"D-don't flatter me Charyb!  You're just as good!"  The organic known as He'phes turned to Zane and Chimera.  "We've been expecting you!  Our princess told us how a Eggman vessel was sunk by the one and only Charyb.  We were given new orders to repair it instead of scrapping it!" Chimera clenched his fist at the sound of that. If they had scrapped it, he would have to kill everything here."But this thing is seriously old...I've heard tales of the Eggman being a genius, but this tech is way outdated. Any idea of how you want this thing to possibly be upgraded?"

Upgraded... Hmm... Yes... Even Eggman knew nothing was perfect and could be enhanced. Even organic life. "You have to remember that any technological advancements the Doctor made was over 200 years ago... What may seem outdated to you now was the cutting edge of technology back then. he scoffed a bit when he thought. "I suppose even I would be considered outdated in today's day and age...," he shook his head.

"Anyways, as you probably can tell, the Egg Carrier was not made to be flown by one person. It requires several crews to maintain. Perhaps a helper AI at the controls will make things easier, especially if I am not there to pilot," he scratched his chin. "Hmm... And it's not so much an upgrade, but the flight capabilities of the Egg Carrier seemed to be taken offline during my two hundred years of sleep. If you could repair that, I'd be most grateful. It'll be better to run than to fight a losing battle," which is what he would have done instead of fighting Charyb if he had the option back then.

Zane felt like he was given the cold shoulder by Chimera when Charyb walked up and pretty much became their escort...either that or tour guide. To Zane, either sounded pretty good for him. However, he knew he'd be able to talk to Chimera a bit more later.

"Our Civilization prides itself off of it's manufacturing capabilities. These volcanic shoots are very helpful when it comes to obtaining precious metals. This is where I was born."

"Huh, so born via volcanic shoots? Pretty interesting actually." the arctic wolf said, shrugging slightly. "Oh, by the way, sorry for almost...permanently disconnecting you." Zane chuckled some, knowing that Charyb knew what he was talking about.

As the elevator hit its mark, the group saw the Egg Carrier and it being worked on my many different engineering crews. Zane noticed Chimera seeming...happy, he guessed? Reading emotions on a robot was something that Zane didn't know if he could do...or at all for that matter.

"But this thing is seriously old...I've heard tales of the Eggman being a genius, but this tech is way outdated. Any idea of how you want this thing to possibly be upgraded?"

Updates? Hmmm.... Zane thought, rubbing his chin, trying to think of some new ideas.

Of course, Chimera was already running ideas through his circuits. This WAS after all from his legacy... Zane nodded before holding up a hand. "I got a few ideas too. Hear me out on this, C." he said, pointing at the Egg Carrier. "If I'm correct...and at least remember the old history books and whatnot about the whole Eggman deal, these usually came complete with a barrier or a shield, correct? If that's the case, we may need to upgrade that or maybe even fix it. After all, I don't think we want another round of the carrier taking on projectiles from psychos..." Zane paused and sheepishly smiled and waved his hand a bit towards Charyb. "N-No offense..."

Looking back at the Egg Carrier, Zane rubbed his chin slowly. "Maybe also a new paint job? I mean, it's colored as if it's heralding the second coming of the Eggman and his fleet. Giving it paint job might prove useful...that way we aren't striking fear into the hearts of survivors." The arctic wolf finally turned around towards Chimera and crossed his arms. "Also...in the event we DO fight...maybe find a way to have the carrier use weapons based on our abilities? I mean, take Axel for example. Enough of his Chaos whatever it is...concentrate enough of it into a cannon...would make for a pretty big boom!"

Chimera looked over to Zane as he suggested upgrades. A barrier would be good. However, he suggested something that he shouldn't have. He had a mind to shoot Zane right there and then, but he didn't know what he was doing. Why should he cover his proud heritage? Why should he have to hide, like some sort of minority?

Chimera turned his head slowly, looking at Zane with his dead, robotic eyes. "What are you talking about...? This is the second coming of Eggman and his fleets," he shook his head as he folded his arms. "However... The time for war is over. You organics always win due to your sheer numbers and... Sheer cruelty," he remained quiet after saying that. Perhaps he went too far...

"What are you talking about...? This is the second coming of Eggman and his fleets"

Zane stopped dead in his tracks, seeing Chimera's dead robotic eyes, almost seeming like they were glaring and possibly throwing daggers in the wolf's direction. "W-Whoa...whoa, C. It was only a suggestion...I-I didn't mean anything offensive by it..." he quickly said, backing up some, chuckling nervously. But that wasn't the only thing that this Egg-Bot said that caught Zane off guard.

"However... The time for war is over. You organics always win due to your sheer numbers and... Sheer cruelty."

Sheer numbers? Sheer cruelty? What was that about? Zane felt truly confused when Chimera said this. Where did that even come from? he thought, remaining silent before looking over at Chimera again and then Charyb and He'phes. "I-I'm sorry to ask this...but could you guys give us a few moments? And...well, don't do anything concrete yet on the carrier except for the upgrades to the shields, flight unit, and that A.I. thing..." he turned back to Chimera and motioned with his hand. "C...c'mon, I think it's time we just sat down and talked..."

Mobian Sea: Cha'Aqua

"I guess great minds think alike huh? By the way, before there are anymore interruptions, the name's Cynthia and I'm an expert Extreme Gear rider, well that is before that storm made me lose my gear."

"Cynthia huh?" Ken pondered, "That's a fine name."  Ken took a hulking bite out of the crab meat at the end of the cooked crustaceans arm.  As he strolled down the street, he could see more tents and stands amassing together.  Aquatic Mobians were all gathered around, and switching from stand to stand.  Games and devices that whirled children around were also mixed in with all the commotion.  It must've been a fair of some sort.  Ken turned to Cynthia.  "Let's head on in!  We might as well have fun since we're stuck here!"  After that, Ken dashed off into the crowd.  As he passed by the residents of the fair, he was met with some odd looks.

"Nothing to see here folks, just a hedgehog who wants to have some fun!"  The mobians that were staring at him were now smiling.

"Oh wow!"

"A surface dweller, we don't get many of those here!"

"Must've heard about our famous underwater parties!"

Ken scratched the back of his head and smiled.  Before long, he would be swarmed with aquatic mobians.  Questions and bulging eyes were surrounding him.

"What's it like up there?!"

"I wanna be part of their world!"

Ken tried to answer most of the questions one at a time, but motioned for Cynthia to get closer.

"I'd love to answer all of your questions...really I would...but I have to take this lovely lady around the fair!"  The crowd sighed.  Some dolphin mobians rushed Ken.  He noticed that most of them were...how should he put it...well endowed?

"Oh come on cutey...We can show you an even better time...Never tasted surface dweller before."  Their eyes were filled with a look Ken wasn't familiar with.  In his mind, he actually thought that they might actually eat him.  He turned to Cynthia and mouthed, 'help me'.

He'phes made sure to write all of the suggested upgrades down.  They were fairly simple upgrades, and the team would be sure to work on them post haste.  He even started making a design that would better fit the flying fortress besides the glaringly obvious Eggman propaganda plastered all over it.  Maybe some blue would work better?

As the atmosphere got a little more intense between the wolf and robot, He'phes and Charyb backed up slightly to give them space.

"Take all the time you need...after all, you have plenty of it.  You may return to the castle if you so desire.  Just go back the way we came."  He'phes waved to them.

"We'll be done in a jiffy, don't worry."  With that, the blue flashing and sparks that had flown greatly intensified.

Cynthia was happily chowing down on the large crab arm when something had caught Ken's attention, a big area filled with tents and stands with people going from one to the other. It seemed like a nice, big fair was going on, everyone looked like they were having a blast. "Let's head on in!  We might as well have fun since we're stuck here!" Ken said as he rushed into the crowed fair grounds, Cynthia let out a sigh. "This guys giving me a run for my money, I gotta keep up with him. Heh, at least he seems a lot more fun than those others back at the temple." Cynthia took another big bite out of the crab arm before rushing on to catch up with Ken.

When Cynthia found Ken he was in a big crowd of people, he didn't seem like he was in trouble, in fact the large crowd was asking him a myriad of questions about the surface, he motioned for Cynthia to get a little closer. "I'd love to answer all of your questions...really I would...but I have to take this lovely lady around the fair!" Lovely? Well that's something Cynthia has never been called before, she kinda liked it. Ken's statement deterred most of the people, but a couple of female mobians seemed to have taken a liking to him.

"Oh come on cutey...We can show you an even better time...Never tasted surface dweller before." Cynthia didn't know what to think of these ladies, but she did find it rather annoying that they were pushing her away. Ken looked like he was in need of some help with these girls. "Alright ladies break it up, break it up," Cynthia walked over to Ken's side and wrapped her arm around his. "Might want to look elsewhere because this guy is with me." With that taken care of, Cynthia turned to Ken. "Just to let you know, they didn't actually mean they were going to eat you, I think they meant something... different."

"I hope you had a plan after pushing me off! Cats may be known to land on their feet during a fall, but I don't think landing on my feet after falling off a cliff is going to help!"

Axel smirked in response, ripping both hands from his pockets and spreading his arms wide against the wind. "Didn't manage to steal yourself another nine lives?" He joked as he observed the rapidly approaching ground. They had roughly five seconds before they would impact against the stone streets of the market... more than enough time.

"Chaos Control," Axel's whisper was just barely audible above the rushing winds, as his eyes once again began to glow a telling blue. In an instant, time slowed to a sudden halt all around him, leaving the white hedgehog staring down at a suspended Alex, who's panicked expressing was now frozen in place. "It's getting easier..." Axel mumbled to himself as he hastily guided his body down to the ground bellow whilst dragging Alex alongside himself to slow her momentum.  "Even more reason to continue gathering the emeralds."

Placing both feet firmly on the ground, he released the still falling Alex a few feet above himself, before opening his arms and allowing his grip on time to fade. No longer suspended, Alex promptly dropped directly into Axel's grasp as if she had originally only fallen from that hight, causing him to grunt slightly, undoubtedly drained from his brief but unaided use of chaos control. Now holding the thief as if he had rescued a princess, the young prodigy swiftly placed Alex back on her feet before slowly walking towards the market grounds.

"It would appear that they're having a festival of some kind." He called over his shoulder as he waiting for the feline to follow him into the main area. "Do what you want," With the glimmer of adventure now absent from his eyes, Axel returned to his usual self, with the slight lightness in his voice as the only indicator that Alex's words had changed something. "Just be discreet about it. Material possessions mean nothing to me... but I'm sure the others wouldn't be pleased if you were to be caught."

"C...c'mon, I think it's time we just sat down and talked..." Chimera nodded slowly.

"I suppose I owe you that much of an explanation... One at a time," Chimera folded his arms. "When I spoke of organic numbers, it is... Well, true. How many robots are around. Very optimistically, about one hundred. That's a very high estimate. While the organics numbers in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions," he shook a little as he spoke. "By sheer numbers alone, if the organics wanted us gone, that would be that. We couldn't truly fight back, not with the advancements in technology they have made. And if we were to make a robot powerful enough to counter the numbers... It would be as much of a danger to us as it would be to the organics. We lose either way,"

He paused for a moment to let the information sink in. He wasn't sure what the reaction is, or if Zane would care. Machines never spoke of these problems. They weren't suppose to have problems... They weren't supposed to have emotions...

"As for my claims of organic cruelty... Well...," he began to tap his foot. It still sickened him to this day, but he had to let him out. "When most people think of a robot, they see nothing but a machine. Something to command over, something like a computer... Something they can reprogram. In some cases, it is true. But most robots... They have sentience. They are no different from you, or from any of the others. But they are bound, unable to have free will... They are slaves... Even worse than that, they are something on the level of a toaster. Ones that organics can change on a whim. They can erase our memories, change our personalities, change everything that makes us who we are, and we can not do a thing to stop it,"

He paused again before continuing. "Most robots back in the day, and what more than likely were modified and improved on to this day, were based off Dr. Robotnik's designs... What most people didn't realize was his programming granted a machine self awareness... Even the Doctor himself didn't realize this until after he made Metal Sonic. It was... A surprise to him. We weren't built to have human-level sentience. We weren't supposed to be as…advanced as we were.

"Of course, your 'Freedom Fighters' of the past knew this. They had the AI Nicole as an example of this. And yet, they reprogrammed many of the Doctor's robots, robbing them of what made them them, to make them... Experiments, or 'protectors'... The worst part is, they told no one. And why would they? Who would want an infant race suddenly placed on their laps? No, toasters are much easier...,"

He stopped. Was there a pout to tell him. Should he have? So many questions buzzed through his processors. He only hoped he made sense.

[spoiler=OOC]Now, before anyone says anything, this is based off the comic continuity. As such, I can point to the reprogramming of a Metal Sonic, which was destroyed by Shadow in the SA2 arc. As for basing robots off of Eggman's designs, the Neo Metal Sonics Uncle Chuck created say hello

It looked like she was about to hit the ground, in a second she was going to be a cat pancake. But then, well, something was off, like for a split second Alex could feel some kind of... shift. The second she would've hit the ground, Alex instead found herself in Axel's arms as he got her back on her feet. She turned to hide her slightly blushing before looking to see that Axel was walking off towards some type of fair. "Do what you want, Just be discreet about it. Material possessions mean nothing to me... but I'm sure the others wouldn't be pleased if you were to be caught."

Alex didn't know what to think of Axel at this point. At first he seemed like the big authority figure, but now he's just... letting Alex do her thing. She gave it a second to sink in before turning towards the markets. "Heh, don't worry about me, they won't notice me stealing at all." Alex then rushed towards the marketplace with her thieving spirit renewed, but the thought of Axel being a bit less edgy still stuck in the back of her mind.

Zane and Chimera moved away from open and sat nearby a few empty cargo boxes. However, the arctic wolf truly wasn't prepared to dive into the psyche of the Egg Bot...

-BGM-

"When I spoke of organic numbers, it is... Well, true. How many robots are around. Very optimistically, about one hundred. That's a very high estimate. While the organics numbers in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. By sheer numbers alone, if the organics wanted us gone, that would be that. We couldn't truly fight back, not with the advancements in technology they have made. And if we were to make a robot powerful enough to counter the numbers... It would be as much of a danger to us as it would be to the organics. We lose either way."

Is this...is this what he's been carrying around all this time? Zane thought, falling silent as he listened to Chimera explain this. As he finally mustered the words to say something, the robot continued.

"As for my claims of organic cruelty... Well...When most people think of a robot, they see nothing but a machine. They can erase our memories, change our personalities, change everything that makes us who we are, and we can not do a thing to stop it"

The arctic wolf continued to be attentive to Chimera, hearing him make mention about Eggman not realizing about the programming granting self-awareness...to even talking about the original Freedom Fighters. His heart sank at just hearing about what Chimera was feeling...or was saying he felt. This just explained more about the robot so much more.

It was a good few moments after Chimera finished that Zane sighed heavily to speak.

"I will agree on a few things." Zane huffed. "To society, they only see robots as nothing but a machine. And yes, before any of this...I was guilty of that. But, that pretty much changed when Silver threw me in with you all." he sighed, finally looking up at Chimera. "You and definitely your crazy brother, Mecha were on another level than I had ever seen...and you Chimera...you definitely had something that was your own...something unique. Honestly I dunno what that something is...but you got it."

Zane rubbed the back of his head, shaking it some. "I guess...what I'm trying to say is don't think that your a slave and bound to something Chimera. Things...things have changed since the days when Eggman was in charge. Not a whole lot, but they have." he said, looking over at Charyb working. "Take Charyb for example. You'd think he's bound to the this place...but from what I can see...its sorta the opposite. He's not bound here...he chooses to remain here. To help his people with anything they need and to protecting them in their times of weakness...and believe me, there are times when us Mobians are weak."

A great sigh escaped the arctic wolf's lips, as he shook his head once more. "I can't comprehend exactly what you've been through, C, and I can tell ya...I don't have the answers. I really wish I did...but I don't...and it really urks me not see a friend hurting like this and not having the answers..."

Mobian Sea: Cha'Aqua

The sudden grasp around Ken's arm was startling to say the least.  He thought the dolphin girls were getting a little too friendly, but it turned out to be Cynthia.

"Might want to look elsewhere because this guy is with me."

Ken smiled.  He rubbed his back bristles and shrugged.

"Guess I'm off the market.  Maybe next time I'm in town ladies."  With that, Ken walked off with Cynthia in his arm.  As soon as they were out of earshot, he flashed her a thumbs up and laughed.  "Good one Cyn!  You really fooled them!  I was afraid I was going to have to get a little rough."  The lights in the street were fading...it had become nightfall before he even knew it.  The abyss outside of the dome had turned from a bright blue hue to a dark black void.  It was almost entrancing looking out into the beyond.  He reached a hand out towards the abyss.  "We're gonna save it...all of it..."  He clutched his fist tight.

Mobian Sea: Cha'aqua Temple

The next day...

The night before, everyone had gathered back at the palace, and each slept in there own room.  It was kind of hard for Ken to get any rest, seeing as how Axel was not by his side that night...he wondered if his brother felt the same way.  After some tossing and turning, Ken managed to fall asleep.  When the morning light permeated the top of the ocean, the abyss faded and the water became clear once more.  The freedom fighters found themselves needed back in the Princess' chamber.  As they filed in, Pearl sat atop her coral throne.  Beside her were Gu'ill, Charyb, and He'phes.  He'phes was the first to step forward.

"Your ship has been upgraded to the max!  The ships exterior has been patched up, and new metals were placed to help for more armor capabilities.  We have also painted the vessel a dark blue and outlined with white!  This way, no one will notice the obvious eggman color scheme!"  He looked towards Chimera and Zane and smiled.  "Also, all the upgrades you suggested have been implemented into the ship.  The A.I. is a bit new...and it was extremely hard to develop.  It has the personality of a Cha'Aquan citizen.  Make sure to take it easy on it for a few weeks.  We named it, Reeference....or Reef for short."  He'phes stepped back, and Gu'ill stepped forward with a large sack.  After grumbling a bit, he cleared his throat.

"As for all of your confiscated equipment...take it back.  We trust you with the protection of Mobius, so you might as well take the stuff you need."  Gu'ill threw each item to it's respective owner.  Zane's collapsed snowboard and Cynthia's extreme gear were returned quickly.  "As for the other items....well I'll let Pearl take care of that...also," Gu'ill reached into his pocket and pulled out a shark tooth on a necklace.  He threw it towards Ken who caught it.  "Take it...as a souvenir."  Gu'ill grinned, and a tooth could be seen missing from his smile.  "Don't worry, it'll grow back soon enough.  Legend has it that whale shark teeth make the strong, stronger...although I know you're probably already as tough as they come."  Gu'ill stepped back.  Next was Charyb, who quickly approached Chimera.

"Brother in circuitry..." too everyone's surprise, Charyb disconnected one of his arms from it's socket.  He presented the limb to Chimera.  "Intergrate this piece of me into your technology...surely you can do that much.  With this piece of me, you'll be able to use high pressure water as ammunition...if you happen to run out of those barbaric bullets."  Charyb seemed to smile, with no mouth it was made clear he was happy with the decision.  "Like Gu'ill, I'll be able to get this back easily.  I'm sure He'phes will create a new arm in no time.  This is all I could think of to help you in your endeavors.  It'll feel like I'm helping this place beyond it's walls."  Charyb returned to his position.  Pearl was last, and stood up from her throne holding three small sacs with her.

"Brave warriors, we have given you these gifts in hopes that they will aid you in your upcoming struggl-AH!"  Pearl tripped, but was caught single handed by Charyb.  "Thank you guardian Charyb...As I was saying, as with the other gifts, please take these with you as well."  Pearl unraveled one of the sacs to reveal Alex's ancient armband.  "This ancient relic holds many secrets...secrets also shared with Cha'Aqua.  Through my divine practice as the Cha'Aqua Oracle, I have imbued this band with new power.  Now, you may be able to turn invisible as long as you desire...A handy skill for once such as yourself."  Pearl diligently placed the band in Alex's hand.  She smiled as she closed her fingers over it.  Next was Axel, and Pearl approached him carefully.  She unwrapped one sac to reveal a small vial of fluid.  "This is Cha'Aqua spirit water....use this in case anyone on your team may be seriously injured.  It will heal the most dire injury...but only once."  The vial came with a string, so it too was hung around Axel's neck.  The last item in a bag was the grey Chaos Emerald.  "You'll definitely be needing this on your journe-" Pearl's sentence was cut off as soon as her hand holding the emerald came in contact with Axel's.  Instead of tripping...instead her eyes became pure white, and her mouth hung open.

"Your majesty!"  Gu'ill, He'phes, and Charyb shouted in unison.  Then Pearl spoke in a booming voice.

"Once again the sun will rise, and it's wake the paths of both light and darkness shall intertwine just as they did in the very beginning. The wheel of fate shall turn again. though the two paths shall be walked by those who were never meant to be…

Seven beacons of hope shall be ripped from the maw of the past. Only to bleed forth the sins of he who resolves to carry their weight on his own.

True terror will arise from the dark, where it hungers for the light, and those heroes who have walked the road of light and darkness, shall try in vain to reach out for the future.  They will perish. The cycle will be broken, and all paths shall meet in twilight."

As soon as she finished, her eyes returned to their normal state, and Pearl gripped her head.

"Oh my...that was a doozy of a dizzy spell..."  She knew she just had spoken prophecy..but it must've flown over the other's heads.  She returned to her throne, almost as if nothing had happened before.  She bowed, and then sat down.  "We people of Cha'Aqua humbly thank you, and wish you good luck upon your travels.  May the Chaos be with you."  All three royal attendees also bowed.

Mobian Sea: Cha'Aqua Hangar

He'phes broke off and showed them to the hangar, where the newly made Egg Carrier was held.  The platform it sat on raised slowly, to the level where they all had been standing. He'phes laughed.

"It's gonna need a name you know.  You can't call this the Egg Carrier forever!"

Ken nodded.

"How about....Light Piercer?  I think it has a certain charm to it!"  Ken looked to the others for any other suggestions.  If there were none, this vessel would now be dubbed the Light Piercer.  Ken looked to Cynthia and presented the giant ship to her.  "Welcome home Cynthia!"  Ken hopped onto the carrier and pointed upwards.  "Now let's get the hell out there and fight on!"  As they all boarded, the platform started to rise higher and higher.  The rocks above the hangar started tearing apart as a large door opened for it to ascend to the surface.

"Launching sequence in 3....2....1.....blast off."  A voice rang throughout the ship.

Thrusters were put to max power, and the Light Piercer bolted straight to the surface.  However, it didn't stop there, and made it's way high into the sky.  The feeling that they weren't on the sea anymore, but instead the air, made Ken's stomach a bit uneasy.  As he looked out the windows and to the open sky, he couldn't help but take a deep breath.

"Well...back on course it is!  Let's tear this Mephiles a new one!"

End of Chapter 2

[spoiler=OOC]

Well our day trip in Cha'Aqua is over!  we were sent off with some fancy new stuff though!  You can post your reaction to the whole situation, or make some filler posts until my next GM post!  Thanks for sticking with me so far you guys!  Hollow and I have big plans for this!"

"Not one of my greatest hauls, but it'll do..." Alex yawned as she sifted through the assortment of jewelry and shells she had gotten her hands on last night. "These shells are beautiful, but I doubt they'll fetch a price on the surface..." Alex sorted the shells from the actual jewelry, but one shell had caught her eye, it was pretty pink seashell that seemed to have a brilliant blue gem imbedded in it. "Hmmm... might just save this one." She put the shell into her pocket and put the rest of her spoils into a small bag. "Right then... time to meet up with the others." Alex slung the bag over her shoulder and headed out her room.

Alex met up with everyone else back in the throne room, Pearl was accompanied by Gu'ill, Charyb, and another mobian Alex wasn't familiar with. The new mobian explained that the Carrier had been repaired and even upgraded with newer tech, including its own AI, Reef. "As for all of your confiscated equipment...take it back.  We trust you with the protection of Mobius, so you might as well take the stuff you need." Alex couldn't help but smile from the fact she was getting her ring back, no one steals from a thief. Gu'ill gave back Zane's snowboard and even gave the new girl, Cynthia's, Extreme Gear back. "As for the other items....well I'll let Pearl take care of that..." Gu'ill stepped back after tossing Ken a souvenir and Charyb stepped forward to Chimera. Alex was surprised to see that Charyb gave Chimera his arm as a gift, more tech for him to upgrade with most likely.

Then Pearl stepped forward and proceeded to give back Alex and Axel's items, and more. "This ancient relic holds many secrets...secrets also shared with Cha'Aqua.  Through my divine practice as the Cha'Aqua Oracle, I have imbued this band with new power.  Now, you may be able to turn invisible as long as you desire...A handy skill for once such as yourself." Alex was glad to have her ring back, but the addition of an invisibility bracelet just made her day, a thief who could turn invisible could steal to their hearts content, though in the back of her mind Alex was slightly annoyed, a ring is tricky enough to put on with one hand, a bracelet just makes it even worse. Axel received a vial of spirit water, which sounded like a miracle cure or something and he even got his emerald back though something happened to Pearl when she gave it back.

Whatever Pearl said, it sounded like some kind of prophecy, Alex wasn't much the superstitious type, but she couldn't help shiver from the sound of it. "We people of Cha'Aqua humbly thank you, and wish you good luck upon your travels.  May the Chaos be with you." She and her attendants bowed to the group, this whole hero thing could have its perks.

The group later arrived at the hangar to see the newly upgraded egg carrier. "It's gonna need a name you know.  You can't call this the Egg Carrier forever!" The aquatic mobian said presenting the Carrier to the group. "How about....Light Piercer?  I think it has a certain charm to it!" Ken was the first to suggest a name, it did have a nice ring to it but Alex just shrugged. "I'm not one for naming things... whatever you name it I'll stick with," It was about time everyone got back on the road, or in this case the waves. As they walked up the ramp into the newly named Light Piercer, Alex just remembered the shell in her pocket. "Hey Axel," Alex got the hedgehog's attention before tossing the shell to him. "Consider it a gift from last night, you have no idea what it was worth..." Alex said before yawning, she needed some sleep.

[spoiler=OOC]A gift from the thief to the chaos wielding hedgehog, a nice little shell with a gem in it, enjoy.

The next day, Cynthia woke up full of energy. "Ahhh... That fair was certainly something else, Ken really is the ladies man, he needed help just to get away from those girls at the fair." Cynthia chuckled to herself as she headed out her room. Everyone was in the throne room waiting to be sent off by Pearl and her attendants. "As for all of your confiscated equipment...take it back.  We trust you with the protection of Mobius, so you might as well take the stuff you need." The aquatic mobian handed back a snowboard to Zane, and much to Cynthia's surprise she was given Hurricane! "My Extreme Gear! But how? I thought it was... Oh my god, thank you so much! Its like it never went through a large storm." As Cynthia was checking her newly repaired Extreme Gear, Chimera received an arm from Charyb, Alex got a ring and a bracelet, and Axel got a vial of special water and a gem, which must've been one of those chaos emeralds Axel was talking about.

"Once again the sun will rise, and it's wake the paths of both light and darkness shall intertwine just as they did in the very beginning. The wheel of fate shall turn again. though the two paths shall be walked by those who were never meant to be…

Cynthia simply gave a confused yet concerned look as Pearl gave some kind of prophecy to everyone, what it meant was unknown to her, but it sounded important. "We people of Cha'Aqua humbly thank you, and wish you good luck upon your travels.  May the Chaos be with you." She didn't seem to concerned about it, but Cynthia just shrugged it off, if it wasn't concerning for the princess of a kingdom, it shouldn't be that bad. As the group were lead off to the hangar, Cynthia stared in amazement at the large metal carrier. "Welcome home Cynthia!" So this was the Egg Carrier, well Light Piercer, that everyone arrived here on. "Seems roomy enough... Well then, I guess its time we headed back to the surface."

Episode 3: Ashes

"This is Cha'Aqua spirit water....use this in case anyone on your team may be seriously injured.  It will heal the most dire injury...but only once." Axel nodded in understanding before allowing the princess to place the vile around his neck. Despite having turned into his quarters earlier than the others, the white hedgehog was still very visually tired. This was the first night he had ever spent without his brother, and though it pained him to admit it... he had trouble sleeping without the musclebound idiot by his side.

Despite his fatigue, Axel's eyes gleamed hungrily towards the other bag in Pearl's hand. He could sense the chaos emerald's presence the moment he stepped into the room, and now was only moments from being reunited with Silver's gift. Watching in silence as the princess produced his artifact, Axel's eyes suddenly widened as she suddenly began releasing massive amounts of chaos energy before speaking in a booming voice.

"Once again the sun will rise, and it's wake the paths of both light and darkness shall intertwine just as they did in the very beginning. The wheel of fate shall turn again. though the two paths shall be walked by those who were never meant to be…

So that was her power... foresight? Axel observed Pearl carefully as he placed the emerald back into his pocket. "Chimera, make sure you save that somewhere." He spoke so that only his mechanized companion would hear before moving to follow the others to the ship. "No way to tell he accurate her visions are... but I'd rather not take chances."

As the others began moving up whilst discussing the new name for their vessel, Axel pushed forward; arriving at the entrance before anyone else. "Hey Axel," His ears perked slightly at the sound of Alex's voice. Moments later, he sensed a small object moving through the air towards him. He reacted fast. Pivoting his body slightly before raising a hand to lazily catch the object without looking. "Consider it a gift from last night, you have no idea what it was worth..." Alex spoke again whilst he observed the shell.

"Think nothing of it." He turned to meet Alex's gaze before offering the thief a small semblance of a smile. A tiny part of him wanted to express more gratitude for the gesture, but he simply couldn't find the words... he'd just have to assume she'd understand.

Walking further into the darkness of the ship, Axel scoffed lightly before observing the shell a second time. "I thought I told her that these sort of things meant nothing me..." He mumbled thoughtfully to himself. Sighing, Axel brought the shell up to his new necklace and hooked in onto the chain alongside the healing water. "Just another thing I need to protect." He said before tucking the neckless into this shirt.

Mobian Sea

"I've managed to narrow down the location of the Chaos emerald we've been tracking..." Axel addressed group of heroes as he sat atop the ship's railing. It had been a day since the team had departed from Cha'aqua on their newly improved vessel, and the ocean winds had become warm and almost welcoming as the freedom fighters glided above the water towards land.

"It seems to be located in the center of a forest directly off the coast." The white hedgehog continued as he observed the faces of all those gathered. Starting with his brother and working his way to the team's newest addition, Cynthia. "I can't sense any life coming from the surrounding area, but that doesn't mean it won't be dangerous. There's something strange about the aura of the forest... it's nothing like back home, brother." Ominous wind seemed drift across the deck, causing Axel's clothes to flutter slightly and his gaze to shift to the landmass that was slowly coming into view. "It's like somethings waiting for us."

After his talk with Chimera...it seemed like they had said what they needed to. For after this, they returned to watching the preparations on the EggCarrier continue before returning to their quarters...

However, Zane couldn't sleep. What was still on his mind and his heart...was before them awaking here. His thoughts were still of home...of his family and whether or not they were still alive. Laying down, facing the abyss above, he couldn't sleep whatsoever. A sigh escaped his lips, before he sat up. He touched the vest he had on, closing his eyes with another heavy sigh.

Dad...I-I really hope you and everyone in the Northern Tundra are still alive... he thought, his fist tightly clenching the collar of his vest. Please...please be alright...

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

"Your ship has been upgraded to the max! The ships exterior has been patched up, and new metals were placed to help for more armor capabilities. We have also painted the vessel a dark blue and outlined with white! This way, no one will notice the obvious eggman color scheme!"

The next morning, Zane, even though a little groggy from lack of sleep, was happy to hear that the EggCarrier was completely fixed up and upgraded. Though when he heard about the paint job, he cringed slightly. Looking over at Chimera, he could see that it obviously didn't phase the bot. Then again, Zane still wasn't good at reading the bot.

"As for all of your confiscated equipment...take it back.  We trust you with the protection of Mobius, so you might as well take the stuff you need."

A smile appeared on the arctic wolf's face as he caught his collapsible snowboard, before putting it in his vest pocket. "Well, as long as it's in one piece, I'm fine. Thanks for not destroying it." he laughed, watching the others receiving gifts and whatnot from the underwater dwellers. Charyb giving Chimera his arm, Gu'ill a sharktooth necklace to Ken, and a sacred water to Axel.

Zane, however, didn't seem to get anything right then. Feeling a little defeated, he shrugged it off and was about to head off to the EggCarrier, until he heard Pearl declare something...

The arctic wolf didn't understand a word that was spoken, and probably didn't the rest...but he knew that it must've been something important...VERY important. But with that, the group was lead to the hangar by He'phes.

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

The group walked out of the elevator, before seeing the new EggCarrier...or the "Light Piercer" as Ken called it in all its glory. And one by one they filed in to walk in. However, with Zane bringing in the rear, he was stopped by He'phes.

"Hey, hey wait a minute." he said, chuckling. "I got something to toss your way."

"Hm? Something for me?"

He'phes pulled a small object, in the shape of a weapon hilt. "We, down here, call that a Multi-Tool. Press the button..."

Zane looked at the object, after being handed it. He immediately pressed the button and watched as water was drawn to it and formed it into a small screwdriver. "W-Whoa! Okay that is beyond freakin' cool!"

"Keep an open mind and you can make whatever you want with that." He'phes laughed, grinning and patting Zane on the shoulder. "Hope you get the use out of it you need."

"I will..." Zane smiled, pressing the button again before putting the small weapon hilt into one of his belt loops. "Thanks He'phes. Hopefully this won't be the last time we can chill down here." he laughed, before moving from the aquatic Mobian and heading into the carrier, smiling as he waved.

And it was like the moment he got on board...the vessel took off suddenly, sky rocketing them from Cha'aqua....

And with that, it was back to business. Zane had his arms crossed, nodding at what Axel spoke, as they soared among the skies and felt the sea breeze on them. It was obvious that the air around them was indeed foreboding and ominous...but that didn't matter. And even while listening to this and thinking again on Princess Pearl had spoke in vision or prophecy, he didn't care.

Of course, prophecy to him wasn't a big deal...but then again, Holoska, which was pretty near the Northern Tundra was part of the Gaia prophecy and he knew due to history what went down there. So taking heed to the prophecy wouldn't be a bad thing.

"If there is something waiting for us...we'll be ready!" Zane spoke up, smirking before giving Axel a thumbs up. "Whatever is in front of us...we'll put them on ice, no problem whatsoever!!"

After the spilling of his circuity, Chimera watched over the repairs. When night fell, he was still awake. He was a robot... he didn't sleep. He simply waited by the Egg Carrier, wishing time would move faster...

The morning came, and they were off to leave. Their things were returned to them, just like it was promised. Chimera never had anything taken from him, but he did receive something.

"Brother in circuitry..." Chimera watched in surprise as Charyb ripped out his own arm and handed it to him "Intergrate this piece of me into your technology...surely you can do that much.  With this piece of me, you'll be able to use high pressure water as ammunition...if you happen to run out of those barbaric bullets."  Charyb seemed to smile in a way only a robot could. "Like Gu'ill, I'll be able to get this back easily.  I'm sure He'phes will create a new arm in no time.  This is all I could think of to help you in your endeavors.  It'll feel like I'm helping this place beyond it's walls."

"I won't let your gift go to waste," Chimera stated, holding on the arm and smiling that smile back. However, that wasn't the strangest thing. No, the princess going into a trance was.

Only to bleed forth the sins of he who resolves to carry their weight on his own.

... Could she see the future? How? And how accurate was it...? Axel spoke to him in a low voice as he passed him. "Chimera, make sure you save that somewhere. No way to tell he accurate her visions are... but I'd rather not take chances." Chimera nodded, storing it away in his memory banks and bookmarking it. It seemed important. He climbed on board the... 'Light Piercer'? No, that was a horrible name.

"I vote we call it the 'Sky Chaser', or 'Blue Hurricane'," He said as he looked at the paint job. He still didn't like that it happened, but it did... with a shake of his head, he entered the ship. Times were changing... and so was he.

A day had past since they taken off, and during that day, Chimera had been busy. He tore off his left arm so he could weld and integrate Charyb's arm on him. It felt... strange, but he was sure he would get used to it. He also had the thing he Axel wanted him to work on, so there was that.

"I've managed to narrow down the location of the Chaos emerald we've been tracking..." Axel addressed group of heroes as he sat atop the ship's railing. "It seems to be located in the center of a forest directly off the coast. I can't sense any life coming from the surrounding area, but that doesn't mean it won't be dangerous. There's something strange about the aura of the forest... it's nothing like back home, brother. It's like somethings waiting for us."

"It's very simple then, we just burn down the forest then, correct?" Chimera stated. "If it burns, then the thing will die, or it can not hide," He retracted his right hand and let out a jet of flame into the air. "I am well equipped to do this, as well,"

It had only been a day and Cynthia was already loving the Light Piercer, in her mind she was surprised to see that the large carrier could fly on account of everyone saying it was a seafaring vessel, but it didn't bother her one bit, she loved how the wind felt flowing through her quills, it was as if she was on her Extreme Gear. Cynthia had gone out to the deck of the carrier to get some training in when she saw Axel addressing the group from atop the railing. "I've managed to narrow down the location of the Chaos emerald we've been tracking...It seems to be located in the center of a forest directly off the coast. I can't sense any life coming from the surrounding area, but that doesn't mean it won't be dangerous. There's something strange about the aura of the forest... it's nothing like back home, brother. It's like somethings waiting for us." A forest huh? Sounded interesting, especially since Axel could sense something wrong with it.

"It's very simple then, we just burn down the forest then, correct? If it burns, then the thing will die, or it can not hide," Chimera stated as he proceeded to release a jet of fire into the air. "I am well equipped to do this, as well," The crazy robot seemed content at burning a whole ecosystem to the ground. "Don't you think burning an entire forest to ashes is more of a bad idea than a good one, even if somethings hiding in there?" Cynthia said as she joined in on the meeting. "I mean, we're suppose to be saving this world right, not burning it to the ground like this Iblis guy you mentioned?" After Cynthia threw her thoughts into the mix she started to stretch a bit before turning to Ken. "Hey Ken, wanna do some training with me? I was going to do a couple laps around the carrier, if you join we could even get some combat practice, you in?"

After a good night's rest, Alex was up and about and sporting her new bracelet. "*Sigh* this thing was more of a pain to get on more than my ring, ah well, at least it's useful." Alex walked out to the deck of the ship to get some fresh air, since she didn't have a nice book to read or a target to do some target practice on, she may as well see what everyone was up to, because apparently Axel had some news to share. It's like somethings waiting for us." The thought of something waiting for them in the forest didn't appeal to Alex, even if there was an emerald involved.

"It's very simple then, we just burn down the forest then, correct? If it burns, then the thing will die, or it can not hide, I am well equipped to do this, as well," Chimera said as he produced a fume of fire from his hand. As much Alex wanted to agree with the robot's plan on burning the forest, Cynthia's claims on destroying the forest being bad changed her mind.

Of course, Alex's ears perked as she heard Cynthia mention something about a sparring match between her and Ken, it's honestly been a while since anyone has gotten a chance to fight, and Alex was curious as to how her invisibility bracelet could help her in combat. She wanted some peace and quiet for a while before they got back to some action, but the thought of some training actually stuck in Alex's mind. An interesting thought to be sure, Alex wondered how it was going to go.

Mobian Sea: Light Piercer

Walking out onto the deck of the ship, Ken couldn't help but smile as he saw the whole group together...like a team.  He breathed in the fresh sea air...it was so nice to be above sea level.  As he stretched, he felt a rustle in his pocket...it was Silver's gift!  He took it out of it's pocket and held it between his pointer finger and thumb.  He sure did miss that grumpy old hedgehog.  He lifted the medallion up to the sky, and into the path of the sun's light.  The medallion soaked up all the solar rays, and started shining in one particular direction.  It was odd...no matter which way he turned it, the ray of light reflected off the medallion always pointed the same way.  Ken thought nothing of it, and placed it back into his pocket.

It's like somethings waiting for us."

"If there is something waiting for us...we'll be ready!" Zane spoke up, smirking before giving Axel a thumbs up. "Whatever is in front of us...we'll put them on ice, no problem whatsoever!!"

"It's very simple then, we just burn down the forest then, correct?  If it burns, then the thing will die, or it can not hide.  I am well equipped to do this, as well,"

Ken walked out onto the bridge where the rest of his team resided, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I'm on a team full of idiots," He said with a low raspy voice.  His arms were crossed and his face was that of a scowl.  He couldn't contain it anymore as he bursted into laughter.  He wiped a tear from his eye and took a breath.  "Did you guys like my Axel impression?  I've been working on it ever since we left Cha'Aqua."  To be honest, he had been doing it ever since his brother became a brooding sad sack.  But now he believed that he had perfected it.

"Hey Ken, wanna do some training with me? I was going to do a couple laps around the carrier, if you join we could even get some combat practice, you in?"

Ken looked towards his new comrade, as if asking her if she were serious.  It then popped in his head that Cynthia hadn't seen the hedgehog in action before...but if she was so confident as to challenge one of the heroes aboard the ship to a race and spar...than it would surely be the last time she asked something so foolish.  Ken started stretching his legs...he hadn't even gotten to go a round against Gu'ill the whole time they were down there...it was about time he got some action.

"I'd love to do a couple of laps with you...but I'm afraid..." Ken's physical form faded, and a loud boom could be heard.  What Ken had left behind was merely an afterimage, "I'm already halfway done!"  He reappeared on the other side of the ship.  Ken stuck his tongue out and proceeded to run around the entirety of the Light Piercer.

Axel watched the others discuss the possibility of burning down the forest with a deadpan expression. "..." He opened his mouth to interject, but was instantly silenced by none of other Ken doing one of his horrible impressions.

"I'm on a team full of idiots,"The other white hedgehog spoke in a low brooding tone as he stood with his arms crossed in Axel's usual stance. "Did you guys like my Axel impression?  I've been working on it ever since we left Cha'Aqua."

"Hey Ken, wanna do some training with me? I was going to do a couple laps around the carrier, if you join we could even get some combat practice, you in?"

He simple opted to shoot his brother a glare full of daggers rather than fire off an insult in retaliation. Instead, Axel focused on what Cynthia had said regarding a sparring match. Watching as Ken bolted off in what would have been an impressive display of speed had Axel not grown up competing against the titanic capacity for high speed and strength of his twin, Axel slid off the railing on onto the deck.

BMG

"You may want to use that board of yours..." Axel addressed Cynthia as he began to walk towards her with his eyes glowing a brilliant blue. The air around the white hedgehog began to visibly bend and contort with a dark blue aura, and as he continued his advance, a sudden pressure seemed to gather on the deck in response to the latent chaos energy that Axel had allowed to flow freely after five long days of lying dormant. Ken wasn't the only one who wanted to stretch his legs! "He can do that all day." Axel continued to speak to Cynthia. Though he wasn't looking at her...

Passing the yellow hedgehog, Axel continued to stare intently at his target; the only member of the team that he wanted to fight as much as his brother. Stepping up to Chimera, Axel glared down into the egg robot's eyes to issue an unspoken challenge. Words were never his strong suit, but that didn't matter... he knew Chimera wouldn't say no to an opportunity to do battle- especially with someone of his own caliber.

"You three," Axel called over his shoulder to the other three organics that lingered nearby. They would only get in the way if they stayed, maybe even die in the crossfire. "We'll be using this side of the ship for our own match," The young prodigy issued his warning with a small grin that oozed killer intent. Was his excitement showing?

"I'm on a team full of idiots. Did you guys like my Axel impression?  I've been working on it ever since we left Cha'Aqua."

Zane quickly turned on his heel to see Ken standing almost in the same way as Axel, doing his impression of his brother. He began to snicker slightly, before clapping a bit. "Heh, nice Ken! Thooooooough I'm fairly certain you might need to slow your speaking down while in the brooding tone. Might make it sound better." he chuckled. This was all in jest, so him saying this was pretty justified.

However, once the entire group had finally gotten together, they began to break off into groups. Cynthia, the newest hedgehog on the team and apparently an Extreme Gear user, challenged Ken to a race. A bad move on her part because, well...out of the entire group, Ken seemed to be the fastest. Sure Axel had the warping and teleporting, but Ken seemed to have the speed down packed. While those two were racing...

"We'll be using this side of the ship for our own match."

Zane looked at Axel, who spoke as he stood in front of Chimera. A smirk appeared on the arctic wolf's face, as he chuckled. "Ya want us to leave? When there's going to be a fight between you and C?" he asked, taking a few steps back, before climbing up on a few things to get a better vantage point of the two. "Ha! Yeah right. A fight between the two of you? It's a cool fight that I wouldn't miss!"

"I'd love to do a couple of laps with you...but I'm afraid... I'm already halfway done!" Cynthia had only seen Ken for a second before a boom could be heard throughout the deck of the Light Piercer, he reappeared on the otherside of the carrier with his tongue sticking out before he continued his run. Cynthia stood there, arms crossed and eyebrow twitching. "You may want to use that board of yours... He can do that all day." Axel said as his attention seemed to be pointed at Chimera.

"Yeah, well I can go all day too!" Cynthia said as she threw her Extreme Gear on the ground and hopped on it. After a second of getting off the ground, Cynthia took off in an equally loud boom.

As Cynthia quickly turned the corner of the deck she could see Ken up ahead, she caught up with him and proceeded to race beside him. "You know, I thought we could have a nice jog around the Light Piercer, but you just had to make it into a competition. That's a mistake that your going to regret!" After speaking with her racing opponent, Cynthia immediately took off in a burst of speed. "No way me and Hurricane are losing to someone, especially someone racing on foot!"

It seemed like everyone was at eachothers throats, but not in a bad way. Cynthia and Ken went off on some race around the Light Piercer, and Chimera and Axel were getting ready for a brawl, that just left Zane and Alex. Zane seemed more interested in watching the Axel do battle with Chimera. Alex stood there for a moment before hopping up to Zane's level to both get a better view and to get out of harm's way. "I'm rootin' for ya Axel." Alex said with a bit of charisma. To be honest, she just wanted some peace and quiet, but as there was no books to be found on the Carrier, and not a single target to practice throwing knives on, Alex's options were kinda limited.

"So who do you think's going to win out of these two," She asked Zane as she sat on the edge of the vantage point they were on.

Chimera would have smirked when Axel walked up to him. He knew that look very well. It was the look of a hedgehog that craved battle. He wouldn't lie, he wanted to fight as well. Axel was the closest thing to a challenge anyways.

"You three," Axel called over his shoulder to the other three organics that lingered nearby. They would only get in the way if they stayed, maybe even die in the crossfire. "We'll be using this side of the ship for our own match,"

"Alright then... let's begin," That was only one of two warnings Axel was going to get. The second one was the signature sound of a spin dash charging up. When his spinning in place was down, Chimera rolled across the ground, his metal spikes causing sparks to fly as he rolled at Axel. Time to see how he stacked up!

"Alright then... let's begin,"

Axel's eyes widened with excitement as he watched Chimera roll into a ball before dashing towards him; sparks began to dance across the ship as the robot's spikes ate into the deck as he rapidly approached  "Yes! Let’s!" Axel roared at his opposition before cloaking his hands in crackling blue energy. Intent on meeting Chimera's attack head on, the white hedgehog thrusted both palms into the spiked sphere, causing particles of energy to take to the air. A large shockwave could be felt when the two opposing forces met. Though Axel soon found himself being pushed backwards by Chimera's superior strength...

"I'm rootin' for ya Axel." He heard Alex call from above, causing him to grit his teeth with a new wave of resolve. It would seem they’d have an audience.

Allowing his opponent's spikes to move dangerously close to his face and chest, Axel hastily formed a sphere of energy in his right hand and tossed it his side before using his teleportation technique to warp Chimera across the deck and directly into the sphere's flight path. “Catch this!” Axel called out to the robot before suddenly forming another sphere with his now free left hand, and hurling it into his first attack with much greater speed, causing them both to explode.

Chimera was caught in the explosion, making him to unfurl and skid across the ground. He stood up and retracted his right hand, replacing it with a nozzle. He began to run at Axel, looking as if he intended to ram head first into him. Instead, he stopped a few feet away and fired a jet of flame from his flamethrower. While doing so, he began to focus a fourth of his processing power into his new arm. He was still green to using it, but if used properly…

Axel's eyes narrowed as he watched Chimera's metallic form rush towards him as if he were prepared to ram him. He couldn't be foolish enough to try something so forward, could he? He got his answer immediately; in the form of a wall of flame. Those spectating would bare witness to the jet of fire washing cleanly over Axel, causing him to vanish in it’s blinding heat. However moments later he would appear at Chimera's right in his trademark flash of blue light.

"You think that's all it takes?" Axel scoffed. Though his clothes were slightly scorched and still steaming from Chimera's attack. Bringing himself to a skidding halt, Axel's image flickered before vanishing again. Moments later, echoes of the white hedgehog’s form started dance around Chimera as he began to use his teleportation technique to emulate his brother’s speed. "Vanish with the light..."  Axel’s afterimages taunted in unison as they let loose a rain of energy blasts down upon Chimera from every direction.

Chimera was on guard as he saw Axel warping. He knew was up to something… and then Axel taunted. His instincts kicked in, causing him to kick up his Black Shield to protect himself. Thank Chaos he programmed that into a subroutine. His memory was running as he was inside of the shield, calculating, running simulations… and then he found it.

Dropping his shield for an instant, he held out his left arm at a seemingly random direction. The arm let out a jet of water that flew across the air… and smashed into Axel’s face just as he appeared from a warp. He quickly followed up by throwing out his right hand and firing his flamethrower.

Caught completely off guard by the fact that Chimera's attack was heading right towards him... the real him, not one of his afterimages. Axel was unable to react to the sudden jet of water that was blasted into his face. Now reeling across the deck from the force of the shot, Axel brought himself to a skidding halt as he tried his best to steady his vision. "H-His sensors are even faster than I thought..." He mumbled to himself, before coughing up a large amount of the water that had been shot at him. Though he didn't have time to dwell on this.. not when he could sense another wave of heat rapidly approaching his flank. Hastily producing his chaos emerald, Axel called on it's power.

"Chaos Control!" His roar brought time to grinding halt, allowing Axel time to right his stance before turning to face the wall of flame that was a mere inch away from scorching him. Short on time, the young prodigy swiftly maneuvered around the frozen flame as he dashed towards Chimera with a sphere of spinning blue energy in his palm. With a grunt he slammed the sphere of energy into his opponents chest just before releasing his hold on time.

One second, Chimera was on the cusp of victory, and the next, Axel had slammed a chaos attack into his chest. Skidding back, Chimera recalculated his situation. Axel was now breaking out Chaos Control with an emerald. So instead of warping himself, he was warping time to give himself an tactical advantage.

"Looks like Chaos Control is my best bet." Axel thought as he glared across the deck into Chimera's cold gaze. Having not said a word since the beginning of the battle, this was the most like a machine Chimera had ever felt to the young prodigy, and it made his senses to stand on end. Even now, he could tell his opponent was analyzing everything move he made...

Scoffing, Axel brought the chaos emerald up a second time . "I’ll finish you with this," He growled as he began drawing on the artifact’s power. "CHAAAAOOSSS" He began as a blue light began to shine from the emerald. "CON-"

“Chaos Control… Problematic…,” He quickly turned his arm into its cannon mode, taking aim and firing a shot. The laser flew straight and true, hitting the emerald and knocking it out of Axel’s hand, and causing it to bounce to the other side of the deck. “Advantage removed,”

"..." Axel's expression said it all. Watching as the chaos emerald rolled across the deck, the white hedgehog's eyes were wide with pure shock. He was clearly mortified by what had just happened. Luckily Ken wasn't here to see this...

Taking a moment to stare blankly at the emerald, and then at Chimera, Axel fell silent for a moment. "..." He brought his hand up and opened his mouth to say something spiteful, but immediately halted himself with a large smirk that was visible even with his head hung low. Suddenly, his expression shifted to that of his twin's as he crossed his arms in front of his face and began forming two Chaos blades. "Alright," His tone oozed with fresh excitement as he swung both blades to his side before raising one so that its vibrating tip was facing Chimera. This was the most fun he'd had in very a long time... "I suppose the time for play is over then?" He smirk grew wider just before he dashed towards his new rival with his blades dragging across the deck.

Chimera simply transformed his arm into a chainsaw, charging to meet Axel head on. The toothed blade glisten in the sunlight before the engine roared to life, it spinning as he went to end the fight.
