Toffee.
Best package for Ultimaya is Spark, Scrap, Hot Red, and Moonlight, I think. I don't see a need for anything more. I might be wrong, but that gives you the Spark Scrap combo as well as Moonlight, who acts as a silver bullet, and Hot Red is just a good card.Could be pro and also play Dark End Dragon, on the off chance something can't die by card effects. SirReal
And Michael. Banishing is much too powerful to disregard.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
You have Michael for stuff that won't die/you REALLY don't want your opponent to recover. Also, I personally think that Stardust is better than Spark in this case. The only thing you have to really fear with Tzolk'in is nukes anyway. Destruction by battle shouldn't be a thing, since you usually run a lot of traps. Prominence is a must in the case you find yourself facing Pendulums. Sure, you could say it's a Side Deck choice, but with the amount of pendulums around you're safer with maining one. Clear Wing can be nice, but it's situational - Xyz decks will screw you over. Same goes for Moonlight Rose. Technically, you could also side Trident. It's a gamble, but hey, if you're facing Infinity decks you could really use something that will get rid of the bastard for good.Michael is a fair point.Spark combos with Scrap for free destruction, though OG has the upside of stopping Wavering, Luster, etc. It is a trade-off, but with Michael for removal instead of scrap dragon, you are definitely right.I forgot Ignister was a thing with this. Freaking insane, good call.Clear Wing stops Castel. This is significant. Really, this is the problem with Ultimaya. It takes a large ED investment to really pull it's own weight. Blake
And we all know that Konami really doesn't want things to actually take investment to play.uh, that is so wrong There's a difference between taking an investment and being way too much dependency. It's a problem with Synchros as a whole, and Ultimaya is no exception. Pendulums actually take investment to play. A drawback of most of them is the lack of space for backrow. Hell, in the OCG, the only rreason they play backrow is to fuel Rafflesia. Xyz are the only mechanic that don't really take investment... yet they do make decks better if you invest in them. Like Nekroz, which is leagues better, or Shaddoll who can use some 4s.

It takes a large ED investment to really pull it's own weight.Which is why the card itself isn't broken/problematic/etc. It's literally just a massively gimmicky monster, and a fun one at that. (GigaDrillBreaker)
I'm afraid the old Tzolk'in is already getting powercreeped. Not like it was really a thing to start with.
vla1ne
pretty sure plants can do it pretty easy too. spore or maybe copy plant can be ran to make level adjustment a nonissue.and synchro plants can/do already run most of the stuff he drops on the field, and run enough spells. so as far as ED dedication goes, they seem to be the best fit for him. (GigaDrillBreaker)
Tzolk'in isn't really something I'd just throw in a deck to be used as an occasional trick. One of the single most important thing you have said in this thread.Just because it can be summoned, doesn't mean it is worth it. I'm still not even sold on Hieratic, but that is an issue it's own.
vla1ne
i see ultimaya as a winmoar card. i don't really see any deck going into him as an optimal move, i see it more as an "i'm winning already, but i want to make a play that hammers the point home, and then nukes that hammer." it's a monster with an effect that is insanely awesome, but highly impractical. the fact that we'll finally be able to get them without too much difficulty just means we now have easy access to one of the most hilarious winmoar cards in the game. also, since i'll finally be able to get one without dropping too much money, i need to see if ultimaya can give lifestream dragon any potential. probably not, but it should at least be more fun to summon this way.
