1 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner monsters
During either player's turn, you can target 1 face-up Spell or Trap card on the field; destroy it, and if you do, banish it, then inflict 500 damage to both players. This effect of "Shrine-burning Hermit, Futo" can only be activated once per turn.

yay floodgate/pendulum hate

It's...a simple card. A really simple card. Really really simple.

Not sure whether it's too strong or not.

But well, maybe the target is limited enough. And an arsonist doesn't have to have too complicated of an effect anyway.

Comments and suggestions would definitely be nice~

As-is, you should be fine though.

Though as you say, this really only works against Pendulums and against Decks that keep Cont. Spell/Traps up (and Fields).

Considering that most Decks are Pendulum-based nowadays (I'm looking at you, P-pals, Qli, Majespecters and whatever else is becoming relevant), I do see this card being used to get rid of stuff quite often, and that should be enough.

While giving it access to face-downs would make it nice for getting rid of backrow or the aforementioned floodgates before they even trigger, turning this into a banishing/burn version of MST is likely not a good idea (even with hard OPT), so I'd probably avoid that.

This is already that for face-ups only, and anti-Pendulum tech should be enough reason to run this, considering that they probably won't be going away for quite a while.

the inclusion of burn to allow this to be stopped by damajuggler is clever as hell.

Considering the fact it repeatedly plusses, this is a very powerful effect, especially considering where its level falls (summon armades against set cards, this against face-up) and spell speed 2 is a further boon. Because of this, i would be more comfortable with it at 100 less atk.

Another interesting use I see in this is the ability for it to banish cards like Shaddoll Fusion, and Nekroz Ritual Spells, preventing them from being accessible in the grave. Not sure if it was intended, but it seems quite relevant.

Card is simple but reaaally effective. So effective that I'm not comfortable with it, actually. I mean, as an OPT quick effect removal with no cost... against pendulums, for each turn this card survives they would be losing up to 2 cards, since they, more often than not, need to place scales to make their plays.

Against other decks, as pointed out above, it can get rid of key cards such as Fusion and Ritual Spells before it is ultimately dealt with.

I support dropping its ATK to 2200, if not less, but an approach I personally would take with this card is to limit the number of times the card can use its first effect to, let's say, twice while it is face-up, and back it up with another effect (protection, disruption, atk boost, etc.).
