Denko Sekka

But that's not all it would do.  If they have something, great it's an MST that consumes your normal.

But if not, then they are successfully under your lock and can go ahead with your push.  That's how it differs from MST with that effect.  It can bait, but if there is nothing to bait, it locks anything else they might have.

So what are they going to have that can't respond to the summon or activation of Denko? If all they have is Mirror Force then again, MST is the better option. A backrow deck like Tellarknights or Burning Abyss plays literally 3 backrow that can never respond to Denko out of like, 22.

But if it doesn't actually deal with denko, it makes them burn everything like sounding an Airhorn in a cave full of Bats

Yes it's marginally worse, but wasn't that the point of us theoretically altering it's effect to make it activate?

It's still pretty good, just not super safe and unpunishable

I just compared it to a MST that takes up a normal summon and didn't get a convincing counterargument. It's not "pretty good", it makes the thing useless to the point that it needn't even exist.

Does MST hit every single activatable backrow your opponent has? No?

Cuz, like I said, if nothing your opponent has actually deals with Denko then they are either forced to burn everything for no reason on sit on it until denko is dealt with (which is exactly what happens with current denko)

So getting back to what you seemed to ignore, unless you're opponent has an immediate out in that line of backrow, a Denko that activates would either function exactly as is or force your opponent to desperately use everything.

In that school of thought it's not just an MST that eats your normal summon.  Now if your opponent actually has an out, then yes, it is an MST on normal summon.  But not really cuz in a Set 4 pass drop Denko MST would only hits Bottomless and the like 25% of the time, while this denko would guarantee the bait.

So if it is dealt with, it effectively hits their generic answers with 100% accuracy in heavy backrow situations, and if not your opponent either just has to face current denko or activate everything and hope for the best, which is not even close to optimal in a lot of situations.

People making comparisons to Breaker and Lyla need to realise that this doesn't out floodgates which is like, the main reason Lyla is relevant atm, and that we're not in a format where people are playing Sakuretsu Armor and Scapegoat and other stuff that is actually good to blindly snipe.

And notice how it's always casuals who start it.

I think a lot of casuals feel entitled to win because they think they have more fun. I have no evidence to back this up, though.

OT:

I don't like this card. It does so many things that I just don't like cards doing, such as stopping you from playing the game or mounting a proper defense.

At least it affects both players, but it's still basically a Cold Wave on legs. I also like the role it plays if a losing player uses it and can actually mount some form of comeback, but a lot of cards can accomplish that.

2/10 needs list attention unless powercrept asap

^Funny thing is, I actually did do that.

Pros:

It makes R4s easier

It shuts off potentially problematic cards

It can attack

Cons:

It makes the Synchros harder

It burns your Normal Summon

Overall, it's pretty nifty in that setting, but it has to be played strategically (not like that's too unusual though in SHS)
