Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by a card effect, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. During either player's turn, when an opponent's Trap Card is activated while you control no monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand and 1 "PSYFrame Driver" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard, and if you do, negate the activation, and if you do that, destroy it. During the End Phase, banish any monsters Summoned this way.

I'm starting a topic on this card in particular, because so far it's been the one that's contributed the least to the deck. Since most of the traps that people run (Fiendish, Bottomless, etc) are monster dependent, this card loses a lot of value against most decks. In theory it would work against the mirror to stop Overloads from ruining your plays, but other than it mostly exists to give overload more fodder and to make hands in general more dead. I feel like I'm missing something really obvious that keeps Ep in the deck, but it just doesn't have the protective aspect that the others do, since people tend to drop spells regardless of how many monsters are in play.

tl;dr: Traps run are mostly anti-monster, therefore this is dead 80% of the time in most games. Is it worth keeping, or maybe sided?

Feel free to discuss the rest of PSYFrame as well.

I mean, the only actual traps that would probably be effective against Psyframes are either floodgates (Vanity's/Skill Drain/Lose 1 Turn/etc) or Counter Traps (Solemn/etc).

Floodgates would only be poppable when they first come out anyways, but they can easily devastate Psyframes.

Counter Traps are too fast for this.

And if they BTH the Driver/Epsilon/high-ATK Frames, then that'd be an issue, but given they're already on the field, you really can't do much.

So this is mostly just for the Field to give a 1500 ATK buff, or to use as fodder for banishing stuff with Overload.

As an actual Frame, it's sort of useless for anything except the chance they try to flip a floodgate on you.

Which is why I run only 2 of that, as compared to 3 of all the other Psyframe Gears.

I faced a deck that combined PSYFrame with Yosenju. It was a... experience, to say the least. As for Epsilon, well, most traps tend to be reactive towards monsters, so, this card is pretty much a counter to floodgates, pretty much. And bad decks, of course. Not calling that an achievement, mind.

I guess against rogue decks that use proactie traps it can work, or maybe CotH, but otherwise it's more likely a Kalut.

you know you could probably side this against like constellars and that sheet

Or like, Tellar. I mean, they run COTH and Oasis, as well as fiendish chain that would otherwise be a blowout against Cardcar D or Kuribandit.

fiendish doesn't stop either of those

they both tribute themselves as a cost, and fiendish's negation is more akin to Skill Drain than Veiler/BTS.
