Judgment Dragon: Discussion

Recommended Posts

JD should be like this:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned' date=' except from your hand while you have exactly 7 "Lightsworn" monsters with different names in your Graveyard. This card cannot activate its effects the turn it is Special Summoned. By paying 1000 Life Points, activate one of the following effects:

● Send all "Lightsworn" monsters you control to the Graveyard; this card gains 1000 ATK for each card sent. You can activate this effect during either player's turn.

● You can remove from play all "Lightsworn" Monster Cards in your Graveyard to destroy all cards on the field.

;D

[/quote']

That's just like rainbow dragon... but weaker. You killed it :(

More like balanced it. Also, it's still stronger than Rainbow Dragon, since getting 7 Lighsworns in your Graveyard still isn't that hard to do, Lightsworn outclasses GB by a mile and it's 2nd effect still destroyes cards instead of simply returning to the hand.

And it isn't crappy. It's still decent since it makes for a great field cleaner.

Your logic escapes me?

Broken > Crappy

You could keep it's original effect, just slap the effect "This card cannot attack the same turn it activate it's effect." That way they aren't taking 3000 to the face each turn.

If it's broken it should be banned and the less banned cards the better.

So who cares if they aren't taking 3k damage. Their still lossing their whole field at the drop of a pin. Not only that but after you clear the field it is easy to then swarm and still swing for massive damage.

Broken =/= Overpowered.

Broken means it's innovative and powerful within it's own abilities. Overpowered means nomatter what, as soon at it hits the field, there is nothing you can do. Just because you can use priority on an effect before it can be bottomlessed doesn't mean it's overpowered, in any case of a monster's effect.

And also, if you can't attack with JD, and they swarm you to death, doesn't that mean they are playing the right way?

Anyone can blow up the field and then just normal summon 1 monster and slap you for 1500+. It takes Knowledge/Luck/Skill to swarm the field and hit them for 6000+.

Good card is good, and should stay semi'd. Konami just needs to release more solutions to the "Lightsworn problem", and they are in the form of the Allies of Justice unit, and buffing already formidable archetypes such as Gladiator Beasts and Blackwings to deal with Lightsworn's advantages.

There is no "Lightsworn problem" without Judgment Dragon. Lightsworn as an archetype is a perfectly balanced archetype, it's Judgment Dragon that gives it its perceived overpoweredness.

Lightsworn - Judgment Dragon = Problem solved.

Eh' date=' limit JD then there's no problem. I don't want to see JD banned so... >.>

Limiting it won't solve the problem. It will just make it more lucksack than it already is.

What about:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 4 "Lightsworn" monsters with different names in your Graveyard. You can pay 1000 Life Points to destroy 2 cards on the field. During each of your End Phases, send the top 4 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

That seems a little costier...I guess.

True it will be more based on luck but it lowers the chance of an OTK occuring. It'll be harder to get JD in your hand and you can't summon 2 JDs at a time. You won't be satisfied unless it's banned? O.O Well if they do ban it I demand a new LS boss -_-

It will not be harder to get to your hand. Incase you haven't noticed, most LS decks run six JDs nowadays: 2 JDs, 2 reincarnation, and 2 beckoning lights. Every one of those is liable to bring out JD at some point. Limiting it changes nothing.

Apparently Gragonith isn't good enough to be considered a Lightsworn boss.

Banning JD is the only real solution, but of course Konami will instead limit it and many of the other important LS cards. After all, they like to use the ban hammer conservatively.

No, broken means their is something not right about the card. I don't get what else your trying to say

And also, if you can't attack with JD, and they swarm you to death, doesn't that mean they are playing the right way?

How can they swarm you if they just lost their whole field? Last I check it's a hard thing to recover from.

Anyone can blow up the field and then just normal summon 1 monster and slap you for 1500+. It takes Knowledge/Luck/Skill to swarm the field and hit them for 6000+.

Their is no skill when you have a walking field cleaner making it ridiculously easy to swing for any amount of damage. Also how skillful is it to just summon Lumina and then use her to get back a Wolf and then swing for over 1/3 damage even without JD?

Good card is good, and should stay semi'd. Konami just needs to release more solutions to the "Lightsworn problem", and they are in the form of the Allies of Justice unit, and buffing already formidable archetypes such as Gladiator Beasts and Blackwings to deal with Lightsworn's advantages.

lol semi. Broken card is broken. More answers to a problem doesn't solve it if it can still be done. Also the Allies of Justice can't do crap to LS since once a nuke goes off their going to be in for a hell of a time recovering. Also by this logic Chaos Emperor can be unbanned so long as their are enough answers to him.

This topic makes me laugh.

Yeah, so? What's wrong with that?

You could keep it's original effect' date=' just slap the effect "This card cannot attack the same turn it activate it's effect." That way they aren't taking 3000 to the face each turn.

It barely matters if it cannot attack during the same turn, because it still has laughable summoning conditions, It still has a laughable cost for a Field Nuker and you're still able to Normal Summon that turn, which usually is a Lumina and start swarming their field and in most cases end the duel like that anyway.

Broken =/= Overpowered.

lolwut?

Needs JD at 0 next banlist[/topic]

Fix'd.

JD isnt that broken it needs to be banned.

This is the broken card:

Chaos Emperor - for a measly 1000 LP, lets blow the field, blow your hand and why your there, you can dish out some damage to.

Limiting JD just slows down how fast they can bring it out....

and if they ban it, LS is almost dead unless they release some new bigger LS in a new pack...

Honest is the broken one here, not JD.

Limiting it changes nothing because it can still come out and totally swing the duel. Not only that but with Monster Reincarnation and Beckoning Lights it is easy to get JD into your hand. Also their is no such thing as "not that broken" You are or you aren't, it's that simple.

LS will not be dead. With out him they still are a really good archtype at swarming the field, but even if they were to die, if they are that dependent on a ridiculous field nuker they should by all means die.

Honest isn't in the least broken. All he is is basically a attribute specific Shrink.

"This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card cannot be special summoned except while there are 5 or more lightsworn monsters in your graveyard with different names. Once per turn you can send the top 7 cards of your deck to the graveyard to destroy all other cards on the field' date=' only this card can declare an attack during a turn in which you activate this effect. During your end phase send the top 3 cards of your deck to the graveyard."[/quote']

Still the best one in the thread.
