Mazera DeVille

So the Yata thread got me thinking about hand destruction, and with that I immediately remembered this hilarious gem, and realized it isn't so hard anymore. You got:

  • Unexpected Dai & 3 ROTA for Warrior of Zera
  • Doomdog Othros to search Mazera
  • Terraforming & Archfiend General to search out Pandemonium
  • Too many draw cards

I don't expect this to be Magical Explosion FTK consistent, but I do think it no longer is THAT bad really, and discarding 3 on summon sounds really good. How about we discuss this trolly, I guess boss monster if you want to call it that.

It kinda sucks how they never expanded on Mazera in comparison to Zerato. But, hmm, this guy could see a lot more play. Would be cruel as hell during the first turn. Seems kinda like a sick thing to do.

From experience of piloting it, it certainly is. Now imagine Cyber Dragon Infinity the next turn? Now that's just straight up twisted

I forgot that this card existed. I have it somewhere in my shoebox of old stuff.

[spoiler=Draw 4? More like Discard 3 (Kappa)]AWildMonsterAppears-SECE-EN-ScR-1E.png

Problem is you still need Pandemonium on the Field to get the discard effect. So it really isn't any better than a copy of Warrior of Zera.

I'd love a Synchro retrain of this guy like what Zerato got.

I would agree with this a lot. I would LOVE to see Mazera get the Synchro treatment, hell a Fusion or Xyz retrain would also work. I really love Mazera's concept and is one of my favs, but it is such a hard card to work with. It's nice tho that there is enough stuff to make SOMETHING out of it tho now, and even in the TCG Post-CORE.

It technically is one less card needed tho (One less being Unexpected Dai to fetch Zera), but it being unsearchable really hurts what A Wild Monster would have in this Deck. From testing, you still need to do something once you have pulled off Mazera, myself using the Seraphs for more draw power and the potential to use that to pull off another Mazera. TLDR: Good on paper, bad in practice

All these old school nomi monsters would have been amazing if Konami just had made them completely non-nomi.

That way they wouldn't be dead draws or at least not too situational as cards in general.

Of course the effects would still require their specific Summon conditions, but a 2800 vanilla in case of emergency would have been better than this.

Also, too bad this isn't an Archfiend, because THEN it could be searched. I guess Zerato also can't exactly be searched so they are about even.....

Actually it IS searchable. Doomdog Octhros fetches it out
