Judgement Dragon

And you're not the voice of a glorious generation, smugly casting aside the jeers and cruel taunts of the haters, but no one's calling you out for that.

But, to simplify things for you, I'm going to make a comparison to show you why JD earns its hate. JD is what you could liken to a record scratch. A ghastly, annoying noise that ruined the whole enjoyable tune before hand. Record scratches have no place, are completely different from before, and tend to be really annoying. For this comparison, lets liken to CyDras. Many people most likely like CyDras. They're a fun little quirky deck that can be quite enjoyable to play with, and possibly against. But then the record scratch rears its ugly head with CyDra Infinity, a giant space flea out of nowhere that pretty much became the focus of every CyDra deck, and anything that can run Ptolemaios. JD is in the same vein, as when he's put into a deck, he's the focus (probably). You go for him and only him as you realize one thing: As annoying as that record scratch is, you've heard it enough times to tolerate it, and then decided to use it on other people to annoy the shit out of them.

I'm not saying that's the mindset of everyone who uses those sorts of bosses, but some do use them for that very reason. Without those record scratches, the music plays as normal, no interruptions. But then, listening to that same track over and over again gets dull, and you kinda wish that scratch was back there to liven things up. However, regardless of those who tolerate it, those record scratches are nothing but a repeated irritation to other people. Those who have been forced to listen to that god-awful scratch on repeat. You call yourselves so high and mighty, thinking yourselves so above everything, when those who hate certain cards do so for a reason that may have only started as salt, but has evolved beyond that as that one wound get opened up again and again and again. I hate JD because many a time, I couldn't stop it. I spent so many resources to just stop losing the game against whatever boss they dropped on me, to the point everything I had was exhausted once they inevitably topdecked JD. It's a thing that happens a lot, despite what probability tells you. (This coming from someone who has some of the worst luck in the game.)

And, let's be fair here, a LOT of aggression was generated by RulerSworn. I think that's fair enough to hate on this card when it was highly searchable for over a year, and so often resulted in you getting your ass fried without you being able to stop it. RulerSworn was a horrible time, and I am very much glad it's gone. I'm not going to stop hating JD just because the deck is dead. Because, eventually, something else will come along to let you abuse it again. The trap obviously isn't it, but it's a chilling sign of Konami's intent.

Once again:

You're not everyone, as much as you want to believe. Not EVERYONE hates JD. Not EVERYONE calls them Sacksworns/Scrubworns. Not EVERYONE wants to hang any LS player in public.

It's just you sailty haters.

But there is haters out there. Even haters from the time when Lightsworns dominated. They have a right to their opinion (as do you to yours). JD will always be a hated card to me for the reasons explained on Page 1. Also I have a more cute Petname for the Deck Lucksworns.

this is rich. I am keeping this quote. I love this quote.

Really though, you realize how silly you said calling him salty?

Oh so HE can call people salty and not sound silly. Do you realize how stupid you sound. Sounds like you are trying to ride his dick more than anything, especially since this guy has used the world salty at least 10 tines itt

It would be better if klav didn't try so hard to whiteknight the deck. Salty LS main can't handle the truth

He doesn't main Lightsworn. He just knows that it's pointless to get upset over a decktype because it just makes you look like an idiot.

I find it funny how he is the one that gets the most riled up over these things and it actually makes him look far worse lol.

But i agree, there is no real point to express your feelings of hate towards this card, it exists and that's it, you cant change that.

It's also pointless to whiteknight a poorly designed archetype like it's life or death.

You people are fucking insane elitists

Honestly, I like the card where it is for budget players.

Since it's in a Structure Deck, it gives players who can't shovel out hundreds of dollars a solid boss to use on $30+.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if they did the same for other controversial decks from years ago. Konami's top decks will always be far more devastating, and making the older stuff dirt cheap allows players who can't afford to spend craploads on singles to have power cards without denting their savings.

Yeah, it sucks for players who run tier 2s or dumb "this is creative" decks, but I'd rather players with a small wallet have the slightest chance of standing up to a tier 1 (wishful thinking) at a locals while stomping out most, if not all the stuff lower on the totem pole.

Disclaimer: I don't play YGO like at all

Alright. So from my vast experience of watching people argue over card games I am here to share words of "wisdom".

The game is filled to the brim with cards that are powerful and easy to summon. Many many decks more or less are a variant of "Get the card you need, summon it at the right moment, win". Just to varying degree.

It's also filled to the brim with cards that counter and stop effects and summoning.

YGO is a vicious circle of trying to balance powerful cards by shoving cards specifically to stop easy usage of the cards.

We all know the true problem with this card, and YGO in general.

Konami tried too hard to pump out more cards and instead of trying to balance everything from the start they slap a "band-aid" in the form of cards specifically to stop the cards they made.

From what I can tell. The way to win often boils down to "I get my boss out first" or "I am lucky enough to have enough cards to stop their boss long enough".

Simple as that.

In the grand scheme of YGO, this card is pretty much fine.

In a general sense of card design, it's not great.

However that's more the fault of the rules and state of the YGO game than the card/deck specifically.

I'm not going to discuss JD anymore because this topic is just a farce and all that's come out of this is that numerous people have made fools of themselves. One thing, though, on a bit of an unrelated topic.

2. Is it? Hmm, I thought it had gone out of favour again. The bloody thing yo-yos so much every day it's either shit or at least decent.

How do you expect to put forward a convincing argument if you don't have basic knowledge of the metagame? Veiler's been good for months now but even irrespective of that it's not difficult to keep up with metagame trends and it adds a lot of weight to your argument and prevents gaffes. There's a YCS or an ARGCS almost every week, it's not too big an ask just to look at the top 16 or whatever decks just to see what basic staples and builds are being played these days.

JD is one of those "Infernity Archfiend" examples.

Card is absolutely broken, but without it, its deck would be 100% useless. Which in turn, also means, "X/Y shouldn't have even existed in the first place".

Love it or hate it, or whatever, your opinions (or even facts) don't mean shit in the face of Konami, because it isn't hitting the banlist anytime soon.
