Shradow
Note that this info is for the three month period ending on June 30th, 2017:https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2017/170726e.pdf For a less technical overview, showing some LTD sales up to June 30th, 2017:https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/finance/hard_soft/index.htmlhttps://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/finance/software/index.html Nintendo's showing some pretty darn good numbers for this past fiscal quarter. A few highlights:The Nintendo Switch sold 1.97 million units these past three months, bringing its total up to 4.7 million units sold worldwide. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch version) sold 1.16 million units, bringing its total up to 3.92 million units worldwide, approximately an 83% attach rate.Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold a total of 3.54 million copies worldwide, approximately a 75% attach rate.ARMS sold 1.18 million units worldwide in just the two weeks since it's launch on June 16th through June 30th.Switches are selling just about as fast as Nintendo can make them, and it looks like they're well on their way towards their goal of selling 10 million units within its first year. I thought these were some interesting and pleasantly surprising numbers, and I imagine not everyone follows this sort of thing so I figured I'd post about it here. This doesn't even include stuff like Splatoon 2 which is doing quite well, already having sold nearly 700k unit within its first three days in Japan alone. J-Max
I'm glad to see that Nintendo is on the up again after the Wii U hit a sour note with a lot of fans. Just put some of the loved frnchises such as F-Zero on the console and they will be looking at figures closer to the Wii and DS.
KatnissGod
Not surprising. When I went to get my switch, there was only one or two left in the whole of my area.
Tinkerer
Interesting. For reference, what other consoles/games did they have that had comparable numbers (it's hard for me to visualize without a prior reference point).
Shradow
Well this is just something I remember off the top of my head, but the Wii U only got to about 4 million or so units sold after its first year. If you went back and looked through older reports you could probably find the numbers you're looking for. I wonder how well the Switch would be selling if Nintendo wasn't having to compete for parts, like against companies such as Apple for flash memory components that are having shortages.
