue. Throwing race into the mix makes the pot boil over, and now you've got a steaming pile of shit all over the stove of the United States of America. Stop it. In regards to this, labeling rioters, dividing victims by color of skin? Fucking stop. The last part is true. There was a white man in Pennsylvania. who was unarmed and killed by a police officer. The officer was charged with homicide but you don't see people protesting in regards to that death, now do you? Heck, all you see the news report on cops is when they shoot someone or beat someone or some mistake happened. The news loves that. I don't think you quite grasp the concept either, even though you're almost there. Let me break it down a little further. This gentleman from Pennsylvania, who was unarmed and killed by a police officer, saw his case brought to court, and the police officer sent to prison I assume. While it is true that people should be in uproar about it, I can logically assume that is because the officer was indicted that people were satisfied. The case was brought to a more definite end, where as, in a lot of recent cases you may see, police officers charged with similar crimes end up walking. THAT is what the uproar should be about. And before anyone jumps on the "I HATE COPS" bandwagon, shut the fuck up. I'm not here to bash police officers. I'm here to let you know there is a difference between individuals. And not every police officer is out to harm you. There must be something wrong at the heart of the US police force because far more people, white or black, die than should be normal. There may well be racial issues in the US but one has to look at it as a waste of life above all. This is the grand scheme of things. Lives are being wasted. Thrown away. Shattered. But here we are, human fucking beings, sticking little red flags all over their corpses to identify the color of their skin long before we identify them as human. When you stop seeing color, you learn to appreciate and understand people. Regardless of who they are. Not every person will be big hearted, kind, and loving. They could be fear mongering, evil spirited assholes. But even if you hate them, they are still people. And you motherfuckers need to learn that. Quick. They could be fear mongering, evil spirited a******s. But even if you hate them, they are still people. And you motherf***ers need to learn that. Quick. 1. Way to twist my words around. Your implying that adding a simple descriptive adjective to my post means that I'm condemning an entire race? Or that its immoral to even use such descriptors? If someone asked you what color skin the rioters have or what race they were, what would you say? Where in my post did I say that all black people (or any other group) are the same and that all of them are guilty of these crimes? I know full well that there are well meaning law abiding black people in this world AND people of other races who are just as bad as those rioters or worse. 2. The point I was trying to make was not to use such force unless someone is actively dangerous e.g. if they are trying to kill someone, including a member of law enforcement. I was trying to contrast my view to a Hitler-esque genocide where innocent people are killed on sight if they have a certain property. 3. A common theme in the discussion of this issue is that "Only black people are killed by police unjustly: its racist". I was trying to present a counter example to that. Once again you generalize. As for your last point. Adolf Hitler was human. So was Osama Bin laden. However they should not be shown any mercy for the wrongs they've committed. However I won't deny that those example are arguably more extreme. I feel the same lack of mercy should apply to terrorists, since they are bent on seeing our country destroyed. This feels very similar. I judge based on actions: In my eyes those rioters condemned themselves when they committed crimes.
~ P O L A R I S ~
As wholesome as some of you seem to think it would be to deny that race factors into the context of the Baltimore riots, it's delusional. There's a disproportionate number of black people in prison, more than enough to suggest that black people are discriminated against by the police. It is from this truth that the Baltimore riots have resulted, the individual cases of police brutality against black people (of which there happen to have been quite a few) being sparks to the powder keg. It is not a case of raceless people rioting unprovoked against the cops on grounds unrelated to race. It is a case of people who are discriminated against fighting their oppressors because no one else will, and using violence because no other language is getting through.
