Dimensional Barrier

Declare 1 monster card type (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Pendulum), for the rest of this turn, neither player can Special Summon monsters of the declared type, also negate the effects of all monsters of that type while they are on the field. You can only activate 1 "Dimensional Barrier" per turn.

So I was looking through the list for the TCG prints for the Cyberse Link Structure and I noticed this thing's getting reprinted in there. I guess with Links it doesn't have its old potency, but it almost certainly will have another format where its one of the best cards in the game. That said, I'm curious on people's thoughts about the card itself and what they think about it being reprinted and thus super accessible.

I'm mostly after the Cosmic Cyclone reprints.... I need to refresh my memory on what the Links are... *shrugs*

The card is still gonna be potentially useful depending on the direction of Links. If Links were meant to help support other mechanics in the meta and going 100% spam Link Summoning was not optimal, then this card would be decent IMO, though most likely not..... So far those kinds of mixed mechanic combos seem to be on fun decks.

Dimensional barrier should be banned for the same reason vanity is banned. It is essentially lol nope you can't play yugioh card which let's you set up your field while not allowing your opponent to do the same.

What is up with TCG players and being opposed to diversifying their decks. If your deck is cannon that relies entirely on one type of summon and has no fall back plans, you really need to go back to deck building

Yeah... I don't think you should take Babymon's stance as the stance for all TCG players.

That said, he does make a point when it comes to using this vs Pendulum decks since it really is difficult to play around in that case.

Unless you are running an anti meta deck or are using an archetype whose specific boss monsters are a mix of XYZ, Synchros, Fusion,Rituals then you would realise that most archetypes decks often are built around summoning monsters of specific types and very rarely are geared towards using more than one type of monster class.

Thus, this card serves the same degeneracy as vanity emptiness when it is activated. It essential shuts your opponent down from playing yugioh after you have set up your board and have all your monsters with 2000+ attack on the field ready to go.

Kills a lot of stuff for one turn. If they had extended it to include Pendulums (although the rulings could get messy due to not being able to normal summon Pends from the MD or hand) and Links, it might be a better stun card. Then again, wouldn't that make it a bit too OP?

It can declare Pendulums. It can't declare Links since it was made before Links were a thing.
