Hand Destruction

Being a -1 also sucks.

Well, that's also a thing of this game. Like, in MTG, this kind of effect is amazing for setting up grave plays, a card with this effect is widely played in a bunch of grave-reliant decks.

...though to be frank it can also re-cast itself from grave later so there's that.

Name some decks that would use this for that reason then.

I said it's a thing of YGO that it being a -1 is such a problem. Admittedly, in YGO, we have much more immediate self-mill than in MTG, so we don't have to resort to hand discard for graveyard setup when you can run Reasoning, Charge of the Light Brigade, etc.

Sorry, I misinterpreted your post xD

The hilarious part about the hypothetical argument of "what if it didn't potentially help your opponent" is that the anime used it specifically to screw up an Exodia strategy. Well...because it was "send FOUR".

The problem with the card isn't that it sends vs discards, but that it theoretically helps your opponent and is completely useless unless both players have 2 or more cards in hand. It's a useful card for FTK Decks, and NOT something you'd ever want to topdeck.

That said, it could help out with Decks that want to run through the Deck quickly, or send stuff to the Graveyard fast, like Heraldics (pre-OCG LVAL, because Amphisbaena, No.18, and Heraldry Augmentation makes that a non-issue to laughable degrees), BA, and Dark Worlds would adore it is was discard.

But I suppose it'd be the same thing as Card Destruction. It's not played much (disregarding TCG's ban) because it's a double-edged sword. You could disrupt your opponent, or you could help them immensely. Helping a player replace brick hands is bad. Helping them with Grave setup is bad. Letting them draw cards at a net loss to you is bad.

Even before Faithless Looting, this was not uncommon in legacy.

Anyway, this issue with the card is ultimately that it is a -1 in a game where -1s have to be really really good, and this just isn't up to par. Also, discarding before the draw sucks.

I think discarding is the same as sending, it both does the same thing except the text is changed, I used Montage Dragon and the effect of one of my Dark World monsters worked (also if you haven't noticed, it says "when its discarded to the Graveyard by a CARD EFFECT").

sending is not discarding

discarding is sending

ihave no idea why you were using montage dragon nor can i think of a place where that rekptely worked bar you telling people incorrect info on dn or irl

no sending is not discarding, card like dark worlds require to be discarded, so this wont trigger them, also montage dragon wont trigger them

since they need to be discarded by card effect

about this card, i like to run this in a deck that require both draw power and grave setup (like pure performages), i know its a -1 and can also help opponent, but it can also disrupt them so its an ok card, being chainable is also a good thing, i can just activate this in opponent's Ep to trigger tricklown.....

Sending and discarding are both the same thing, its how you want to see it. sending is giving or throwing, so when you send, your giving it to the graveyard, just like discarding, and when you discard, your also sending to the graveyard.

what the funk its called yugioh rules

we dont just decide what we want lol

i could just say i can normal summon blue eyes without tributes because kaiba did it

but they're getting the discard/send thing mixed up, they both have the same action, same outcome, but different texts.

Not necessarily, seeing as "sending" is not restricted to the hand like discarding, it's a broader term used in the game.

Can you discard a card from the field to the grave? No. Can you send a card from the field to the grave? Yes.

Weird example I know, but you were digging a deeper hole for yourself quite frankly.

How you want to see it and how it actually is are 2 completely different things.

Yes, both actions have the same result of the monster going from th he hand to the graveyard, but that's all. Cards that send do not trigger effects when discarded.

End of story.
