Now that the lame joke that only I could be fool enough to make is out of the way, think of this as the less awkward sounding "Open Anime Tournament." This is just a thing where you vote for who's YCM's favorite character, only instead of being as narrow as SACT with just a season's worth of characters, or as wide as the waifu/husbando stuff where any (gendered, but point) character from any media is allowed (though by name that is already different than a standard poll), here we use only anime characters, but any anime characters. So simple, I don't even care to come up with a better name this time, just something that makes sense.

 

[spoiler=Rules]
1. Nomination period until Sept 18 (whenever I wake up, eat and get to it)

1.a. I don't know when this will actually start, it partially depends on how far the other tourneys are at that time, and how fast it is to get images of whatever size I choose to work with (I would rather they all be equal).
 
2. Each person may nominate up to 6 characters. You must include the name, which anime they are from, and if they have an alternate form with a significant appearance change.
2a. This number may change.
 
3. You may not nominate more than 2 characters from the same anime, unless you only know so little.
 
4. Only one nomination is needed for a character to be in. The goal is at least 64 but, depending on interest, 128 would be considered.
4a. As a note, I will be holding my nominations as long as needed. Considering how open this is, if the demand is there, I don't just give up and go with a lower number of participants.
 
5. Don't be a spammer. Remember this is a place with post count enabled and try and give some reason for your vote (once the polls are up). If you only want to say who you vote for, save it, you said that with your vote already. ;)
 
6. No flaming, debating is fine but keep it civil. Keep in mind everyone is allowed an opinion.
 
7. Please no alt accounts or getting your friends to vote for a character when they otherwise wouldn't. That's not cool and if I find out it happened the character could be disqualified.
 
8. Matches will all be 1 v 1 and randomized. No ties will be allowed. There will be a time limit but I will try and get at least 10 votes per match (but possibly less as I don't know quite how well a turn out something will be after it's been a while since this exact kind of thing)

Perfect, I only have 6 favorite anime characters. I decided to remove all aidorus because there are too many awesome ones to choose from (I realize that applies to all characters, but for me, it's just way easier to pick from all than from aidorus).

This was rough deciding and there's four that I was considering that I didn't put in (and loads others I could have gone with)

Yeah, well, I saw both yours and the idol thing actually seemed pretty similar so I figured why not just change some things around (well in general they all will be, just a matter of what words are used). It saves me some time when I'm probably just gonna make a similar set of rules anyway. I mean, I will. >:D

 

I might put it into my own words earlier tomorrow, I might be lazy and forget. Will you give me permission in case I be lazy and forget?

Well, I actually dropped the moe aspect, the tourney is just whatever. It just felt like I had to do something a little more different, and the way that I feel the moe and waifu/husbando thing was woulld be too similar too soon, I guess. idk. That's why I didn't say anything about it in the OP. 

 

 

I tried doing these in western name order but it hurt to do so, so I wound up just giving in and doing it in eastern name order.

I don't mind for the most part, but if I really doesn't sound anywhere closer to natural (for me, Gamagoori would be the one pushing it), then yeah, don't force yourself. This time, I think I'll only do western order If the name is obviously western itself.

Well, only Momiji, Chopper and kind of Nagisa are really like that. I stand by the nominations for now.

I thought of something that makes sense to me that I'll add as a rule. If anyone nominates anyone with like another form that changes their appearance significantly (hair color, age progression, etc), let me know. I already know for the Precure and I don't think anyone else so far counts... but if so, mentioning it in a new post would be good.

I was just alerted that actually, Iowa was not in the Kancolle anime, so sorry, but I think I'm going to take her out... This was supposed to be anime characters only, not "characters who have a series that has an anime, even if the anime itself did not include that character."

(Also does anyone think Iowa should be in an episode? (I haven't watched :P))

Yeah. Just in case, here. This is an anime database, so you should definitely be able to tell who was in it from this.

 

I mean, the anime came out before she technically existed. Definitely seems like the kind of one who would have been in it anyway, even from what little I know about her, so probably in the second season.
