WIND/Warrior-Type Effect Monster/Level 6/1900 ATK/1400 DEF

Lore: If you control a "Stardust" monster and none of them are "Stardust Synchron": You can target 1 monster you control and declare a number from 5 to 8; its Level becomes the declared number, also Special Summon this card from your hand or GY. (Quick Effect): You can banish this card on the field and 1 "Junk" monster from your side of the field or in your GY; Special Summon 1 "Synchron" monster from your Extra Deck. You can only use each effect of "Stardust Synchron" once per turn. Monsters Special Summoned by either of this card's effects cannot be used as Synchro Material, except for the Synchro Summon of a "Stardust" monster.

Quick-Play Spell Card
Discard 1 monster, and if you do, add 1 Dragon Tuner from your Deck to your hand, except a LIGHT or DARK monster, then, immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 of those monsters. You cannot Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon using cards with that Summoned monster's name as material the turn you activate this effect, except Dragon or Warrior monsters with 2500 or less ATK.

[spoiler=Cards B]

Rulings notes: These cards do not go to the extra deck upon leaving the field, even if their effects treat them as synchro monsters at that time.

Once per turn, you can activate this card's effect by revealing 1 Dragon-Type Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. Until the End Phase, this card's name becomes the revealed monster's name, this card is treated as a synchro monster, and this card's level becomes the revealed monster's level.

(Cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a Dragon-Type monster.) If you control a level 7 or higher Dragon-Type Synchro monster, you can special summon this card from your graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Dragwolf the Evolution Synchron" once per turn. If this face-up card would leave the field, banish it instead. If this card is summoned, you can either: treat this card as a synchro tuner monster and if you do, it cannot be used for the synchro summon of a level 11 or higher synchro monster. OR: Special summon 1 "Burning Soul Token" (Fiend-Type/FIRE/Level 2/ATK 0/DEF 0). This token is treated as a tuner monster.

How about this:

"Make 2 cards that support either directly or indirectly Yusei's and/or Jack's ace monster(s) other than shooting quasar dragon. Including a short write up about the flavor of your cards is allowed"

note: I will be using cards that I previously posted in custom cards but since no one ever commented on them I don't think this breaks any rules. If it does you can open up the challenge again.

If you posted them more than a month ago, then they're permitted for use in competition here. Only issue is the anonymity if someone is curious enough to use the search function (if they care).

Ignore the write-up, and I'll accept your challenge-don't want to detract too much from the scrutiny on the cards as cards with our own interpretations-might unduly tilt the votes, after all!

(Well, it's pretty obvious who made what, so...)

Set A

Synchron is fine for setting up larger Synchro plays, though it's mostly for Stardust anyway if you can set up properly. (I cannot see you really summoning Charge/Assault Warrior with this too much, except if you tech the smaller Tuners). Special Summoning "Accel Synchron" is alright; Formula's the better one for making Chronicle if you need to, though yeah, that's about it. (Also so much for Shooting Star Dragon being supported because he technically isn't a Stardust card)

Reverie is fine for grabbing Debris or something, but that being said, you're only searching 1 Dragon Tuner anyway and it's probably only this in Yusei.dek. Then again, looking at the pool of non-LIGHT/DARK Dragon Tuners which are searchable, you're essentially stuck with Dragunities for the most part. I suppose they could use this to help make their Synchros since barring Ascalon [pre-laddering], they all have less than 2500 ATK and are Dragon, but yeah. In Yusei.dek, you only got Charge / Assault and Stardust / (Spark).

Set B

I would say that Shapeshifter does help with not having to actually get Stardust/RDA out for their evolved forms, given the rules on the Extra Deck monsters in MR4, but you still gotta summon this first. Not saying this is terrible though, but yeah. Too bad it doesn't work with the /Assault Mode stuff, but they're meh anyway.

Dragwolf's likely only going to be used for Shooting Star or Red Nova (or Calamity; whatever you find appropriate). It's nice that it can revive itself though, but since it banishes itself if it leaves the field, that kills chances of you laddering with it. You do have other uses for it with other Level 7+ Dragons, yes, but what other 8-10 monsters are you planning to summon? You can't really summon Cosmic Blazar / Quasar or any of the Level 12 Delta Accels without reviving them first or doing the Link thing to open up a zone for another Synchro non-Tuner that is appropriate. You could still make RDA Tyrant, which is Level 10, but that requires a Level 6 monster first. It works, but as it currently stands, you're stuck with Yusei/Jack support all the way (but that's what you were designing for anyway). Uh, I guess you could make Abyss over Exploder Dragonwing + this if you actually still run the former.

(Oh right, and it's discard fodder for Consonance for whatever that's worth)

Let's see:

Set A:

  • Generally restricted to Yusei's "Stardust" archetype, though it is possible to make the Level modulation work on Synchron. Reverie is technically limited in viable targets it can search and NS, but they aren't too bad and card does expand itself to other archetypes at the expense of limiting what you can summon.
  • To be honest, most of the "Warrior" Synchros are bad now.

Set B:

  • Limited purely to the Level 8s in terms of support for the most part, and the original ones at that, given Stardust Spark =/= Stardust Dragon and cannot go into SSD. Jack has a few more options with this one, but yeah, you can't exactly deviate much from making RDA and all.
  • But...they do make SSD and Red Nova, etc a lot easier to access for whatever it's worth.

I'm going to vote set B for the time being.

Both cards are fine since they technically do accomplish the theme without straying too much and being workable. They do have their own problems as noted above and Shapeshifter needing to be summoned first, but being able to access the new bosses without resorting to additional work in MR4 is always welcome.

For A, not sure how Synchron will do for Yusei.dek though, given the Level thing (and I doubt they care for Ultimaya, though it's an option). Reverie is fine, but that's just it.

If you're both fine, then yeah, Snatch wins this one. Make sure one of you records the result if you want it counted towards your performance this season.
