GoldenTorizo
Ok, since the March 2015 banlist, Konami has been reprinting cards that were once on the Forbidden list and changing up these cards' effects so that they're less broken than their previous print. I've been doing some thinking and decided to ask you, the member of this forum, this: How would you change the effects of the cards that are still on the banlist to where they are less broken than their previous counterparts? Here's an example: We all know about Victory Dragon and his bogus effect, right? We also know that there are many different cards out there that pretty much have the exact same effect as Victory Dragon, am I right? However, if you look at the bottom left of some of those cards, it has a little message that reads: "This card cannot be used in a deck.", so how about Konami just reprint Victory Dragon with that little message like the other cards that can't be used in decks, so that way it can come off the banlist and stay as a collectable card? ~British Soul~
@TC: If they slapped a "cannot be used in a duel" clause in the bottom left of Victory Dragon, what would be the point of unbanning it?
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Victory Dragon was banned because it had that Match winner effect.Since then, all other Match winners have been World Championship prizes + had the same effect (barring the summon requirements for most part). As iHop and British mentioned, there's no point in unbanning Victory Dragon if you're going to slap that clause on it.You still won't be able to use it anyway. In fact, it'll go from Forbidden to Illegal, which means you can't use it even in Traditional (where it's allowed at 1). If you want it to come off the list, Konami should get rid of its match winner thing and give it an entirely new effect (which won't happen unless they retrain it or something). --------In the case of other cards, there are some on the list that you cannot necessarily change the effects of without screwing up their intended purpose.Although Dark Striker Fighter did get a hard OPT slapped on it, so you cannot continuously Tribute stuff and burn. I suppose in cases like Brionac's, an OPT can be added on. Then again, erratas are meant to clarify how the card works, as Konami changes their way of formatting things; not to nerf the card just so it gets off the list.Heck, Raigeki was banned for the longest time until recently, but they made retrained/nerfed counterparts that do similar things. Slinky
With Victory Dragon, adding that clause to lessen the length of the banlist is perfectly fine. It ultimately does not matter however.
Dramatic Crossroad
How would you change the effects of the cards that are still on the banlist to where they are less broken than their previous counterparts? ...Yes, OK, i get it now.i'm stupid and know nothing of the gameand everyone in this forum hates me. Blake
Since the topic kinda derailed with Victory Dragon (i see your point - match winners are hard to get as they are right not and need reprint for collecters to enjoy their beauty). The Effect of a banished card. Let me see: Harpie's Feather Duster (SPELL) - normal spell Target 1 "Harpie Lady" you control; Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on your opponent's side of the field, but the target control cannot declare an attack during this turn. uh, do you even know what you're doing HFD isn't banned in tne OCG. Additionally, it is now weaker than Heavy Storm. So errataing a lower power card makes zero sense. A card like that would be a callback release, not an errata. Azuh
Cards like Substitoad, Mind Master, Brioniac, Mass Driver just need once per turn erratas. I think Konami just has to go every card on the list and see if some simple changes can reduce the list, not only for nostalgia sake
