From a scale of 1 to Tottenham, how unlucky are you?  :Kappa:

Guess we were "spursy" after all :(. Hey, I enjoyed the ride.

Phil, why don't you post more?

You honestly come off as being far more popular then you realize.

Now that I don't play Yugioh there really aren't that many things on YCM that I'm into anymore. I post in the Hearthstone thread now and again but there's nothing else I can really get into and I can only rarely be bothered to get into all the discussions/arguments in General. Maybe I'll find some other interest or one of my interests gets big on YCM but right now my opportunities to post on here are pretty limited.

Ever tried custom cards? You'd be retty good at it.

I used to make a ton of cards back in the day, I suppose I could get back into it. I always struggle to find the inspiration though, back when I used to make cards I'd always just add pointless clauses to add word length rather than genuinely interesting stuff, if I have a brainwave I'll definitely try and make a card out of it.

Part of why I proposed this idea is partially because older members have more solid ideas, and I'm always interested in what they might come up with.

....

What if you remade/supported the 'Dizzy' Archetype?

Not because of your Member Title or anything like that. Nope. Not at all =D

hmm, I suppose I could. The archetype sucks though, I'd have to basically create the entire archetype. Which I'm not averse to doing.

What's a Showdown moderator doing on a Yu-Gi-Oh! Forum?

Sometimes we need a break from lenny faces and morons pming us "y was i locked". Truth be told I barely go on PS anymore and almost never do any moderating, the only reason I haven't quit is that I get access to the staff forums and I'm nosy.

You could, like, make them do something with position changing, in addition to having some immunity/etc to Flipping the Table. I mean, they were implied to be drunk, so them stumbling about on the field(via changing modes) could simulate that. Or something. I don't know.

How do you think I've done as a tournament host for showdown stuff?
And as a player?

And so it's not all Showdown.

What is your general thought process for card games/other competitive things? Like do you automatically learn the meta, or do you goof around for a while then decide to try to be competitive? And is there a process you have to "git gud" at something?

Seems like you've done a good job. You've actually seen to it that tournaments happen and get finished which deserves serious credit on YCM, and it looks like the SSS is thriving. You seem a competent enough player, too, I know you beat me once when I could actually claim to be semi-good at mons so that's worth something.

To be honest I'm so naturally competitive that I generally seek to learn the meta almost immediately, and just straight-up avoid things that I know I wouldn't be able to compete in at some level. As for "gitting gud", the absolute number 1 thing I would advise is to learn as soon as you can exactly what your opponent can throw at you. For example, when I was first getting into Hearthstone I spent a few hours reading up and revising every board clear in the game so that I knew when I could overextend or not. You could be the best player in the game, but if you have no idea of what's coming next you're as clueless as everyone else. Another thing is to be able to critically evaluate stuff and lose sentiment. I often see people saying "I did this or played this because why not" which is just terrible logic if you seriously want to optimise your plays, so the ability to tune yourself to do absolutely the most logical thing every time in deckbuilding and technical play is very important. Once you have those things, it's just a matter of practice, practice, practice.

How have you been?

Any reason for quitting YGO? You seemed to really enjoy it.

I've been well, thanks.

I quit Yugioh for a number of reasons - for a start, I found the meta after that banlist that killed everything really dull, especially compared to the meta before which was amazing. Second, I started playing Hearthstone which I just enjoy a lot more and I'm really bad at juggling interests - if I play something I normally don't play anything else. Third, I can't quite forgive Konami for the way they handled YCS Lille. After the Paris attacks they literally came out and said they were not going to cancel the event, only for them to cancel it the week after without any regard for people who had made arrangements to go. I only sunk about £100 into travel and luckily we could cancel our hotel, but others, particularly ones who had to fly, lost hundreds. I'm not impressed that they were prepared to just let the players lose out just so they could cover their asses in the case of an incredibly unlikely event. Finally, I just didn't really have the time. Yugioh, unlike Hearthstone, is pretty inflexible in terms of when you can play, and I just couldn't justify giving up almost all my Saturdays just to go to locals.

Any opinions on me?

Also would vodka lemonade be any good?

You say a lot of stuff for the sake of saying it.

Vodka Lemonade's excellent, I drink it a... rather worrying amount.

Grilled or fried?

Fried, without a doubt.

Hmm, what would it take for you to get back into YGO? Also thoughts on me?

A lot. Maybe if the local community got better and a bunch of people got back into it.

I disagree with you on almost everything but you're a decent person really.
