Honestly, he's had his moments, but I don't have a lot on him. My only beef is the fact that he tried to take CC mod position recently. The fact that he tried such after not even being notably active in the section in recent times was rather disrespectful imo. I already spit my two cents on that matter already though, so I'll end it by saying as TCG I think you are the most intelligent person there tied with Koko now that iHop is out. He is a major player in this site and I think regardless of your thoughts on him as a whole, I think it's fair to respect him solely based on his overall impact. I know his thoughts on me aren't exactly positive, and he has no reason to feel such at all, but dammit my props are to that brotha.

That wording pisses me off quite a bit, honestly. He didn't try to take it, he threw his hat into the ring because he felt he can make a difference. He gave legitimate reasoning, and was extremely civil about it. There was no "Trying to take" about it.

 

He kept everything private, and didn't try to demean the decision. Activity in the section isn't as important when it comes to moderating the section as people want to make it out to be. If it was, ragnarok would have been a freaking moderator. That's something YCM has always seemed to have issue with. Activity =/= quality. It helps, but it's not key.

He pretty clearly said he didn't even particularity want the job, but would not be opposed to the job if offered. Then you consider he has one of the best theory minds on this site and it's a no brainier why he'd be amazing for that section

Sure, but I'd like to clear up 2 things that were taken way out of context:

 

 

You make it sound like Kook is posting a s*** on in TCG. It's not the quantity, but the quality they produce, in which black is unbeatable.

Ehm...... I literally said the two were tied in being the best of TCG rn. It's very known that I looked a lot to iHop back when he was around, but now he's off on his jive so it comes down to those two now. Simply as that. Idk where the misunderstanding was, but I'm disappointed to think this was even considered

Perhaps I used the wrong wording, but I still feel it wasn't something to go about. While I do agree with your Activity =/= Quality, I consider both things to be a part of the equation. Since Black wishes this to stay as appreciation, I will leave it at that.

Sorry man, didn't mean to pollute your thread. As much as we fight and as much as you might dislike me now days, I've never see you as anything but a friend and never had anything but respect for you.

Yes, I asked for the mod position. No, I did not know Gadjiltron was up for nigh immediate promotion. I backed down, while maintaining my interest, when I was alerted to such.

 

I asked for it to all be resolved privately, because I knew being remotely public would cause drama/disdain. If it went beyond my initial request, obv it should go public, but such was not the case.

 

I calmly and respectfully asked for the position, while presenting plans and ideas I had to improve CC, and fix some flaws, even those I proposed, of the past. I answered the questions I was asked, and I did my best to be professional.

 

For the record, very, very few moderators of CC were elected with activity as a factor. Only Sakura, Gadjiltron, Zextra (iirc), and Striker really were, and there were additional factors to the latter two. Neither Koko nor myself were active when we were first elected, we just knew about design.

 

Rai was offered the position in late 2012, despite low activity, due to his knowledge of design. He turned it down, but it was there. Alfred was merely promoted in hopes of serving as a contrarian to the mod team. Not the opposition he BECAME, but one to be the devil's advocate on issues. Lovely CC was elected for her prescence, as a kinder moderator.

 

Roxas wasn't active in CC when he got the position, iirc, but not 100%. Other CC mods are older, like Josh, who I'm... unsure of the nature of his promotion. It was one of the oldest, soooo. Browarod, too, iirc.

 

I am not publicly discussing anything else on this matter, after this post... But people have seen this, and I am slightly upset with it becoming a thing here, but that's that. I wanted to try and change something for the better, and it's something I know I could do if given the chance.

 

I don't care to moderate TCG, because I can't do anything there. Regardless of activity (neverminding that I drop in when I see a gem), I thought it was somewhere I COULD do something with. I don't care about the station, only the means by which to make a change, which I can't do from this position. I meant no disrespect, and I only offered because Koko was stepping down. There are 2 active CC mods, and a CC mod who should bow out due to inactivity, not poor performance, now, and I offered to be the second active one.

 

S'm not active in CC due to my spark being lost, bar little bursts with ideas, but I do have the knowledge about the section/design and care for the site to put the effort in to improve things. I was annoyed by my desire to improve the site being called "disrespectful". I even acknowledged that Sakura knows the memberbase better, for CC, and that said aspect would help me in trying to improve the section.

 

So I'm not going to apologize for trying to make a difference. For trying to find that win to get me back on my feet.

 

I'd ask the mods to back my stance on this as a public event, but it's up to them. And as I said, I won't speak publicly on this, again... unless the mods do. I was trying to avoid drama and the spotlight, not drag it in here, when what' left of my ego is completely bruised.
