Magical Seller of Pots and Jars

(FIEND) (Earth) 1400/1800 [4 Stars]

Once per turn, you can pay 500 Life Points to add a "Pot" spell card or a "Jar" trap card from your deck to your hand. If the "Pot" spell card that was added to your hand by this effect draws into another "Pot" spell card, it can not be played until your next turn.

Once per turn: You can pay 500 LP; add 1 "Pot" Spell or "Jar" Trap from your Deck to your hand.

As stated above, While this card is face-up on the field was usually used for cards that has continuous effects, yours activates so it has no reason to be (neither on continuous effects anymore)

Shuffle afterwards is also unnecessary, by default the deck is shuffled every time you search (add from deck).

On the card itself this card is asking for trouble, searching pots (jars i dont see a problem) is playing with fire specially with a miserable cost, with no hard OPT and in the form of a Lvl 4 monster, this could easily go in joke and overpowered cards

(Probably user hasn't adapted to newer OCG for 5Ds and beyond; wording would be fine in older generations.)

It's a problem because of Desires (mainly), Riches (is this still being used?) and Duality (to some extent); other ones like Greed/Avarice are still banned and the others vary from meh to acceptable. I need to note that after Pot of Greed, all of them do have hard OPT on activation so even if you were to summon multiples of this, you can't abuse them for draw power.

At the same time though, the cost does need to be increased and/or have a limit on how often you can trigger once per turn. Preferably put a limit on it because although they prevent multiples of themselves; does not mean that they cannot search other stuff and trigger off those.

I don't think it is a good idea to add that last line of text.

Your opponent cannot normally confirm what you are drawing with "Pot/Jar" cards other than Pot of Duality, and so they can never prove that an extra activation wasn't already in your hand. This means that to make such a check viable, you'd have to always reveal everything you are drawing with Pot cards, and that's not very pleasant.

The effect reworded would be like:
Once per turn: You can pay 500 LP; add 1 "Pot" Spell or "Jar" Trap Card from your Deck to your hand.

I like how the Jar Turtle now can have its Jar of Greed searched and possibly create a little engine there, but your card being reliant on the Normal Summon just like Jar Turtle makes this still not fall into place as perfectly as it could be..... Still a good concept.

I also like the specifics of your search.

Between potential Jar S/T or monsters and Pot S/T or monsters, you search the existing ones in a manner that's controlled enough and let room for future cards to dodge this support if you wanted them to by simply making Jar Spells and Pot Traps. That is interesting IMO.

I don't think this card is much of a problem. I highly doubt anyone would run this just to search Desires, especially at the cost of a Summon. It could need a more relevant cost, like 800 or 1000, but this is fine.
