Striker's AMA [Zombie Edition]

Recommended Posts

  • Opinion of YCM as a whole.
  • Current opinion on politics? (You can comment about Trump's policies and/or the decisions his cabinet members have made recently)
  • What would you do to fix the inactivity in 1v1s? (Well, considering you're still the Leaderboard Chairman and former CC mod)
  • Thoughts about Link Monsters and how the changes affect the game as-is.
    • Translating this into CC applications, you think something should exist to allow members to design under the old mechanics, or force everyone to adapt to VRAINS?

(On the latter point for everyone else reading this topic, changes will not be made based on Striker's input, and simply a gauge on how he feels about things)

What do you think of your legacy on this site, as a whole.

Nowhere near when I'd want it to be, for better or for worst. During my time on YCM, I became a moderator, revitalized the Leaderboard and in turn 1v1, and became one of YCM's best cardmakers as some examples. Though as with everything in life, they didn't last. My modship lasted only three months due to negative public perception and my inability to manage it. The Leaderboard and 1v1 at this point are once again on life support three years after being shocked back from the grave. My cardmaking skills deteriorated over time due to either my unwillingness to play the game in my spare time or my focus on other things during whatever spare time I have had. My ego, timidness, and other negative qualities have all hampered my ability to make whatever I have done on YCM last. Though, there have been some bright spots with those. My short-lived modship eventually lead to the Junior Moderator system that is in place as well as more public input on potential mods. The Leaderboard, for a short period of time truly was what I envisioned it to be: a place where competition breeds good cardmaking. My cardmaking gave me an outlet for whatever creativity I had and allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have met and gain opportunities I wouldn't have had.

My legacy won't be as big and important as my peers (e.g. Black, Koko, etc.), but I at least left whatever mark I could given the circumstances. It won't be pretty, but at least something is there.

I have been too out of the loop to completely comment on YCM. The idea of having PR mods is a splendid idea, and something I wish was implemented years ago. Um, not much else has gone on that I've personally noticed though.

As for politics, I'm curious about the Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. I've read a bit on what they plan to do, but I'm not entirely convinced they can pull it off without pissing people off. I did hear that a House Bill is trying to institute a nationwide school voucher program, but that is going to cause a lot of headaches in my opinion, though a wait and see approached may be needed. But yea, that's my thoughts this late at night about that.

I don't really know anymore. It's reputation is not very good, as I'm sure you know, and anything I've done hasn't done much. It really needs some young blood though, yet I doubt it'd be able to get what it needs. Perhaps someone far younger to help me manage it? I don't know. :/

Allow people to cater to either formats through a tag system, as we have discussed before. I, myself, am not a fan of Links due to them funking over the Extra Deck, though I understand from what others have said that Links are something positive, for once. Only time will tell, I guess.

Where'd you go? You said you vanished for a bit, but what were you up to during that time?

Dealing with a still bitter breakup, which makes it even worse due her essentially disappearing and me not knowing why (Long Distance Relationship btw). Also, Senior Research Project for Econometrics and other school-related activities kept me busy. As well as the depressing thought that I turned into nothing, assuming I was something to begin with, on YCM finally caught up with me. So yea, consider it a trifecta of reasons.
