goodfusion Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 Once per turn: You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and 1 Psychic-Type monster you control, except "Psychic Jumper"; switch control of both those targets, and if you do, their battle positions cannot be changed this turn. This card is sooo good. It's always been an excellent card in Psychics, but what about in Kozmo as a potential tech? I guess it would be bad in the mirror match (due to the high level ships being un-targetable and your opponent being able to use your Pilots to summon their own ships), but its an easily searchable (and reusable, if using Power Well) Creature Swap that doubles up as a Tuner. I don't know, maybe the Kozmo mirror match is too common in competitive play for it to be Mained, but it seems like a good alternative (or maybe along side of) Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit as your Psychic-Type Tuner. Being able to swap a spare Soartroopers or Tincan or something for an opponent's powerful monster seems worth it to me. Thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Βyakuya Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 > Swap your Kozmos> Mirror Match> This card targets And there's where I lost you. I mean, there is no doubt why this shouldn't be considered at all in Kozmos. Ghost Ogre is fine cause it has multiple usage as a hand trap and as a useful tuner. Being a Level 3 gets into a lot of things like Clear Wing, Black Rose, and Leviair, whereas Jumper can't do much at all. Honestly I can only see this card as having good use in Gusto or old Banish Psychics, and they are pretty below rogue around this time. The effectiveness of this card can often be situational, and the only best use of this is if you have floating Psychics. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
goodfusion Posted February 14, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 But what about against other decks? You're not going to be facing Kozmo every duel, and like Psychic Jumper, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit is good but it isn't always going to be the most useful card against some decks. Βyakuya Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 But what about against other decks? You're not going to be facing Kozmo every duel, and like Psychic Jumper, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit is good but it isn't always going to be the most useful card against some decks. I edited my post. Again, Ghost Ogre will be more useful as a Tuner than Jumper since being a Level 3 gives access to R3 and Level 7 Synchros, which give Kozmos great boosts unlike Jumper. Jumper would have situational conditions to make it super effective. Maybe in Monarchs, it could swap a Vanity's Fiend or something, or maybe an Erebus/Aither, but Monarchs are generally very dodgy or can just recover from it. Maybe you could snatch an Ignister in Dracopals? Overall, its effectiveness is variable depending on your gamestate, but in a current meta use it's very bad. I would not give up a spare Soartrooper or Strawman or Tincan, because its better to leave him out to leave the notion you might have a ship in hand. Giving them away will not reward you anything because odds are, they will know you have no ships in hand or no other outs, and that if the monster they give you is vulnerable and not used to the greatest extent, they will slam you. Well, this is just my kind of prediction and I can't properly gauge how it would work, but even as a for-fun tech, I can't see a lot of other things it can warrant. IQuitDolphin Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 Use it to take an Ignister, pop scales. Profit? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
goodfusion Posted February 14, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 I understand your points Komaeda, thanks for explaining. Fair enough point that you could just keep your Psychic-Type Kozmo out and use it to summon a ship. I wouldn't really call its effect bad at the moment, but then again I don't play meta so what do I know. Use it to take an Ignister, pop scales. Profit? I almost got the chance to do this the other week at my locals, if I had saved it in my hand rather than using it the previous turn as a Synchro Material.... Anyway, I still think it is a good tech for someone wanting to build a 'budget' Kozmo deck who can't afford to spend £40 on Ghost Ogre, and/or who is in a more casual environment (this is basically me at the moment, so yeah) where there are more decks used that it is effective against. Toffee. Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 Kinda' wish this could swap itself.But then we have Konami being paranoid over Creature Swap being searchable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kaiji Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 Rofltech in Quantum and you simply run 1 of it Issue I see is that you will already consuming your normal for Blue Layer/Alphan in nearly every situation but at least it's a tuner at worst (which I haven't given much thought about which synchros worth using since Ghost ogre grants access to Scarlight/Stardust already 5/7/6 is a pretty shallow pool) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted February 14, 2016 Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 Kinda' wish this could swap itself.But then we have Konami being paranoid over Creature Swap being searchable.That would be awesome but kinda overpowered. Being able to steal any targetable monster of your choice and opening your opponent up for basically a direct attack - on an e-tele and power well target... :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
goodfusion Posted February 20, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 20, 2016 So, with Metalphosis coming along, I think this may have found more of a home. Seeing as they can Pendulum Summon monsters from Levels 2-7, they'll probably get monsters of all those levels, so it being Level 2 rather than any other Level doesn't matter so much. If you draw it, you can just Pendulum Summon it, so it isn't likely to be a dead draw. Being able to give them a Defence Position Goldriver or an Attack Position Steelren for an opponent's powerful monster could really assist in OTKs, and of course it is a Tuner.
