Mikazukinoyaiba

An archetype that searches and Special Summons DARK Dragon-Type monsters with 2350 ATK or DEF would be pretty damned cool.

I was about to say Serpent Night Dragon falls into the category, but I think you knew that. In all seriousness though, I would like to see the "wicked knight" in Serpent Night Dragon's flavour text to get printed.

EDIT: Tri-Horned Dragon (another one of my favourite vanillas) also falls into that category.

Why is this a thread?

Not gonna lie, I'd run Serpent Night Dragon over this, and I kinda want that to get support (referring to its flavour text)

i made this thread because i was looking through my box of bulk cards and found this, and found out that its actually worth something.

also that name.

Mine is Serpent Night Dragon, if anyone cares.

[spoiler= Support for all 3]

Possessor Knight

DARK - Level 4 - Warrior/Effect - 1350/1400

When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add 1 "Serpent Night Dragon" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 DARK Dragon-Type monster with 2350 ATK or DEF from your hand or Graveyard. If you have not Normal Summoned this turn, and you control a face-up DARK Dragon-Type monster, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard, with this monster's Level changed to that monster's Level. You can only activate this effect of "Possessor Knight" once per turn.

Possessor Sentry

DARK - Level 4 - Warrior/Effect - 1850/1350

When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add 1 "Tri-Horned Dragon" from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, if this card is in your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 DARK Dragon-Type monster from your hand with 2350 ATK or DEF from your hand: You cannot Normal Summon the turn you activate this effect.

Possessor Blocker

DARK - Level 4 - Warrior/Effect - 1200/1350

When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add 1 "Mikazukinoyaiba" from your Deck to your hand. If this monster is in your Graveyard, DARK Dragon-Type monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.

Never would've guessed.

Mine is Tri-Horned Dragon.

my favorite vanilla.

Alrighty; mine's either Alexandrite Dragon or Hyozanryu.

Aside from those reasons, it's still a vanilla though.

There are a few (even if minimalistic):

Hieratic (if you really wanted to; though, Level 6 or even 8 would be better over 7 for more Xyz plays)

Sacred Sword of Seven Stars

Obligatory "hey, this card was in Duelist of the Roses" post coming.

Being a DARK Dragon gave it access to Nails of Bane, which was pretty sweet since it was a 700 point boost instead of the normal 500 (or even 300). The bad thing about this card is that its stats were balanced, so this card cost like 46 DC which is pretty bad for a 7-star monster with just 2200 ATK. Most Dragon-Types in that game (like all the high-Level ones) were rather overcosted for their usefulness because of the way DC was calculated.

As for Serpent Night Dragon and Tri-Horned Dragon, they're both Rituals for some reason. And Rituals in that game tend to be vastly overcosted and oddly specific. Serpent Night Dragon needs Darkfire Dragon, a Warrior, and a Winged-Beast, along with its Ritual Spell being cast, just for a 2350 monster that does admittedly get a nice boost against Spellcasters. Tri-Horned Dragon needed Feral Imp, Curse of Dragon, and Koumori Dragon along with the Ritual Spell for a 2850 vanilla. Sheesh.

It'd be a fun Deck to build in Duelist of the Roses if it weren't for the other high-Level DARK Dragons being annoying to Summon. There is the trick with the Custom Duel thing, but I can't remember if these two will show up in the slot machine or not.

It wasn't just Duelist of the Roses that the two of them (along with others) were Rituals. I believe they were Rituals in Forbidden Memories as well (and I think in a couple of the handhelds as well), but it was weird though.
